We LOVED our stay at Kai. Not only is it in a gorgeous beachfront setting in a nature reserve within walking distance from the Tulum Mayan ruins, the hotel itself is clean, airy, tropical, has an amazing gourmet restaurant with fresh seafood and fresh juices and drinks, awesome beach lounging, an outdoor pool, yoga and massages on site, crystal clear blue water and powder soft beach, and the most friendly, accommodating staff ever. We came for our babymoon and if we could rate 11/10 we would. The restaurant at the hotel is the only one we found within walking distance that’s open late night for dinner, although there are other beach restaurants nearby during the day if you want to switch it up. We didn’t take any taxis our whole trip and just walked on the beach to get everywhere nearby (there are also little carts that take you up and down the main drive of the nature reserve if you don’t want to walk), but if you wanted to go into town it would make sense to rent a car/moto to save money since taxis are pretty expensive.

Front beach, small refreshing swimming pool, good services on the beach including restaurant and shower, perfect position close to the archeological site (you can go walking).

The first room was at the ground floor and the curtains weren’t working (not possible to completely close them) meaning that there was no privacy. Additionally, the room was smelling humidity/mould. We changed the room the following day. The second room was nice but not super clean and, especially, I would like to signal that the tank of the water that clients are supposed to drink and use for washing the teeth was unfortunately containing dead insects. In terms of service: at the restaurant everyone is very nice but we asked for an 7am check out breakfast and it wasn’t provided even if the staff was around since about 1 hour.

Location on the beach is amazing. However, it is in the national park, so you do need to pay to come back in before 6 pm if you have left. Approx 58 pesos per person. The hut is stunning and one of the most beautiful places I have stayed which is a 30 second walk onto a beautiful beach

The food at the restaurant is very overpriced and not good quality. If you walk 15 mins along the beach, you can get amazing food from the mezzanine, which is priced the same. We did book a garden view but half of the view was blocked by another hut which they didn't say when booking. In terms of location, it is hard to get anywhere else without a cab or bike. The walk to the town is 1 hour from here so this location is really dependant on what you want from your stay.

The hotel is beautiful. It has an amazing boutique jungle vibe that we loved. Food and drinks are delicious and the staff very friendly. The pool is great and the beach very nice with views of the Tulum pyramids.

While the food is delicious as stated above, we felt it somewhat overpriced. If the prices were 20% cheaper we are certain they would still be making a very high margin on the food and drinks served without presenting absurdly high prices. The beach would be better if they ask the tour boats to park further or on the adjoining beaches which are empty rather than right infront of the hotel.

We liked the beds

Heavy techno nonstop at the restaurant. No ambiance at the restaurant. Bad coffee delivered at different times each day to the room. Massage beside the restaurant with heavy techno. Fail on hospitality. Scams. We were offered to book a trip at almost double cost of what the actual provider charged us.

Amazing property! We came at a time when the sargassum on the beach was manageable. The beach was a pleasure to swim at! I highly recommend you ask for “room one.” That’s the room we got and it was the only one directly on the beach. All the other rooms were behind ours. Coffee being brought to us at 7:30am was amazing! I truly believe this is the nicest hotel on the nicest beach in Tulum. We were a bit put off by some more negative reviews — don’t pay them any attention! We had an absolutely magical stay.

The restaurant was expensive but that’s normal for the area.

Very nice bungalow beach front, with an ocean view. very calm and relaxing. The coral reef is just in front of the hotel and snorkeling there was super fun…turtles, stingrays…

The location was very good for us, but if you’re looking for walking distance restaurants and bars, the hotel zone would be a better choice

Our stay at Kai Hotel was simply outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The attention to detail throughout the hotel, from the stylish decor to the impeccable service, was remarkable. Our room was comfortable and beautiful, providing the perfect retreat after days spent exploring Tulum's beauty. The kindness of the staff was also exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and can't wait to return to Kai Hotel for another unforgettable stay.
