The location is super good. It is in the middle of George Town. We walked to all the attractions (Jetties, Little India, St George's Church, Fort Cornwallis, etc) on foot. Food stores and food markets were just a 5min walk away. Convenient self-check in, there were water dispensers with hot and cold water on each floor, the shower was hot, beds were clean and room was neat. Well, it was just fit for two girls. If you are big guys, then you might think the twin room is too small. Staff were super helpful. We checked out at noon and were able to leave our luggage for free until 5pm.

There were limited hangers in the room. After hanging the towels, then we did not have any hangers for our jackets. There were no shelves, or any surface areas where I could put my cup of water to take medicine inside the room (there were chairs and tables only in the common areas). If there were at least a shelf, it would be great.

The location is actually walking distance to most attractions, making it the best place if you love to walk around. But parking is hard to find. I was riding a motorcycle here, so it was fine, but if you come with your car, parking is quite difficult (but it is Penang, right). The room I stayed in has a window that opens to natural sunlight coming from an open space in the middle of the hotel. It is a nice hotel. The room was nice, but if you are not into climbing to your bed, then this is not it.

Nothing much. Everything seemed to be tolerable.

Loved the double sinks, the spacious bathroom, the lovely balcony overlooking the streets of Penang! It is in a very very good location. Love love loved the water dispensers on every floor and the vending machine located on the first. We also liked the luggage storage facilities and the table in the lobby to work after we have checked out. The whole process of late check in was very convenient with the key drop too!

The walls are a little thin, so you may fall asleep to the sounds of the KTV opposite belting out tunes late into the night. There were also quite a few power trips that caused a little inconvenience when we were working in the day and also at night because it gets a little hot! All that sad, it can’t be helped because of the nature of the shophouse and we would still highly recommend and come back for future stays!

I liked everything about this place! The design and comfort of the property made it a great spot to relax, and the guy Bali staff were truly wonderful and helpful during my stay. They were always ready to assist with a smile and made me feel very welcome, which made my experience even better.

One thing I didn’t like was that when I was late for checkout by just one hour, they shut off the lights and electricity even though I had informed them and was going to pay the extra charges. It felt a bit stressful and could have been handled in a more understanding way.

The location of the hotel was great. Very easily walkable to all of the different spots in old town and a short grab ride away to the newer part of town. The shower had hot water and there was filtered water at the hotel. There was not daily cleaning, which was fine with us, but an FYI. There is also no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up/down stairs and walk up/down those daily to access the room.

The wifi was terrible. We were on the second floor and we could never get a signal to reach our room (it only worked in the lobby for us), so we had to turn on our data to use while in the room.

The location is perfect!! Staff was friendly and helpful. The room is modern and offers most what you need. Very hot shower if you give the heater some time ;-) Shower screen! I didn't had any problem with climbing the ladder, even after some drinks. AC was working fine. Bed was comfy. Complementary water dispenser, with cold water. In total the price was okay for me.

The smell in the room after beeing out for some time was not nice. After a couple of minutes you didn't smell it anymore. But it was not humid in the room. A fridge would be nice. Also a table or another side board would be good. The sound from doors and hallway is quite loud in the room, but i didn't had a sound isolated room in most hotels in Asia. ;-)

Love this place. Everything is just right. Simple minimalist design. The amenities are basic but enough for a no-fuss traveller. The loft bed is awesome, just like sleeping in a cocoon. Which is also a tiny problem for a slightly old person like me 😅. FYI it is not disabled and elderly friendly. Kids will need extra caution. Location-wise, it is within walking distance of most local eateries. It is the same row as Hameediyah. Will recommend it to friends and family.

It’s not often that I give the full points for a hotel but that’s what Kooning deserves. Of course, everything is related to own objective and expectations. I was looking for: -Good central location in Georgetown -Quite, Cozy and daylight -Clean -Space -Good WLan -fair rate -a comfortable bed I got everything an on top very stylish room as well. I was already traveling a lot in Asia but this one is my absolute favourite and I would always come back. Bagage can be stored until 8 PM just due the fact that the counter is not present overnight. Cool and hot water for free and some drinks and snacks all the time available.

Good location, close to Little India, Campbell, Armenian and Chulia Street. Very easy to access all the main attractions by taxi/grab as well. Very friendly and approachable staff. Easy self check-in.

No elevator in case you bring heavy bags. We booked a standard room and in terms of cleaning it was not the best, bad smell in the room as well and some maintenance required. We were moved to a deluxe room for the 2nd night due to ac problem and that was a much better option, i recommend you go for the more expensive room, it’s totally worth it. I appreciated how fast the staff changed my room even if it was 10PM when i contacted them via watsapp and they provided me a superior room as mentioned before.

The location is really very good with good delicious popular food. If any one like cat cafe, there is one a few shops to the left. The dim sum resturant next door is also quite nice and they open till 10pm. So it seem quite safe for walking at night. My room seem good for me. The lobby is spacious to take a rest after walking around. And the spacious small garden and self help drinking water a added adventage.

Nothing, I can manage with the bunk bed😊 but really not reccomend to those who afraid of height.
