This was a great location to visit Amsterdam. It's north of the city center, but a quick bus/metro ride in, and with the two day pass, a pretty good value. The area is very quiet, no traffic noise at night. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and room was very clean, even had a coffee maker. Very comfy bed, and the breakfast was lovely, a great selection of items, even eggs to order. We drove in and left the car parked the entire time, used public transportation to get around. Plenty of parking in the area for a small fee (9.60 Euro for the entire day). Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Amsterdam.

I liked the location. It is in the north area of Amsterdam and you have the chance of exploring a part not too visited by the tourists. The subway station is pretty close.

In our second day the toilet got broken. The flush wasn't working anymore. We talked to some people from the staff on different occasions and we have been told that it will be fixed soon. It wasn't the case at all. We had to use the lobby toilet that it was downstairs even though we paid to have a toilet in our room. Also there was heavy dust under the bed.

It was close to the metro station in a 10 min. Walking distance and then only 2 stations away from Amsterdam Centraal. It felt safe and also there were some cafes around the area if you did not have time for breakfast in the morning. Overall our stay was okay and the stuff of the hotel was excellent.

There was not something in particular we did not like, I could say that it was not so clean the bedroom after it was cleaned, meaning they have forgotten to put new towels even though we had put them on the side as asked if we would like them changed.

The room was absolutely fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly when asking for help. I requested a small birthday message for my girlfriend when I booked and when I turned up, the hotel was kind enough to include some balloons and bunting as well as a lovely message waiting, it made my girlfriends weekend! The room was clean, tidy and bed was super comfy. The hotel is literally 10 seconds walk to the nearest bus stop which takes you directly to the ferry crossing to the Amsterdam Centraal station. Only 10 minutes from the centre! Can’t thank Bastion Hotel enough and will definitely be back again soon!

We didn’t know about the subway, and took a cab over to the property. The cabs take advantage of the situation when you don’t know about the subway😉

The staff is very friendly and helpful. In general the hotel is correct, it meets the minimum requirements for a comfortable stay.

Location-wise is very isolated, there are no bars or restaurants in a 10 minutes walking radius. The area is mostly residential. The room needed some renovation: walls, doors and furniture need to be painted or replaced.

There is parking outside hotel - I could park my Van (Ford Transit) on nearside parking for less than 10 euro per 24h, also car was safe because there is Police station just opposite where my van was parked. Also Hotel is located less than 10 min walk from metro station (Amsterdam Noord), then it's only 5 min of travel (2 stops) to reach Amsterdam Cetraal.

Everything was as described. Staff were very nice. Room was clean and had everything I needed.

Only 1 think which was probably just a one off. Gardeners starting work outside my bedroom window were noisy and woke me up 7.25am. No chance of my planned lie in

Huge tv in the room with ability to chrome cast from our phones to the tv screen, very comfortable beds and the a/c was great. Staff were so helpful with booking a taxi for us when it was heavily raining and we couldn’t walk

Quite a long walk from the ferry port, but I’m sure that public transport was available we just chose to walk 30 mins

Nice and clean. Room spacious enough for the two of us. Large TV in room. Comfortable beds.

This is not the property’s fault as we were walking - but it is about 30 minute walk from the free ferry over near Ad’am lookout. If you had a car or bike. Would make it quicker. Again can’t fault the hotel. And the money saved compared to getting a hotel in the centre of Amsterdam makes up for this.
