If you're looking for an affordable stay in Beirut without compromising on comfort, this hotel is a great option. The bed was surprisingly comfortable — probably the highlight of the room — and made all the difference after long days out. The bathroom was clean and the space was just right, though I’d say it’s more ideal for solo travelers, especially if you're staying for a longer period. The location in Hamra is convenient — not smack in the middle of all the noise or traffic, but still close enough to everything by car. I used to love Hamra more back in the day, and while it’s changed, it’s still a decent spot to be based. I didn’t get to try the pool or gym, but having those available is definitely a nice bonus for the price.

The room was very spacious, as well as the beds. It had plenty of room for two people with large suitacases. The room was also well equipped. The staff was very kind and the location was prime, surrounded by many shops and restaurants. The bar downstairs was very convenient!

The room on the pictures looked a bit more alive, decorated and with an ambience and this wasn't the case. The walls are very thin, we could hear the TV on the room next to ours. Also, the breakfast that is included is the same thing every day, which after 2 or 3 days it is not enjoyable anymore. Lastly, the rooftop opening hours were very unfortunate as we were out early and back late so we never had a chance to see it.

My stay was super nice. Staff were super friendly and polite. I was so impressed by the service there. Housekeeping team were super helpful. Also I enjoyed the pool on the rooftop, the bartender and the waiter were very friendly. Food also was super delicious. Em Nazih restaurant on the first floor was super convenient. Delicious food and friendly team. Was really worth the money and worth staying there. Location wise was amazing. I would definitely recommend it.

Nothing I didn’t like about the property. It is just they closed the pool early (second week of my stay) and it wasn’t mentioned before when I booked. And to be honest I booked there because of the pool. But I enjoyed it in my first week of stay.

Great place to explore the city of Beirut and the area of Hamra. Unfortunately the pool was closed until mid April but roof top area looks inviting.

As we have stayed for 5 days at the HUG, the breakfast was 5 mornings the same - unfortunately no variation. We booked a tour with the hotel and the hotel-own driver is very nice and friendly, but should be better prepared as acting as a English speaking guide: knowledge about the city/country, recommendation to Lebanese food places...not fast food places.

I stayed in both single room and shared dormitory and both met my expectations in terms of space, cleanliness and comfort. Positive point for the common area outside the shared room and the privacy of the beds in the bunk beds. The cleaning team was very kind, especially the guy from Liberia. The reception staff was helpful (sometimes times more than others), I'm grateful to Ahmed who gave me the best tips on how to go to Baalbeck without spending a lot. The pool is very nice and the bar staff is very kind too.

The soap holder in the men's shared room was broken and had not been repaired. The location of the hotel is very good but the "nightlife" in the Hamra neighborhood disappointed me a little. If you are looking for better bar options, it is better to stay closer to Armenia Street.

I stayed at the urban garden for 5 nights in a bunk bed in the ladies only dorm. The whole place is absolutly spotless, well kept and cared for. Well done to the cleaning team, not easy job and they doing it great! The bed was super confy and the shower with good pressure and very hot. Every evening i would find fresh tea and typical sweets in the common area which i believe came from the hostel. Nice touch! The restaurant is lively and to my surprise food was excellent and not overpriced. All staff including cleaning staff had a very good to perfect english. At the reception which is the first point of connection between a guest and the business i met Houssam, what can i say. Extremelly professionally, easy to talk to, very accomodating and above all he cared. He cared abt the clients and about his work - a rare thing these days. I must add that all staff at reception were great and very helpful but Houssam had to be mentioned for the honest care i felt. Absolutly incredible person and worker.

We had a really nice time at this hotel. There were some issues that I had a concern about, but the manager was very nice and he addressed each one of my concerns. The hotel is very pretty and it has a very nice restaurant with very tasty food. It has a beautiful pool and a bar on the upper floor and the staff is very congenial. There is also a very nice gym in the hotel that is free for guests. It's a very nice place to stay in Beirut.

There were some things that the manager took care of for us like a slow Internet and a electrical box that was broken, and the toilet showerhead had a leak. These things were graciously resolved for us right away by the manager, and we felt very taken care of.

They used some material to clean the water which made it weird, you feel the shampoo is not getting out from your hair and body, we thought like is water is mixed with sewage water but no smell, so when we asked them about it they clarified the issue. I also suggest that they change the kettles since the kettle handle become extremely hot and someone might get burned in case he didn’t pay attention

It was my first time in Beirut, Lebanon. The location of Hamra Urban Gardens is great. Lots of small shops selling Lebanese food and restaurants nearby. One can explore the area easily on foot. Hotel staff were all friendly. However, Wissam made such an impression as a receptionist. He is kind-hearted, willing to help and reliable. The dorm offered a nice place to meet other travellers and to share experiences in Lebanon and the world.

Smoking regulation within the hotel interior area should be reviewed. The sitting area in front of the male and female dorm rooms were often used for smoking by hotel guests and hotel's cleaning staff. Even if they smoke on the outdoor terrace, they keep the door open and naturally the smoke goes into the room.

The rooms were clean, but could have been cleaner. Little things like emptying the trash, or the bottom of the shower, or taking away towels and not replacing them, no toilet brush.. Nothing that couldn't be solved by asking the helpful staff, so just a bit of a hassle..
