taff were lovely and did anything they could to help. The rooms have plenty of character but sometimes things don't work.... They will do their best to see to anything they can. The pool is great and the breakfast is A La Carte with a few different choices. There is a fridge and hotplate in the room and you can get a kitchen kit (with a security kit). Bed was comfortable and the shower was good. There is also coffee and hot water in the Lobby. The location is good - close to the ADO Central Terminal from the Airport. There is also a large Soriana supermarket very close by and restaurants around. Don't expect modern and you'll get plenty of charm.

I don't want to say anything bad about the place as they were so helpful but, the Wifi in the room is terrible - unstable and weak if it works at all! Its OK by the pool. There is also no microwave in the room but they will help you out in the restaurant if you need one. I would still stay again.

This is the best hotel! It is an oasis of calm which makes you feel like you are in a jungle- surrounded by loads of trees and a perfect sized pool to cool off in the heart of it. There are loungers and hammocks to chill in. The bedroom was larger than expected, with a great bathroom and large soft bed! The staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent and varied. The location is perfect- right by the bus station and markets. I just wish we could have stayed here longer- it's the perfect place to unwind. I love that it's an eco hotel too! We will most definitely be coming back here!

An absolute oasis in downtown Cancun. We used the hotel for a few nights at the start and close of our tour around Mexico due to its proximity to the ADO bus station and easy access to the airport. Large rooms with extra large beds, great A/C, constant WiFi, powerful showers and basic kitchenette facilities suited our needs perfectly. The wonderful pool area, and tropical garden were a real bonus for relaxing All staff were extremely friendly and efficient, particularly Bruno Garcia on reception. Situated in a very safe area next to a large supermarket for cheap food and alcohol. The hotel has an abundance of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk.

I had an amazing stay at Eco-Hotel El Rey del Caribe, and I’d choose it over a big resort any day. If you want a comfortable, welcoming stay with a real sense of Cancun, this is the perfect place. The location is fantastic—just a block and a half from the ADO bus station, making airport transfers and day trips incredibly easy. A grocery store is right across the street, and the food scene nearby is incredible. There are trendy, chef-driven restaurants, casual family-run spots, markets, and food carts in the plaza at night, offering everything from tacos to marquesitas. It’s the full range of local dining, and it’s all within walking distance. The Hotel Zone is just a 10–15 minute drive away, so you can easily get to the beaches when you want. The hotel itself is peaceful and beautiful—even though it’s in the city, it feels like a hidden oasis. The courtyard is full of tropical plants, fountains, and hammocks, making it the perfect place to relax. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-kept, with a kitchenette that was super useful. You can even check out extra cookware from the fantastic front desk staff, who were some of the friendliest and most helpful people I’ve met at a hotel. Security was also solid, with monitored access at the front gate, which added peace of mind. Breakfast was simple but fresh, and there’s a small pool to cool off in. The hotel also puts effort into being eco-friendly, which is great. What really makes it stand out is the warm hospitality, unbeatable location, and great value for the money. If you’re looking for a place that’s comfortable, secure, and lets you experience the real Cancun, I can’t recommend it enough. I’d absolutely stay here again!

Great breakfast every morning. Great staff, friendly, helpful. Loved the jungle atmosphere in the middle of this old lovely hotel. Great pool, yoga, spiritual atmosphere, fountain and birds in the garden. Close to great coffee shop and variety of wonderful restaurants! Appreciated all the ecological efforts! Big compost, separating recyclables. Took hotel zone bus to Las Perlas Beach which was so close, clean, shady spots and not crowded. Loved it all!

Parking not easy but amazing that there is any parking in this busy city location.

Location is perfect, walking distance for anything you need - cafe, shopping mall, bus station. Amazing “hacienda” vibe, a lot of plants, birds, feels really nice to be there. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bed is really big and comfortable, water in the shower has a great pressure. Massage options are available, and my experience with Julia was outstanding, you need to try this for sure.

Breakfast could have more healthy options. You can choose from the little menu, and it’s mostly full of carbohydrates. Also the lights from the corridors were bothering me during the night

We were delayed at the airport, but when we texted the hotel to inform them, we received an immediate reply, which was a relief. We only arrived at the hotel after 24:00, but Bruno, the night receptionist, was still exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was a welcome bonus, and our waiter was very informative about the Mexican dishes and lavish with the coffee. We were impressed with the tropical garden, and the pool was particularly inviting. Overall, this hotel was a great start to our holiday in Yucatan.

The beds were a little soft for our liking, and the shower floor tiles were very slippery.

The coffee at breakfast is appallingly poor. It is all the more shame for Mexico where we expect good coffee. We made a recommendation about coffee to the receptionist who said he would pass it to the kitchen. The next day the same horrible coffee was served, this time it was even worse. We couldn’t recognize it as coffee. It had no taste or aroma of coffee! It can be taken for tea. Overall breakfast is disappointing. There is no butter or jam or honey for the toast nor cereal. Some Staff is not very welcoming. They should be more ready to support guests.

Was given a spacious 2nd floor room after rejecting the first 2 offered (as usual, hotels always try and give Booking.com reservations the furthest away from Reception or darkest etc. rooms) but a little quiet persistence can achieve a better room outcome, as in my case. The tropical courtyard is quite spectacular with its small pool and a wonderfully tranquil space to enjoy. Breakfast (ncluded in price) was really very adequate and served individually and included a juice, small plate of fresh-cut fruit and a couple of choices of either small tortillas or french toast, coffee/tea and served in the courtyard area.
