Everything. The breakfast, the food in the restaurants, the pool areas, the general attention to detail is like nothing ive seen before. The staff were all so warm and helpful. The valet staff were so efficient. My wide loved the spa, not my thing but it looked beautiful inside. it was our honeymoon and every person went over and above to make sure we were happy and well looked after. They included a complimentry wedding package, which was also a nice touch. The breach is arguably the best beach on the island. we drove around to see them all and got back to realise we had it pretty good where we were staying. Id go as far as to say our meal in the japanese restaurant is up there with one of the best i've had. exceptionally good, and convenient with it being in the hotel.

The only problem is that the hotel is so good, it made the rest of the island seem not as good. When going outside the hotel for dinner/drinks, we often deciuded to go back to the hotel for desert/drinks as the chefs are just amazing and the service is what you want on holiday. There's a lot of reviews commenting on the price. it is on the more expensive side to stay, eat, drink, but what you are getting is a higher standard in all areas. It's not a budget hotel and there is a Lux down the road which is also nice and less cost if that is a concern... With this hotel you get that feeling of exclusivity and luxury. Not loads of screaming kids running around and drunken stag parties. The most relaxing stay we have had in years.

Lovely lovely beach and good location to access adjoining town. A fairly new hotel so all areas are in excellent condition screaming luxury. The entrance foyer is quite impressive and the bedrooms are fully tech-ed up. Fab shower! Attentive staff. Asian fusion restaurant - very good quality and smartly designed. Must give it a go. I’m not one for revisiting a hotel or location but I’d definitely think about returning. Oh almost forgot to mentioning the breakfast setup which was first class. All in all this is a real winner for me.

The lunch time restaurant offering was very poor and repetitive not to mention $$$$ Watch out for the dreaded mini bar with little ‘home made’ chocolate bars costing an arm and leg. I had an issue with charges for items I hadn’t used but it was sorted out. Keep an eye on that. I had spa treatments most days and whilst the therapies were billed as different, they were really just the same. Don’t bother their facials as they’re relatively poor .It’s really more a massage spa. Lovely spa staff. Do not be tempted to upgrade to a Luxe Pool Residence as they are across the road behind the hotel and the hotel is accessed via a bridge over the road. Not nice! No views whatsoever, unlike the junior suites which are spacious, slick and very well appointed.

Outstanding location and extraordinary service received from all LUX staff and special thanks goes to our amazing nice butler Avinass who received all of our requests and in no time provide immediate feedback with a very respectful manner.

Although I have no issues with those however just suggestion to install curtain in the living room would be much appreciated for Muslem visitors. Also, more verity of international food during dinner time will give Arab people more options.

Everything literally everything. Pools: heated Breakfast: delicious Japanese restaurant: costy but AMAZING Rooms: spacious and very clean Kids club: amazing and clean- very nice staff Beach and water activities: amazing What else!!?? Worth every penny.

Just note: it is an hour plus drive to airport and other famous attractions (casela and tamarind etc) Book this hotel to stay in, relax and enjoy but not to visit outside- for that you can book in flec-en-flac area.

Loved the staff and the sustainability program, pool temp was good. Great property, awesome beach and access to water sports.

The food was only ok, in the evening the only real choice was the speciality Asian resteraunt that was smart attire and always booked full. The one time we went was good though. The main resteraunt had a Buffet every night that was way too expensive if you just wanted a light meal and the back up al a carte menu was rubbish! The kids club was really nice but our little girl did not like being there at all - unusual for her and I think the staff struggled to keep her entertained is it was empty.

This hotel was the most amazing place I have stayed at to date. We finally had booked our honeymoon a year after getting married due to covid. The staff were incredible, nothing we asked for was too much. I can’t remember everyone’s name but Salim is an excellent barista, your coffees set us up for the day. Jerome, thank you for all your hints and tips about what we should do while we are in Mauritius, based on your advice we hired a car and had an absolutely fantastic time. Vick - thank you to you and all your staff for making sure we were always fed well! It being navratri meant that I was limited for options as I also wasn’t eating eggs but nothing was too much for you all. Wahida - thank you so much for our lovely welcome. Kay - thank you for the lovely honeymoon extras you arranged for us. I also can’t remember the bar members name but someone made me a fantastic litchi mock tail which wasn’t on the menu… thank you! The room was a beautiful suite, much larger than I imagined with a lovely terrace, we stayed in 1106 which is on the beach side, I am not sure if I would have been so impressed had I been based on the other side of the road but we had no complaints. The beach was a 2 min walk from reception, it was a small stretch but beautiful. The one thing I’d mention is that there is a lot of coral so it would be worth getting swim shoes just to be a bit more comfortable, this didn’t however stop us having fun in the sea. Spa facilities are included but you do have to reserve a time slot. When we went there was only one other person there and it was very impressive. We left feeling completely zen after going through each of the different experiences - the ice bucket is a must!!

Lux Grand Baie is modern and new (relative to their other properties). If you are unsure which Lux to stay at on the island, we stayed at both Le Morne and Grand Baie and I would recommend staying at both and splitting your time. They offer very different experiences. Le Morne is more tropical paradise / holiday beach vibes. Grand Baie is more upmarket high end hotel with stunning beach and pools. Facilities are excellent with a state of the art gym, spa (free use for hotel guests), 3 pools and spacious rooms. The interior design is top spec and ensures a relaxing stay. Staff are helpful, particularly at the fitness centre. Loungers are plentiful and comfortable. Location is OK the north is generally better protected from the wind and if it’s cloudy it clears quickly. Hotel manager will do anything to ensure your stay is pleasant. Asian restaurant is world class. Rooms are very spacious. Can’t beat the views!

Do not expect European standards of cuisine. Breakfast was very poor as was dinner at Cafe Rouge. Not up to 5* standard. However their Asian restaurant was superb, the best on the island. Mauritius in general had poor food options. At the Asian, they manage to import the best ingredients. I wouldn’t recommend half board or all inclusive, the food quality isn’t good enough for the price. Service is hit and miss, fitness staff are excellent, the rest is average. Pools can be noisy, there are no adult only areas. Beach is not deep, feels as though guests are ontop of each other. All fitness classes come at a significant extra cost which is a surprise for a hotel of this standard / price.
