When we stayed in a bigger room it was phenomenal. Very comfortable, clean, with a nice fan. The view from the terrace was stunning. The small one was also okay, but if you can, invest little extra and enjoy in luxury. We specially liked the pool area. Its like an oasis..you can realy relax and chill after a day of bargaining with people on the beach 😉 The staff was proffessional and hard working, Vanessa stood out - she even arragend little surprise in the room after we told her it was our honeymoon.

The only thing that can bother a little bit is loud music from nearby that was playing on some nights.

Tombo House is an incredible hidden gem in Diani Beach, Mombasa, that ticked all the boxes for me. I wanted to reconnect with nature, switch off from my devices, relax, eat good food and enjoy the tropical weather that Mombasa had to offer. Tombo House was the perfect hideaway to do that. Its grounds are incredibly well looked after, and the gardens were absolutely stunning to walk around, all well-maintained and beautiful. The room itself (Deluxe double with a balcony) exceeded my expectations - it was extremely clean, well decorated and was very calming to stay there. The bathroom was clean, as was the bedroom and hallway, and the balcony had the most incredibly mountain view with lots of trees and monkeys that came to say hello in the early morning or early evening. I was pleased that the room had mosquito nets on the windows, which meant I could fall asleep to the birds and crickets at night without getting eaten alive by the mozzies. It was also really relaxing to have the windows open when it lashed down with tropical rain! I really loved the breakfast, too. I enjoyed waking up early to enjoy a selection of fresh fruits, delicious German sweet bread (and all the condiments and jams), and the two ladies who made me delicious eggs and bacon every morning. I also loved the morning playlist in the dining area, although it did feel like groundhog day sometimes because I kept hearing the same song every day (John Mayer) but I didn't mind, it was very relaxing and I loved the songs. Great music taste by the way. I LOVED the garden with the gorgeous pool and sun beds, and the staff were incredibly helpful with everything. Thank you Nora, your partner as well for his friendliness, Eunice is the best, as is Vanessa, the two men maintaining the garden were friendly, as were the security team. Kira and the other pooch!!! I felt very safe travelling alone here and it's all thanks to you guys. Thank you. Will definitely come back again! P.S.

There wasn't anything I didn't like. Everything was perfect, and I'm so glad I found Tombo House - much better than all of the other properties in the vicinity. I noticed that people complained that it was far from the main road down a dirt track - that's the whole point! It's meant to be tucked away. It's not that far anyway, just a short tuktuk ride away, or alternatively, if you can walk (which I couldn't due to injury), it's still a lovely walk through the side roads to see all the monkeys misbehaving - it's nice to walk around like a local :) and say hello to all the neighbours.

Amazing hotel indulge in nature. The rooms are modern and simple and you get a lot of privacy. The pool is perfect for relaxing with a unique view. Staff is phenomenal and very kind, starting with Mista Vikta from the security, always welcoming us with the biggest smile. Vanessa is a great hotel manager, very helpful and nice. Cleaning is 5 stars.

We stayed during low season and we felt that breakfast could use more fresh options however they have a lot of variety and staff is always ready to prepare you personalized eggs

The swimming pool is simply wonderful – a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of this little slice of heaven. The facilities and rooms are top-notch, thoughtfully designed, and incredibly comfortable. What truly sets Tombo House apart is the super friendly and understanding staff. They go out of their way to make you feel at home, and their kindness adds so much warmth to the stay. This place is nothing short of magical. Tombo House is a very cozy accommodation. It is not located on the beachfront, but it is within walking distance of resorts where you can go spend the day on the beach for a reduced price, most of the time redeemable. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help the guest book different activities, restaurants or contact reliable drivers to get around. The breakfast was also very nice and abundant with different options of fresh fruits.

I found expensive that I have to pay 1000 kes to wash my clothes and 200 kes for each piece that I need to iron when they were supposed to be ironed after washing. 2800 Kes for washing two loads and ironing 4 pieces.

The hotel was new, the room was spacious with very modern decoration. The Walls were clean. The Windows in the room had mosquito nets, so there were no mosquitoes in the room. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had hot water in the afternoon and evening. It was a bit colder water in shower in the morning but as the weather was warm we did not mind. The staff was helpful and very kind. The hotel has the restaurant so you could choose from nice options for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed the eurppean style breakfast that was very tasty. We also enjoyed the swimming in the pool and relaxing in the Garden where gou could spot different kind of animals ( monkeys, chameleons and others). The hotel is modern with african style, so We enjoyed our stay very much being surrounded by African nature. The Diani Beach is 12 minutes by walk or you can call local and hotel tuk tuk for cheap price. The hotel also organizes the trip to Wasini island which we recommend as we were swiming with dolphins and snorkeling in the ocean. The hotel provided everything we needed for our vacation and it was our best hotel we stayed in whole Kenya. Well done to German owners who did their best to fullfil our expectations and needs. Thank youn and we will definitely choose your hotel if we are back in Kenya.

What a great experience. Very relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful garden and pool. It’s like a hidden treasure. The rooms are very spacious, which also adds a lot of the Tombo experience: the space gives you a feeling of freedom and luxury, it was almost overwhelming. We were with my family of four in August 2024 for 3 nights. My wife and me stayed at the Deluxe Suite. Our kids had Deluxe 2-person room with balcony. Both big rooms, and both very well decorated, really clean, great bathroom/shower, intimate decoration and what a good quality build. The constructions at the whole area are very impressive. You can see it was build with a design well made combined with care and eye for detail. The breakfast was also of outstanding quality (e.g. they bake the bread themselves). Not sure you can easily find so much quality, combined with intimacy for this price. They also have an excellent service (paid but good prices) to take you to places like the beach, supermarkets, restaurants, barber etc. Ken, the Tuk Tuk driver is great and always right on time. The owners and all staff were very friendly and helpful. We felt at home and were sad to leave. So thanks Tombo House for making us feel welcome and allowing us to enjoy it! We highly recommend this place.

Their attentiveness and genuine care added a personal touch that made the whole experience more special. The property itself was stunning, with well-maintained gardens and facilities that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of Diani Beach. The serene and picturesque setting provided a tranquil retreat, ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation. Overall, my stay at the Tombo Guest House was exceptional, thanks to its hospitable staff and the exquisite charm of the property.

While I found many aspects of my stay at the Tombo Guest House at Diani Beach to be delightful, one aspect that was less than ideal was its location not being directly on the beach. This meant that accessing the beach required a bit of a walk, which, while not a major inconvenience, did detract slightly from the convenience I had hoped for in a beachside holiday. Having direct beach access would have enhanced the overall experience, allowing for spontaneous and effortless beach visits. Nonetheless, this was a minor drawback in what was otherwise a fantastic stay.

The owners and the staff are very helpful and try to make the stay as easy as possible. I loved waking up in the height of the trees, hearing the sounds of the jungle and have monkeys saying good morning. Tombo house is arranged beautifully with respect with regards to nature and animals.

It’s not that I didn’t like it but for everyone bad on foot, they should know that the arrival is by 5-10min walk on unpaved road from the main road. We usually got tuktuks/ Uber/bolt for pick ups and it’s not a big deal.

Very nice rooms with beautiful garden. Was a pleasant stay, loved the pool and furnishings.

Should definitely do something about the menu. Breakfast was okay but definitely not the best we had in Diani. Compared to other hotels at this price point it’s basic. Same goes for the lunch/ dinner options. Also the bar opens at 14:00, so if ur like me and want to have a cappuccino in the morning ur in bad luck
