such a beautiful house, you’ll feel like in a family ambiance, the room was big , clean and comfortable, the pool are nice and have a wonderful view

the property is far from the city and from the tourists place so you need to spend a lot with taxi that is so expensive, and the breakfast is not good it’s ok don’t expect like a hotel breakfast

Stayed 6 nights at Villa Anakao with my family. The experience overall was very good. On arrival at 11:00AM, Patricia interacted with us. We were offered a cold towel and cold drinks for refreshments. Since we were early, the room was getting cleaned. We completed the check-in process and were in the room by 12:00PM. The family room on the first floor up a steep flight of stairs was spacious and had a outdoor seating area. The AC was functional keeping the room comfortably cool. The bathroom and shower area were small but functional. The ceilings next to the bed headboard were low and care was needed to not hit the roof while accessing this particular side of the room. The room also had a small refrigerator which we used to store drinks during the stay. The villa has a lot of history. The sea is right behind the villa but there is a rocky ledge and hence, sea is not accessible. There is a gate access to the sea but is not the most convenient. A beach within walking distance of the villa is the best option. We had lunch (at the outdoor seating area) and dinner (in room) on the first day. The food was tasty and filling and the price was in line with what you would get in restaurants outside. The breakfast options were limited to bread slices, cheese slices, jams, honey, eggs done in various ways, waffles, pancakes, fruits etc. along with coffee. The coffee comes from a machine which happens to be a bit finicky. There is a friendly dog (Zulu) on the property. Kids would enjoy interacting with it. Patricia was around to answer any questions. Another gentleman, whose name I forgot, helped us with some tips on places to visit. We were very satisfied with the stay, we mostly spent the nights given that we left the villa at 9:30AM in the morning and returned at 9:00PM on all the days. I would recommend the villa to anyone who is looking for a more economical option along with history and character.

1. The finicky coffee machine 2. Some communication challenges during breakfast time (French versus English) 3. Rental car needed when staying at villa as it about 5 kms from Port Louis. Commuter bus runs on the road outside the villa but timings are a challenge. Having a rental car for the trip solves the location issue

The Villa is beautiful with a beautiful pool and view onto the sea. The staff were so lovely and friendly and I felt completely safe as a solo female traveller. The breakfast was great - chice of eggs, pancakes, waffles, fruit every morning, and I had the set dinner which was also delicious and freshly made.

I think in order to make the best of the hotel you need to have your own hire car - it is not really near any nice beaches - although you can get a bus or taxi to get around if you need to.

Friendly staff, welcoming us from the first minute. Beautiful house with direct seaview. We used them as a first stop after l anding in Mauritius and it turned out to be a good choice! Very relaxed atmosphere and nobody is rushing you. Lovely garden and some (also very relaxed) pets around. Dinners were a simple but tasty affair. The WiFi is excellent, makes this also an option for a business traveler with appointments in Port Louis, if you want some peace and quiet just 15 minutes by car from the city center. Price for accommodation and food is perfectly reasonable. Would recommend and visit again!

This guest house is a gem, but the surrounding area is not very clean, it's more of an industrial area. Once you're inside you no longer notice, though. If you've got long hair, it may be advisable to bring your own hairdryer - the one provided looks like it's from the 1950s and didn't look all that safe (I'm sure it's perfectly fine, but perception is everything 😃)

We have booked the seaside bungalow. It was absolutely marvelous. Albeit slightly higher priced than the other rooms, it was worth every penny. Throughout the entire night, we could hear the tranquil sounds of the waves as the balcony is literally 1-2 meters apart from the ocean. Such a unique experience! Other highlights include: - Awesome staff, very nice and helpful people - Amazing and versatile meals (you can request dinner as well for a fee) - Cozy environment - Ample space to park your car if applicable to you (just be careful not to park to a spot where you risk coconuts falling on your car :)) - Cute and friendly dog Overall, highly recommended.

- A bit far away from all notable beaches or attractions. Recommend to rent a car / scooter. - WiFi connectivity was not very reliable in the seaside bungalow. (it was however better in the common areas, e.g., the dinner place)

All the staff are lovely and friendly. Beautiful surroundings. Gardens and trees are lovely. Everything is in great condition. The food at the hotel is great and healthy. Bed was very comfortable. Our 2 bedroom suite was roomy. Lovely views out to sea and the sunsets can be awesome over the Indian Ocean.

Beautiful villa and elegant Mauritian interior right on the ocean, and 20 minutes drive from city centre. Our room had a separate sitting room and bathroom with a big seafacing balcony. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

No restaurants or attractions within walking distance - unless you plan to just laze by the pool when the weather allows. (Staff will call a taxi if you need one)

This was a perfect oasis of calm just outside of Port Louis. It was very easy to take the bus or taxi to the city. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and kind. I especially appreciated Yann and Ben, who answered all of my Port Louis questions and helped me figure out transportation. I went ahead and paid for the dinner each night and I was so glad that I did. Delicious home cooked three-course meals for a reasonable price. They were even able to accommodate my vegetarian diet. The hotel would always set separate tables for each party, but sometimes I would start chatting with the other guests and we would move our tables together. The hotel attracted a very friendly tourists from many different places. The beds were comfortable and I liked the room decorations. Port Louis empties out around 16:30 every day, which was the perfect time to come home to Villa Anakao and take a late afternoon dip in the pool before dinner. I saw some pretty spectacular sunsets from the hotel pool! I loved that the hotel had an honour system so that you could help yourself to a beer from the bar whenever you wanted one. I will definitely stay here again if I come to Port Louis!

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and their speed of response when contacted through booking.com was exceptional. The room was large and clean and the terrace was a great addition - it was lovely to sit out in the evening and have a drink. The breakfast was great (eggs, bacon, fruit, pancakes and coffee) and the pool area was very beautiful (which is where you sit for breakfast). The dinner that we had at the hotel one night was also wonderful - an excellent 3 course meal for our last night. There was good space for car parking and the dog that lived at the hotel was very cute, but not excessively friendly - he would visit for a few minutes before moving on.

Although we chose the location because it is fairly central to the island, there is not much around the hotel (shops, bars, restaurants etc.). You would certainly need a car if you were to stay here - it has good access to main roads to the north and south of the island as well as the airport. The bathrooms were a bit outdated, but the water pressure was great in the shower and everything was clean. The bed was a bit hard, but perhaps that's personal taste.

The room and shower room are larger than we would normally expect and there was a large terrace outside the patio door. The hotel fronts directly onto the sea and has a pleasant pool. The breakfast is delicious as was the dinner menu. The staff are friendly and helpful with advice on trips etc.

This is not a reflection on the property but there are no bars or restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In order to find a bar or restaurant you have to travel into Port Louis. The local buses are regular and cheap, but this should be borne in mind if staying in Pointe aux Sables.
