AC did not work for 2 nights, so these were pretty warm

We loved the peacefulness of the place, as the hotel is in the middle of the Jaguar Park, which we purposely chose. Our "hut" was directly looking into the beach and we woke up to the sound of the sea and the waves, it was wonderful. The room was spacious and the bath super cute. No issue at all to have a cold fresh shower, as the days were quite hot. There is also a little pool in the hotel, and we could just lay there to relax looking into the beach. There is a bar/cafe on site, with nice juices and snacks and cool staff, though open only until 17.30 but there are other options close by (very nice restaurants for breakfast and dinner as well).

We traveled with the train Maya, and it was not super easy to reach the hotel. We were unfortunately not aware that golf cars could directly go from the train station into the park for free as these are part of the services offered by the park itself as you anyway have to pay for the entry fees (just 495 pesos for the whole stay which is more than fair) - the hotel would not tell us this at all but would of course promote the super expensive taxi services. So just for everyone to be aware, there are easier and way less expensives ways to reach the park and the hotel area.

Excellent choice by the sea, located in a protected area surrounded by nature. It is situated away from the noise pollution of the more bustling town center and Tulum beach, so you can listen to the ocean at night and gaze at the stars. The facilities are eco-friendly, which means there can be power outages every once in a while and you can’t use devices like hair straighteners and dryers, but that wasn’t really an issue with us. This hotel also offers walkability along playa paraíso which is right in front, as well as the Mayan ruins, which are only a 30 min walk away. We got there in January, but we didn’t really have any issues with insects/bugs, but the rooms are equipped with insecticide and protective nets over the beds. Last but not least, the personnel was extremely friendly and accommodated all of our needs, including arranging dinner for us at nearby hotels since their restaurant/bar closes at night (open 9-5). However , their food and drinks during the day are delicious.

There is almost no internet service in some of the rooms and you have to walk to the reception to find signal .

The location was just perfect - right by the beach. Playa Esperanza Hotel has the most beautiful part of the Playa Paraiso & its indeed a paradise! It’s so amazing it almost feels unreal. The staff was amazing too - everyone was so incredibly friendly, helpful & kind - especially Daniel who was very attentive & catered to every need we had.

Please just keep in mind that going back to a hotel after the sunset it’s only possible in a taxi or in a car as it is located in a national park, so it is pitch black there & you cannot bring in any plastic, glass, alcohol or cigarettes - a bit tricky if you want to bring, e.g. tequila as a souvenir.

This is a very individual place. Each room is actually in an individual house. Very nicely done. It gives you the feeling of staying in a palm leave covered hut, but it's well done. Staff is very very friendly and helpful. Each room/house has a necessary ceiling fan and now even an A/C makes this an unforgettable stay. This has been my 3rd time there. You will love this place, as it's so different. Any time again. They even added a small pool now in the recent year(s). I like that they offered a bike rental on site. Due to the ongoing road constryuction and one way troad this was an alternative to get around .

Price has increased a bit since I came here the first time. They need to reavaluate if the price / night is justified, as it's not a resort offering a lot. I stayed there in early April 2023 and the beach was covered in seagrass. Not very nice. The street in front of the building is a one way now. You can only access the road from the Tulum Ruins. Very inconvenient. BUT, you can rent a bike and go both ways.

The staff were amazing - Marco, Emily and Paulo. They gave me a free upgrade which was very big and right by the water. Excellent check in and communication. Very rustic, but I loved this. Felt like I woke up on a desert island. Heavenly sunsets and sunrises.

The AC doesn’t work so I was constantly hot. Bikes need a tune up if renting - some are quite old and rusty.

Paula is amazing at the reception. She is super helpful and solution oriented. The place is fantastic and perfect for relaxation. Highly recommended. I actually decided to extend my visit there based on th fact that it was a breathtaking location and the rooms are so pretty.

The breakfast is not available before 9.30am. It is provided by a separate bar located on the hotel’s property. Initially there is a 10% discount for food and drinks there for hotel guests, that they apparently always forget to deduct… if I was the hotel owner, I would take that service over to keep my guests even happier. It would be also great if there was 24x7 reception service for late arrivals.

Amazing place! We love every day that we spent here. Very relaxing, the staff os friendly and helpful. Beautiful beach!

The restaurant doesn’t open until 9am and it closes early. But there are more options for food around the hotel.

Location was great - it was right at the beach. Property is safe and well maintained. Rooms were clean.

We had no water suddenly. Had to wait for about 20 mins to get tap water back. AC in the room is not good enough to cool the big room. So we were sweating all night.
