It was an amazing place to have vacations. It is bit special in its own as it is in the center of a national Park. It is just on the beach and you can hear waves sound in the room. The tulum ruins is just nearby you can access via electric van.

They have not mentioned the hotel is in inside the national park and there additional fee for electric van service and per day park fee as well. Though daily fee is not big just 5 USD but still! They have very nice restaurant I had dinner there. but it is over priced more than double what is outside. On top, service tip obligatory not optional.

Exceeded my expectations. All great. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Enjoyed the morning yoga class- she did a terrific job. Enjoyed renting bikes and biking into Tulum. Enjoyed walking the beach to try the other hotel restaurants, as well. The Tulum Mayan ruins were within walking distance. I wish we'd been given a map/list of nearby sites when we checked in. Wifi was only at the restaurant/beach/reception areas and not in my tent but that didn't bother me. A/C in tents worked great- very comfortable. Bed was comfortable.

I didn't understand when I booked it that I would also have to pay the park entrance for our stay, as well as the daily park admission.

Gorgeous location on probably one of the most beautiful Beaches in the world. Nice Athmosphere, in the ikal camp, that lives up to the expectation of the most spiritual yogi. very good food, not cheap though. Onsite activities as temazcal and daily yoga classes make this an ideal resort for those seeking to connect with nature and the beautiful sea.

Tents on the beachfront do not face the sea and are not worth the extra money. Would’ve preferred staying in a cabana in the shadow inside the garden. Be aware there’s Hidden costs when ordering food in Tulum, the suggested 15% tip is a minimum, which is expected no matter what, which I believe is illegal although applied throughout many restaurants. activities are generally quite expensive

- Staying here is an experience of a lifetime. - Access to Tulum Ruins (10 min walk) and beach (20 steps away) - I would like to say that staying on the beach itself is the best thing about this property but I'd be lying. It's the EXTREMELY friendly and loving staff. They make every effort to make your stay Amazing! I would come back over and over again just for the Hospitality. - The bathrooms. DO NOT be thrown off by the fact that they are shared bathrooms. They are cleaner, better maintained and well done compared to even the top most hotels on the Tulum beaches. - The decor and aesthetics are so well tuned with the Tulum experience without any of the useless bells and whistles. - Community feel with all the workshops, classes. - Oh did I mention you are literally 20 feet from the beach, and we could see the gorgeous blue waters from inside out camps? - Everything is cleaned, maintained and taken care of with the highest care - The detailed thought-process that's behind every design element is extra-ordinary. Loved it! - Great Wifi - They helped us book Scuba and Snorkeling tours as well

Minor things which are not really dislike but just part of the experience that one should be ready for: - Strong winds and sand blowing inside the tent and in your stuff. But you signed up for glamping on the beach. What do you expect? - Commute to South beach and Tulum downtown can be very expensive. If you plan to spend most of your time doing that, would be better to stay elsewhere. This statement is true for anywhere on North Beach and is not a reflection of the property itself - No ATMs on property, and nearby are are mostly out of cash. Tip to Hotel Staff: Consider adding a free rotating shuttle option for hotel guests between Tulum and Hotel, and an ATM on the property limited for Hotel Guests.

The camp is located inside the park at a beautiful beach club. You are a very short walk to the water with access to lounge chairs, hanging beds, volleyball, yoga and a pool. The tent is clean and they clean it each day.

The property is located in the park and you are not allowed food inside so you either have to leave and go in to town which is far or you spend money at places on the beach. The restaurant is expensive. Our tent didn’t have a rain tarp. We didn’t get wet at all but the outside of the tent is covered in mold. When it rains the sand has a urine smell by the tents. The bathroom is a bit far from the tents. None of these things bothered us much for our short stay!

Brilliant. Definitely go for the Mayan lodges over the seafront tents - much better rooms and often the platform balconies have a better sea view than the tents as you are blocked by plants for the tents. Staff fabulous, didn’t do the yoga or bits but lots of offer. Toilets and showers kept clean and good cosmetics including conditioner. Felt very safe and secure as a solo traveller. Taxis were also fine and hotel can book them for you if getting bus into the ADO or popping up to town.

I stayed there for 8 days with an intention to be a beach bum 😁 and I was not disappointed at all with the choice. The location allowed me to swim, read and be on the beach. For me the location was great as my tent was the first one facing the beach therefore access to it was amazing. The receptionist, Camila who checked me in was very helpful. The staff responsible for the rooms cleaned it daily and also the security at night guarding access from the beach.

The restaurant needs an overhaul in terms of inspiration for the service and the menu. I don't think it will change but hey there are lots of options around the hotel to dine. Therefore, deducted two points out of 10. The communal toilets and showers didn't work for a few days but they were quickly resolved in the morning. This is okay because the hotel is located in the restricted area limiting development of a typical resort infrastructure.

We loved everything, the tent is super nice and the beach is amazing. The guests can use the sun bed on the beach if they are not rented, but when we were there (August) we could use them all day. Access to pool and beach included. There is AC in the tent so you are never too hot. Shower works well and they are clean, as well as the bathrooms. The staff is very nice, Alan and Lina have been very kind with us, we did the checkin at 11PM.

The prices at the restaurant/bar are very very high, but you are in Tulum in the natural reserve, so it is everywhere like this.

We traveled in Mexico for 7 weeks and this was our favorite place. We would call it the pearl of Tulum, at least for us. It was a great place to get inner peace. It combined all different aspects of connecting to nature, doing yoga, enjoying the view of the blue sea and listening to the sound of the waves. I don't like to be to theatrics, but that was the one place where I really felt entirely relaxed. However, it may strongly depend on the way how you like to spend your vacations. If you are more of a resort / all-inclusive type of person, this place might not be what you are looking for. For us, this was a great experience, and I could spend more time telling you all the details of how great it was. But the only way for you will be to find out by yourself.

Nothing really. One thing that you may be prepared for is the cost. The place isn't cheap. But in my opinion, most was worth the money you spend if you stay there for ceremonies or nice concerts or plays in the evenings. For me, this was one part of the price I paid for drinks and food.

My partner and I had a wonderful and relaxing time at Ikal. The location can't be beat, and the community vibe was welcoming, comfortable, and very intentional. Anna was so helpful and fun to talk to - She offered us several suggestions on things to do, directions, and transportation and was genuinely so kind. Ikal was the perfect getaway with the best views and vibes. The space is beautiful and designed with care. We loved the live music and the gorgeous art pop up (Thank you Alejandro and @wild.child.tulum for the incredible overalls!) Tulum was far more expensive than we realized, but the location and people of Ikal makes it all worth it. We are so grateful for our time there and definitely will be back.

The only thing I would say would be that the food was quite expensive; I am a vegetarian, and even ordering simple items (quesadillas, for example) off the menu was still shocking. Each meal (with a couple of drinks) was over $100 USD for the two of us. There are not many options in the beach area for affordable eating, but you can't beat the location. The wifi was spotty but served its purpose when needed.
