The beach is beautiful, it's a pity that the waves and sargassum make it hard to enjoy the sea; the hotel crew did their best to clean as much sargassum as possible, every day. Also, the breakfast was very good, as well as the other meals we had in the restaurant during the day.

The staff was helpful, but at times we had a feeling they were lacking trust with us, as though we were trying to fool them or do some damage and just leave or something like that... We were with a 2-year-old, so this was not a pleasant feeling.

Everyday We walked to the beach within 1 minute, had free breakfast in the restaurant, chose the outdoor bed at our favorite location, and then enjoyed the sunshine, the warm wind and the waves for the whole day. It is so close to the Tulum ruin that we could go to the light house and ruin in the early morning by walk along the beach. And we found the lunch here is the most delicious one after we tasted the food in most of other restaurants including the fancy ones along the beach. They had the special spicy source and the grilled food was not too oily or too salty as we imagined, which was incredible. It was so comfortable that I didn’t want to leave there.

Loved the beach access. Receptionist tried to help in regards to the issues with not giving us the information in regards to wristbands and other access that we were not allowed to have. They were very kind although that’s not enough we paid this big amount for a hotel and for us not to have a full access to it.

I didn’t like that when I booked the hotel, it did not say anything about having to pay for wristbands for access and out of the location. Upon arriving, we were told we had to pay for wristbands. As well as pictures on pictures on the website we’re not accurate as you have to travel out of the location for certain things. It’s very disappointing because when we arrived now, knowing that we have to pay for extra when none of these concerns were addressed upon booking. It is very understandable that due to the location. They’re in now it’s more like a sanctuary type, but it would be nice to know so I don’t book there if I don’t want to pay extra upon arriving.

We loved staying at El Paraiso! The facilities were very clean and the beach was beautiful. I especially want to recognize the reception staff, as they were super helpful for suggesting activities, things to do, and places to eat. Snorkeling organized through the hotel was affordable and so worth it - lots of turtles and sting rays! There’s hotel also offers free bikes for your use whenever you want. We rode the bikes into Tulum town center to get street tacos and do some shopping. It was about a 15 minute ride each way on easy bike path trails and the hotel provides bike lights in case you’re out after dark. The restaurant and bar staff were also lovely and fun for service at the beach club.

The hotel restaurant itself closes at 5, so you have to go off site for dinner to other restaurants. There’s an excellent Thai and Mexican place in walking distance but if you’re there for more than two nights options are limited and expensive. Transportation costs to/from airport are pricey.

Friendly (English speaking) reception and a comfortable room. Good to have a kettle and a fridge in the room. Short walk to the beach - which was beautiful, no sargassum weed when we were there at the end of November. It was about a 10 minute walk along the beach to a couple of restaurants in the evening - or alternatively down the unlit but very quiet road. Snorkelling boat trips could be booked very close by on the beach. The hotel bikes were useful for getting to the Tulum Ruins. Bike lights were available for the evening.

The bar & restaurant stopped serving at 5.30pm and the club by 6pm when the non residents were leaving the park. The sun set soon after that so not a big problem and did mean it was very quiet in the evening - but it would have been nice to have had somewhere to sit by the sea with a drink as the sun went down.

The staff, facilities and location

Although the location is good, there is roadwork happening and this is something the accommodation can’t do anything about they could have mentioned it far earlier bit better explanation how to get to the place. One time in the afternoon we were in traffic for 30min… But that being said we still recommend coming here as long as you are aware of the situation. It is still the best location for a quite stay.

Stunning location, most beautiful premises, lush greenery, all perfectly well maintained and right behind the beach. Prettiest beach I have ever seen, palm trees, wonderful water, great beach club, restaurant and pool. Room nice with terrace. Friendly staff . Walking distance to ruins and other restaurants on the beach.

My husband could not stand the smell and noise of the diesel generator. I didn’t enjoy the loud and big staff holiday party which went on until about 23h right next to the rooms despite my complaints. Room small and lacks hooks for hanging and drying towels and swim suits.

The beach club is really nice - and breakfast is directly on the beach. The location is amazing, within walking distance to the ruins of Tulum. The staff was extremely helpful in organizing tours and transport. I recommend a room with sea view - that really made a difference for me when I was able to change.

The lack of light on the beach in the evening, when for instance you want to go to a nearby restaurant. However, this is due to restrictions imposed by government in the natural reserve - and has nothing to do with the hotel itself.

The proximity to the beach was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Being located in the Jaguar National Park was a benefit and a hindrance at the same time. The area felt very safe and secure do to the 24hr armed guards at the Park entrance.

Eventhough there are several restaurants (Casa Maria and Cinco were fabulous) within the Park area, it did limit our choices for nearby dining experiences.

Loved the close beach, could walk there within minutes and go for a run, sunrise, swim

That I had been told to leave the sitting area on the beach beds at only 6pm when was enjoying the early evening. That all food drinks were close at 6pm also extremely cold swimming pool. No one was using it simply too cold. You had to pay extra for a better coffee at breakfast. Also, some days we waited for breakfast to be served over 30 min. Rooms were bit smelly and dump. No way to leave window open( only one small in a bathroom)as anyone could enter the room.
