The single bedroom is a nice size, modern, clean and very cozy. The bed is very comfortable and the room is quiet, albeit in the middle of downtown. I had a great night sleep. The bathroom is also a nice size, clean and beautifully designed, with a hot shower and amazing water pressure! All in all a great stay! The hotel is compact, well organized and aesthetically pleasing... The staff also very helpful and sweet. They were able to keep my luggage after checkout while I walked around the city. I did not try the food, as my favourite restaurant was just around the corner, but they have a coffee corner and a rooftop restaurant, so it might be worth a try. I loved my stay! Excellent value for the price!

Just one minus: when I opened the shower cap, which was provided in the bathroom, I found it used and even torn... It makes you think about what they are reusing, if they appear untouched: toiletries, towels (gasp!)... I hope the hotel can pay more attention to this!!

My room was perfectly adequate for my needs,excellent room service/chambermaid. The location is right in the centre of the business district with plennty of bars/retaurants.I only had breakfast once in the hotel and this was excellent and great value for money.I did however eat many times in the excellent 'Cocktail Lounge' and the food was first class as were the lovely friendly staff serving it.

I have come away from this lovely hotel with nothing but praise for the excellent friendly management team, the friendly waiting staff and of course all those beautifull girls in the restaurant and reception that took care of me, and not to forget the members of security whose presence made us feel secure and comfortable.The only thing i did not like was saying goodbye !!

My stay at After 40 Hotel in Nairobi was truly exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. The room was spotless, modern, and very comfortable. The bed was cozy, the linens were fresh, and the daily housekeeping kept everything in pristine condition. I appreciated the quiet atmosphere, fast Wi-Fi, and the availability of both a desk and a smart TV, which made it ideal for both work and relaxation. The location is one of the hotel's biggest advantages. Situated right in the heart of Nairobi’s central business district, it’s within walking distance of top attractions like the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi National Museum, and many cafes and shops. Despite its central location, the hotel felt very secure and peaceful. The breakfast exceeded expectations. It offered a variety of choices, from fresh fruits and juices to hot dishes like eggs, sausages, and traditional Kenyan options. 24hr open restaurant. Everything was well-prepared and served with a smile. The restaurant staff were attentive, and the view from the dining area was a lovely bonus. Overall, After 40 Hotel delivers outstanding value for money, and I’ll definitely be staying there again on my next visit to Nairobi.

This was the second time I stayed at the After 40, and it was as comfortable as I remembered from the last time. I enjoyed the breakfast and the unique view from the dining room. Also, the hotel is in a very convenient location, right downtown. The staff are competent and kind. I also booked a conference room for two days, and found the facilities and service to be good quality.

My colleagues had issues with mosquitos on a lower floor, though I did not have any problem on floor 8.

Nice mid-range hotel in the heart of Nairobi. The room and bed were comfortable. Although we didn’t feel that the city center was dangerous, the hotel took good precautions — including a security guard, double doors on each floor, and one-time-use key cards. I was initially concerned about noise, since the hotel is next to a market, but it wasn’t noisy at all and we had a great night’s sleep. There’s also a restaurant on the top floor (indoor, not rooftop), where we enjoyed a tasty coffee.

The wardrobe had a bit of a scent, but it didn’t bother us much.

It is a nice hotel in a good location (right in the city). The staff was nice and helpful. The room was clean and well-equipped (table, chair, tv, water kettle). The bathroom was clean and nicely done, with the best hot shower in town. :) The food (for dinner) in the restaurant was nice, with a great view of the city. The lift was very speedy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back when we stay in Nairobi CBD again.

The room was somehow small; a bit more space would have been great. The hotel was very clean in general, but the blackout curtain definitely needs cleaning more often. The pillowcases were a bit outdated and overused (but they were clean). Breakfast was mostly Kenyan-style cooked food, with very few options for those who do not eat such food.

Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. We wanted to explore downtown Nairobi, and this was an excellent location for that. ALso the staff allowed allowed us an early check in, as our flight arrived at 6.00 AM. This was really appreciated!

The rooms are right above the central market, which means they can be noisy, especially as you need the windows open for ventilation. These windows have no screens, so you have to watch for mosquitos.

I like this hotel! But I’m am also familiar and comfortable with the area (CBD). The hotel is so convenient if you need to stay in CBD. I love the area— Java is close by, a small park and great stores. The hotel was as expected and at a fair price. The staff were pleasant. The room was comfortable & typical for hotels like this in Nairobi. It’s very quiet in the city at night.

There were plenty of restaurants nearby, many within walking distance, offering a great variety of dining options. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making the experience even more enjoyable.

The food at the rooftop restaurant was delicious, and the lounge was a great spot to watch football or enjoy some tasty drinks. I will definitely come back if I’m ever in Nairobi again!
