The breakfast, the rooms, and the location were absolutely amazing! For the price, the rooms are huge and the shower and bathroom are incredible. The staff, especially the receptionists were lovely and very helpful.

The general manager was a little sour. We had a question and okay, we totally understood that we had to go through booking.com for it. But regardless of the mistake from our side (which we tried to rectify through booking.com customer service but got no response so we tried to contact the hotel directly), if you are in a customer service role, you cannot role your eyes or be condescending to a customer.

An extremely clean and well presented hotel, in a central location. Staff were very friendly and our beds were incredibly comfortable. Parking was easy, and fairly reasonable at £15/24 hours. The included breakfast was a nice surprise - we assumed it would be continental, but there was a full cooked option too - very good value at the price.

I'd like to have windows that open, for me it feels claustrophobic when they don't. The lobby and bar area smelled strongly of air freshener which was a tad overpowering - these synthetic smells are an allergen / irritant for some folks (me included).

First time staying here and I must say it was absolutely amazing. From the friendly staff to the comfort of the rooms and the superb breakfast, everything was spot on. The room was spacious and comfortable, easily fitting two adults and two kids. I’m usually very picky with hotels—coming from Cyprus and being used to luxury hotels, I often find some places abroad a disappointment. But this one exceeded my expectations. The staff were fantastic—when my daughter had a small accident closing her fingers in a door, they were quick to help and immediately cheered her up. Especially Lily, who was super helpful, and the lovely lady (I didn’t catch her name) who kindly showed us where our car was parked, both went above and beyond. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and even a make-your-own waffles station, which was such a fun touch for the girls. Well done, and thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable!

The hotel was a 10 minutes walk away from the main centre and the venue for the wedding we were attending. It also had parking, making it very easy when we arrived. The staff were incredible, we had to attend a wedding during the check in time and they had our room ready for when we arrived, allowing us to get settled and changed for it. So friendly and accommodating.

Although the parking was good, it’s a shame you have to pay for it and quite expensive. We have also come home to a parking fine despite paying for it. Breakfast was good and great choice, but the cooked breakfast could be improved, eggs tasted like powered egg almost and sausages very cheap.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was ready before the official check-in time, and the personnel at the reception assisted with my every need while being exceptionally nice. The location is also just 10 minutes from the city centre, but you can also enjoy the river in the opposite direction, which is close by as well. The room was clean.

The room was very basic, with a small window that couldn’t be opened and no mini-fridge. English breakfast isn’t really my cup of tea, so I didn’t have much to eat. Since they don’t cook on-site, there’s not much you can customize or alter.

I was checking in late on Saturday , having had to go straight to the venue where I was singing in a concert after travelling by train from Edinburgh . The young woman at reception ( sorry I was too tired by then to note her name) was delightful - very friendly and helpful . She gave me excellent advice on how I should get to the train station early the next morning . Comfy bed and very effective and easy to use air con. Breakfast was really good - just what I needed to fuel me on the long journey back home !

This is not really a criticism , but it took me ages to find the hairdryer and hanging space!! A wee note somewhere advising visitors about ‘the secret alcove ‘would be helpful. If you’re there by yourself , when you go into the bathroom , you close the door , so don’t see it. Then it’s covered up again when you open the door and come out. I couldn’t get the tv to work , but it was late and I wasn’t bothered . It would have been nice to catch up wi breakfast news in the morning tho. Again, not a criticism - probably me not pressing the right button - but some instructions would be good.

Staff absolutely welcoming. Had a close bereavement so arrived at this hotel very emotional but hid my emotions. On checking in The Manager Ferderica was so supportive and kind. Had problems with my heating personally came up to my room after another staff member who kindly brought up some ice for me as I had a fall so using mobility aid. I even had a hug from Federica. I was even provided with a heater. Other occasions Ferderica was just attentive helping me with the lift and asking after my wellbeing. Absolutely wonderful. There were other wonderful staff that embraced my conversation because I was soo low needed to speak with someone about general stuff. Jack and Fran were wonderful. Jack was just so welcoming and enjoyed our conversations.. The hotel was extremely busy that weekend as they had a lot of guests being booked in for an annual Christian convention that i myself was attending. Yet they made time gladly to speak with me. Ben too was lovely.and Iram. All have excellent customer services very professional and nothing seems to be too much to ask. Although I didn't request a lot from them. There was another staff member older gentleman who even offered to knock my door as a wake up call as I was concerned about not waking up in time for convention and he was also helpful. There was another staff member who was lovely helped me with my dress but removing some strings. The staff member who provided my evening meal twice also very supportive. She brought up my soup and roll on my first day as I was struggling and also tried to sort out the heating. I went to the beach on Monday and Ferderica was helpful in providing information about it and asked me on my return home I enjoyed it. Just sooo caring. I had to thank the staff with some chocolate and a card. Really appreciated their kindness and going the extra mile in making me feel so welcome.

Nothing. The only problem I had was that because of my severe mobility I could not walk far so I was unable to walk to the restaurant area which was only 10 mins walk away. however there was a premier shop across the road that sold hot bakery stuff or there is sufficient menu although it was a bit expensive for me so I couldn't utilise everyday that I was there. But there is a good variety. Had it twice.

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in in the UK. The room was extremely spacious and contained extra comforts such as a small sofa, well-placed TV and sockets and plenty of mirrors for getting ready. The bathroom was modern and everything was very clean and well-kept. The room and bed were very comfortable, especially the pillows. We also appreciated the fact that soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were available. All the staff were fantastic also and were very willing to help as much as they could.

The only thing we thought could have been improved was the breakfast, as the juice and eggs didn’t taste very fresh and there didn’t seem to be a very large range of hot food. The waffles were great though.

We use Hampton by Hilton fairly often and are rarely disappointed. The rooms are comfortable & clean and have all the facilities you need for a stay including tea/coffee facilities & an Iron. The breakfast although promoted as complimentary will be included in the room tariff ! The breakfast offerings are very good though, with a wide selection on offer, both hot & cold. I very much compare the Hampton by Hilton brand to a really good Premier Inn.

It's the same in any hotel nowadays, you have to ring reception to tell them to let you control the heating !! Rooms tend to be cold when you arrive and because you can't immediately control the temperature, it doesn't give a warm feeing on arrival, but that's my only negative comment.

Really lovely and helpful staff throughout, especially at reception. The rooms are quite large & very clean. The bathroom was nice & had a great shower. One of our rooms (booked 2) had an issue with the bathroom door and it was fixed quickly once we let reception know. We were attending an event at Kelham Island and it was a great location for that.

It seemed a little bit expensive overall. Completely a preference thing, but I didn't find the bed comfy, bit too hard and for the price, a larger bed would be good. While most of the breakfast choices were nice (+ a good selection available), the scrambled egg was horrible - a really odd taste!! (I see others have said this too, wish I'd have read that before trying it as it made both my husband and I feel queasy). Great to have parking available, but it was very tight.
