The Maji Boutique Hotel is incredible. If you lucky enough to find availability just book it, you wont regret it! If you dont like big crowds and if you prefer individuality, this is the place. Everything was excellent; we loved the fresh food, ability to eat at your leisure, the freshly baked breads in the morning, the exquisite location right on the beach, the amazing pool around the rooms of the hotel, the unique local art in every corner on every wall, the stunning customised furniture, the peaceful atmosphere, the privacy as there is only 16 rooms; and the excellent service from the amazing staff who felt like family by the time we left - from the owner, the management, the waiters to even the back of house staff, the pool cleaner, the security, the room cleaners, everyone was so amazing and friendly!! Oh and the deep tissue massage was actually perfect. We spent 6 nights here and wish it could have been longer. We dont usually travel to the same place twice but for sure this is going to be one place we will definately come back to. Couldnt recommend this boutique hotel enough

We were there to celebrate my husband 50th bday and the team (thank you Zipora and Evelyn for your hospitality, warmth and kindness) went out of the way to ensure that our time was special. Everything about the Maji hotel and our experience was exceptional. The hotel is aesthetically decorated, lots of fun and comfortable corners to sit in, the beach beds super comfy and the wrap around pool kept clean (thank you Wilson), the beach is gorgeous, the service is on point (thank you Erasmus, Zippy, Caroline), the rooms spotless where the housekeeping staff ran it as a well-oiled machine, and the food delicious. Our morning walks to the Kongo river were followed with an exceptional breakfast spread. We spent the rest of the time happily on the beach beds, reading and swimming. My original plan was to venture out for dinners but the food was so good that we ended up eating all meals at the hotels with the chef going out of the way to accommodate our vegetarian diet and adapting the swahilli dishes for variety. We had a special table setup that was beautifully decorated to celebrate my husband's bday with a cake. The security is always there, making sure monkeys stay at bay, discrete but always there. To all staff at Maji, thank you for giving us the best of memories on this very special holiday.

Devine location, the stretch of beach at the location is picturesque! Very attentive staff you feel pampered the minute you walk in the facility. All rooms are spacious. All are beautifully and individually decorated meals are à la cart so it’s your slice of paradise at your pace. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Simon at breakfast made this feel special. He was very attentive and respectful. Zipporah and her team make sure you have the most wonderful time. We had dinner one night at the Ali Barbour cave restaurant which we were pleasantly surprised provided pick up to and from the hotel as a complimentary service With reservation ahead of time required.

Lovely personal feel to the hotel. Staff were genuinely the most attentive and nice in our whole 3 weeks travelling. The beach is also immaculate. The food was also amazing and really helped the stay feel special. The hotel even went as far as surprising us with a bottle of bubbly on our final eve to help us celebrate our honeymoon which was really thoughtful and we really appreciated. Couldn't recommend it enough.

If I had to find something then perhaps the shower could have been better for a nice hotel

Fantastic setting, wonderful rooms and pool that sweeps around this great Boutique Hotel. All the staff were excellent and friendly, they clearly enjoyed their jobs as well as excellent training. The Chef made fantastic meals, including Tuna carpaccio and Lobstwr Thermidor. Fantastic Hotel!

The staff are super helpful and so lovely, including the ground and security staff. Breakfast was beautiful and very plentiful.

Maybe consider having some background music in the bar for ambience and updating the cocktail list? Also some more activities or board games for when it’s raining all day perhaps? There really wasn’t anything to dislike though.

I can't thank the staff at the Maji enough for all of the ways they made my time with them so wonderful. Communication before and during my visit was excellent, especially when I had to deal with travel delays due to awful weather. They went out of their way to make my birthday a very special occasion. The large room was perfect, and I even enjoyed a relaxing soaking bath. Meals were served with excellent and attentive service, and the beach beds were made with care and comfort.

My stay was too short, but it is a luxury item that I could only afford two nights. Definitely made the most of my time there, and thank you all for such excellent care throughout my stay!

Could be difficult to find a waiter late afternoon. Apart from breakfast, the quality of the food did not meet expectations

I stayed at the Maji Hotel for 5 nights in January 2023 and it really could not have been better. I would recommend the Maji to anyone going to Diani. The staff was very friendly and helpful, my room was clean and comfortable, and the beach views were breathtaking. I didn't want to leave! I also really enjoyed the food. I had the half-board option and I thought there were good options for breakfast and dinner. There was a lot of variety in the choices and I think you could stay for at least a week (probably more) and order different things for every meal. I was travelling solo and would recommend the Maji to other solo travelers. It was so relaxing and the beach was beautiful - probably the best beach I have been to.

The beach boys selling things on the beach were a bit annoying (especially when walking on the beach), but if you ignore them they generally go away (and obviously they aren't something the hotel can control anyway).

The breakfast was always great. The ethos of the hotel is freedom to eat whenever and wherever - we loved it. The whole place was small, quiet and atmospheric. The staff were unbelievably friendly.

The lunch and dinner menu was extensive. Sometimes the chicken kebab and beef stew - the meat was a little tough. It would have been nice to have more fresh salad, instead we resorted to grilled vegetables (which were delicious). Fewer sauces and more fresh grilled fish would be wonderful. And please, cut the tuna and beef carpaccio a little thinner!!
