Staff were helpful when I asked for info

The room facilities like the bathroom were old and run down. The balcony was unappealing and not well maintained

Attic is in the middle of the heritage zone, easy access to sites and street food. With the amount we paid, it's value for money if you're looking for a simple and comfortable stay. It has backpacker vibes and have spaces to meet other fellow travelers.

It's on the second floor of a building, so if you have bigger luggage, it can be challenging to carry them up. When we arrived, the front desk was out having lunch and we had to wait for 1 hour, wished the check-in could be more efficient. Felt like there is a rooftop bar or space but it was not open or communicated, that would be a nice touch to the vibes and space.

For me it was most beuatiful place to stay on our road. It was in great locality in the centre with many restaurants and shops, everything was "behind the corner". It was easy to find adress when we arrived. Receptionist was very kind, we get discount to 2. room (I had booked only this one). We had drink water in both rooms and also we can buy another one directly on recption in the morning before our trip. My room was very spacious and I felt really comfortable here. Me and my brother liked the atmosphere of the accomodation. If I ever return to Penang, I will definitely check out here.

I don't remeber anything extra disturbing, was it ever heard guests from other rooms, the creaking of the bed or running water in the toilet.

Despite my room's description including a "desk" my first room didn't have a desk (which I need for working on a laptop). However, staff changed my room the following day. This is a self-check-in/out hotel with absolutely NO staff on duty outside of office hours. As a woman on my own, I felt a little nervous, especially at first. And if you have a query (I arrived after the staff had left) there's no one to help or even call (it took me hours to find out how to turn on the a/c, plus the room safe didn't work, for example).

We were in room 7 and it was very loud with street noise, and noise from plumbing in other rooms. Shower was also dangerously hot even when set on coolest temperature (we let the staff know, so hopefully they fix it)

Good location, close to everything and many choices of food restaurants, the receptionist was great and very welcoming.

I had a hard time with the bathroom hot water temperature, there was no soap in the bathroom.

Great location in the centre of Georgetown close to all food, historic and cultural locations. The room was spacious, clean and well maintained. I would absolutely stay here again if visiting Penang.

Street noise at night was loud, but that is no fault of the hotel as the windows are thick. Would prefer a traditional doona rather than the thick blankets provided, but still warm and comfortable.

Stay at ATTIC for 4 days 3 nights. What an amazing experience as a first timer to Penang. The location is right in the middle of George Town, with very close access on foot to almost all the itineraries that have been arranged. Close to famous eating places, historical buildings, unique shops, markets, souvenir centers. When we checked in, we were given a surprise because we were given a room upgrade to the most spacious room with AC which was turned on as soon as we arrived 💙 We stayed in room No.1 with a balcony. Here's a review of our room: 1. The mattress is very firm and comfortable. It's really comfortable to rest after walking thousands of steps every day. 2. Clean bathroom. Even though it is connected to the toilet, they use a type of floor that dries quickly. The hot water setting is right, the water pressure is right. There is also water spray in the toilet with more than enough tissue stock. 3. The AC is very large and can cool the outside room (around 300ft area) 4. There is a heating kettle and complimentary coffee and candy 5. There are refillable drinking bottles in the pantry, very helpful compared to having to walk to buy bottled water at the minimarket. 6. The balcony is spacious and pleasant to chill when the weather is not too hot. 7. Curtain blinds function well, they can block hot light from outside so that you can rest comfortably in your room. 8. The room is cleaned well (just hang a sign on the door when you want to go out in the morning) In general, we highly recommend this hotel because: 1. The staff is very friendly and provides travel guidance for beginners (fluent in Indonesian). You can even provide recommendations for various activities and activities in Penang in the future. 2. The pantry is clean and has complete facilities for eating and drinking. Although you are not allowed to eat in the room, it is very understandable because this is a boutique hotel in an old building).

To start, I’d like to mention how the entrance staircase looks very welcoming and very artistic. The way it is situated right in the center of Penang Street, Chulia Street, and Kimberly Street Foodies, is pretty convenient to me.

Nothing about the property I don’t like but just a note to other travelers, that there’s a bar opposite the hotel. They open at 4pm or so and closed at 3am. There is also a construction work near the hotel, so randomly during the evening they’ll somehow start working. It gets a little annoying if you’re back earlier to the hotel room.

Location was great for food. Staff very warm and friendly. He was very helpful to give some pointers of what is around the area. Layout and deco of the room and overall hotel was great!

The shower. There were no instructions on how to use it. And it was very difficult to adjust. Although there was warning about the shower being very hot, we were unable to figure out how to adjust it on the 1st night and got scalded. Bathroom partition is not up to the ceiling so it is awkward hearing the noise from the toilet. And for Room 7, the toilet bowl area was not even frosted hence anyone in the room has full clear view of the person using the toilet bowl.
