Clean, comfortable, really convenient, good breakfast, helpful staff

People have written a lot of negative comments, but if you want somewhere central for a night or two this is great. It is true that it is noisy and the rooms are small and the stairs are steep, but this is an old building in the centre of Amsterdam, take some earplugs and a backpack and you will be fine!

The location is absolutely brilliant you are in the centre of everything it’s ideal the breakfast was lovely and the staff were really helpful especially Mattis thank you for all your help

I read all the reviews about the property the stairs, the basic room the shared bathroom but the description was as it said and reviews accurate with that we had no issue at all with anything yes the room could do with a touch up but it does state basic accommodation and on a budget so you get what you pay for but was clean and clean towels every day

Perfect location, very close to the red light street. The staff was really nice and helpful. In comparison to other accomodations this is really worth the price.

We have reserved a room with our own bathroom. They did not mention that it does not include a toilet, only a shower - the toilet is on the first floor for everyone (at least that is kept clean). The rooms are pretty small and very basic, but that is also expected in Amsterdam.

The location is perfect for a weekend getaway, the staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are simple and old, but it is clean, the towels and linens are nice. The bed is comfortable. The breakfast is simple but, they do offer gluten free bread. Considering the prices in the area, it is a good place to stay for a budget stay.

Decent breakfast, clean accommodation and excellent location. I had a 8m2 room, sufficient for traveling alone a couple of days. The bathroom was shared, but it was clean and functional. The street is noisy since it has a lot of restaurants but the room was oriented on the other side, which cancelled the noise and enabled me to sleep normally.

The stairs are difficult to use and there's no lift. Constraints of being a downtown hotel, I suppose. If you have mobility issues, I'd suggest to go somewhere else, since there's not much the hotel can do about that.

Amazing price for the location. The continental breakfast was also a plus especially when you're travelling on a budget. It's close to everything and so it was easy to get somewhere and get back. Bed was surprisingly comfortable, and the room was surprisingly clean despite all the bad reviews I read. Definitely worth it for the price. I went at the peak of summer and luckily the cleaners gave us an electric fan. The cleaner was 10/10 and the coolest guy you'll meet.

Felt like staff didn't want to be there. I can't blame them tho when it's 30 degrees out and them having to constantly deal with annoying tourists. The shower was filthy, so just make sure to bring slippers.

The stuff is more than perfect ..they are friendly and helpful specially tanja and mattijs .really no words can describe how much I appreciate what they did for me during my stay ...and the location is more than perfect located in the heart of amesterdam with very amazing views around you

The stairs are narrow

The main train station was about 300-yds from the hotel. The location allowed us to walk to the start of all of our excursions. The breakfast was included with the cost which really added to the value of staying here. The breakfast included two juices, coffee, assortment of sliced meats, cheeses, and breads plus hard boiled eggs. There were several types of fresh fruit and ample tables for everyone to sit. We received fresh towels daily. The stairwell is common in Amsterdam in that the steps depth is short so the stairs are very steep.

The breakfast area is in the basement so there are no windows, but that is so minor. The shower is probably typical for Amsterdam in that there is no shower curtain or shower door. You have a shower head on a flexible hose. But, this is minor.

Very small room but extremely clean and comfortable, in the heart of old town. Matais the receptionist is very friendly. Shower and sink in the room, shared toilet but we never saw anyone there. The location is amazing to explore the whole city.
