I stay at The Guillieru Harbour Hotel because it is fairly quiet, has lovely views across St Paul’s Bay and is well placed for buses up to the best beaches at Mellieha and Armier Bay. The buses to Sliema and Valletta are very frequent also and there is a stop 50 yards from the hotel. It is an easy stroll along the promenade to very nice bars and restaurants. My room was comfortable, if a little dated, and I had everything I needed, including tea & coffee and toiletries. The English breakfast was good but I would have liked a variety of bread rolls. I didn’t like the machine coffee but I bought a really good coffee from the bar for €2.20. There were always staff available in the foyer if you needed anything

Considering the location, there was nowhere to sit out and enjoy the wonderful view apart from on your balcony. I went in mid September and the pool bar was closed, the pool wasn’t heated and I just think it could be so much better with a little imagination.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We liked that there was filtered water available on every floor and the breakfast had a variety of choices both cooked and continental. Room was large and had all we needed with good A/C. The location was perfect for us as it is in a quieter area of St Paul's Bay but close to the boat dock for trips to the blue lagoon. There is also a lovely bar just down the stairs from the hotel which is cheap and cheerful for food and drinks.

The pool area is a bit tired but it does the job and there is a lovely space next to the harbour that hotel guest can use to swim in the sea (lots of fish!) with a bar and sun loungers.

Nice hotel with a beautiful sea view! The rooms were comfortable, with great balconies to enjoy the view. The location was very convenient, with plenty of good places to eat nearby. We also appreciated the free water dispensers available on every floor and in the rooms. Since we spent most of our time sightseeing, we can’t say much about staying at the hotel during the day. The swimming pool with salt water was also very nice. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

1) We didn’t realize that free towels were provided. We only found out on the last day of our stay that they should have been available in our room. When we asked at reception, we received them right away. It’s a pity we didn’t know earlier, as we would have loved to use them throughout the week. 2) We tried to join the hotel’s free concert, but the waiters told us we couldn’t because it was supposedly ending in 10 minutes. They wouldn’t let us sit down or order (we only wanted drinks). Later, we discovered the concert actually lasted for an hour or more, so we ended up listening from our balcony. It was disappointing, especially since there were free tables available.

I have stayed at the Gillieru twice before, so knew what to expect. The staff ni reception, particularly Ariana are wonderful and very helpful. The room was perfect (side sea view) I had a generous balcony overlooking the boats and loved it. Personally I think the hotel has some old Malta charm. The bedrooms and wardrobes etc could do with a repaint, as there are chips etc...but this is a little thing. The price is good and it is so easy to get a bus from Mosta road towards Valletta, Naxxar or Sliema. There is a nice sunbathing area and the pool is saltwater. It is sometimes billed as 4 star, but I would put it at a good 3 star. Everything you need for a comfortable and well priced stay. I didn't have breakfast as there are plenty of options around, especially the little cabin to the right,out of the doors and walk down. Coffee is 1 euro etc. Well worth the money paid.

Not much. A kareoke under my window on 2 nights (I was there for 13 nights) but it wasn't that bad. I think it stopped at 11 or 12. I don't like the fact that you have to pay for a safe. This would be better included in the room rate.

We enjoyed our stay with balconies and sea views, decent space and facilities and a comfortable bed. The foyer and public spaces are good and attractive, with a fine location on the sea front. The hotel certainly looks the business on arrival and feels more authentic than some others we walked past. There is a swimming pool for guests that is open for most of the day (not supervised) accessed from the second floor, on the roof of the restaurant. The restaurant is used for breakfast and later in the day as two eateries, one aiming at finer dining, the other for more regular fare The hotel staff were friendly professional and helpful as were those providing the breakfast service. The value for money was reasonable and the overall feeling was of a hotel that has more character than some of the modern 'glass box' offerings, although they would have a higher quality finish to individual rooms.

Our corner room on the second floor was a bit tired. Although some recent work with a paintbrush had apparently been done. But there are some deficiencies that would take a bit more fixing, such as no bathroom extract fan, air conditioning that sort of worked, and bathroom tiling etc that let the room down. The room didn't feel that it was in the same league as the public areas, which was a pity. These things would take a good deal of time and money to sort out. How important they are to a guest would depend on how fastidious you are, but they did cheapen the experience a bit. However most modern hotels would be rather better finished than this. Some waiting staff in the 'fine dining' restaurant were rather pretentious. However:

The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice balcony with a great view to the sea. The desk on the room is good enough to work from a computer for some days.

The shower requires maintenance, the water was either ice cold or boiling hot making it hard to take a shower. Even after a technician tried to fix it wasn’t solved completely.

Location was excellent and staff were very helpful and accommodating. We were due to check out in the morning and had plans for the rest of the day until the flight home at 21.30. Unfortunately I was unwell so we had to cancel our plans. The staff were able to arrange for us to keep our room until later in the afternoon so that I could rest for as long as possible.

I found that the fitted sheets weren't quite deep enough for the mattress so get coming off so I would often wake up with my pillow on the mattress not the sheet.

Location was superb our room overlooked the bay fabulous view , plenty of choice for breakfast cereal yogurt , croissants breads . Reception staff lovely special thanks to Laurence who had a word and a smile every time we passed reception a real assest to the team.

The hot food wasnt very hot no matter what time you went for breakfast bacon , egg sausages cold I had read this previously on other reviews and it was still the same its a shame as everything else is good . A few maintenance issues grout round shower and window could be replaced.

Lovely hotel, clean and comfortable. Allowed us to use the facilities before check in time. The cocktails were phenomenal. Booked a street view room and was upgraded (kind of) to a slightly sea view room. Breakfast was tasty and all staff were friendly and helpful.

Felt like our room was one of the smaller rooms. Pool area is high up and exposed to winds, view obstructed by buildings. Lots of loud construction works during the day (assuming time of year). Were not informed of facilities, WiFi, breakfast on check in but was easy to get the information so not a massive gripe.

The location is simply phenomenal, the pool is lovely and the staff were so sweet and kind. This is my second time staying at this hotel and I loved it all over again! The room was quiet and spacious, breakfast was tasty and great that there are so many cafes nearby also. The view from the pool is so gorgeous over St. Paul's bay, and it's easy to get to Gozo from the hotel (as well as everywhere else!)

Sometimes could spot a few hairs from previous guests in the bathroom on towels and on the floor but nothing of great concern
