The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our third floor room had a nice view of the ocean and high ceilings that kept the room cool. the location provides easy access to the beach and the area's night life.

Playa del Carmen is loud and the hotel is in the center of the action. Even on the beach directly in front of the hotel, there is always music blasting from several directions. We found we could escape the worst of it by moving down the beach a bit, but it's just part of the Playa scene. Be prepared. Thankfully our room was relatively quiet, so we were able to sleep just fine.

We had the Superior Double Ocean View (of which there are two) which has a large balcony right on the beach. It's a terrific location. The apartment itself has seen better days but the beds were great, the bathroom functional if a bit worn and the kitchen had only one working burner but the fridge was cold. We often ate take away from Falafel Nessya (outstanding and healthy) or Gusto Gourmet (burritos) on the deck. Lively beach scene and private at the same time. Great staff. We felt very safe.

As it gets sandy inside it would be great if they provided a broom. And fix the second burner!

I stayed in room 208 and loved waking up to a beautiful view of the beach and the ocean. Having a large private deck was wonderful. They even bought me a hammock!

The hotel is dated. Hasnt had any updates since it was built decades ago. Just a warning to others, great location right on the beach, but you need to walk over the sand to get to it. Keep that in mind when trying to find it. Take 4th St to the beach and go right.

We loved this hotel - simple, Mexican style, practical, had everything we needed. Don't expect 5 star and don't be too critical about small things and you won't be disappointed. Amazing location right on the beach and also just a few minutes away from the main walking streets (e.g., Fifth Avenue). Beware that to access the hotel entrance, you need to carry your luggage a little bit in the sand. For us this was not a problem - as we love the beach. On arrival, we were greeted by a really kind gentleman who speaks Spanish (good to brush up on your Spanish before going to Mexico anyway) and was very helpful and caring throughout the whole time. We had a room on the 1st floor with amazing view of the sea. The WIFI in our room was a bit weak - but again, we were there to enjoy the beach and disconnect from everyday life so was not an issue. If you want to do work from there, you'll probably need to find a different solution. I've seen some other reviews about the bar next door - it is true that on some days it was loud when we went to sleep. Having ear plugs with you is a good idea. But on other days, we just joined the party :) The staff next door is also great and very friendly. Great to be able to meet locals and enjoy dancing in the sand by the sea :) Thank you once again Mimi staff!! We hope to be back soon :) Take care.

Perfect location just around the corner from 5th Ave a couple of blocks from the ADO bus station, very convenient. It Is behind hard rock cafe quinta Ave and 4th Ave. The hotel entrance is on the beach side.Great massage by Katy and Jose and very reasonable price. Galia is very friendly too and her husband. Luciano from the bar/restaurant very friendly, all the people who work there are fantastic. We will be back for sure! Thanks!!

Great location, staff friendly & helpful, great A/C, all rooms ocean & pool view, only steps to the beach and 5th ave. It's an old diamond in the rough however; if they put money into it the prices will go up but they should supply items for drinking & eating to make use of mini fridge & coffee pot. Ferry to Cozumel 5 minute walk. Noise did not bother me from bar next door but I was at the back & use good earplugs. No seaweed smell when clean up done, plus beach is kept very clean. I'm staying there again next year with several family members.

Wifi weak at times. No kitchenette like photos show for standard room there's mini fridge & coffee pot (bring your own cup) would've been nice to know prior.

Location hearing the rain come down in the morning and the waves crashing looking out our balcony it was beautiful sound and how we can tan out there in in the tanning chairs and that little bar they have with ceviche it was bomb delicious clear water to swim

They didn’t have a laundry, but there’s one right up the road near 10th St. you could drop your clothes off

Breakfast was delicious 😋. Room was very clean and the location can't be beat. We have stayed here for a number of years now & the staff make us feel like family!!!!

The only minor complaint would be the noise that comes from the soundset business next door -- not loud on weekdays, but boom boom boom until 2:00 a.m. on weekends. However the Mimi del Mar has no control over that business!!!!

The location right next to the ADO Bus station and the heart of the town. The hotel has access to the beach but there isn't that much sand so it's not the best beach in the area. We left our backpacks there after the check out without any problem and we did the check in later and went all well.

The room wasn't the one in the photos with stove and stuff. The beach in front of the hotel wasn't very good. But overall I think that's a good value for what you get.

Such a lovely place!! We came for 10 days and extended our stay to another 10. This little hotel was just perfect for us. Right on the beach, spotless clean, very friendly staff ( our special thanks to Ivan, he was very friendly and helpful, and he made our stay very comfortable) We loved the little kitchen, because we cooked for ourselves, and having a meal on a balcony was really special. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was very clean. The bar next door is loud, but in a while we stopped noticing it. But this area was the city is vibrant and loud, it is downtown. We also was amazed buy the cleanness of the beach, each morning lots of people were cleaning, brushing, we were very grateful for this people, they were doing amazing job. Each day at sunrise there were groups of people exercising, great chance to improve your health and fitness levels. We will definitely be back!!!

Only the bar next door. Otherwise we had an amazing time.
