Short wooden flights of stairs everywhere. Website said they had lift but didn't mention that when I got to my floor(4th) it was like a labyrinth. And I had to go up and down several wooden steps. Ok most of the time but terrible with my heavy luggage Cleaning of room was not good. They emptied trash, made beds, and changed towels everyday. But that was all. In a week they never changed the sheets or vacuumed once . Room a bit noisy too, from the street and from other rooms. Not confortable at all. Very small room. Bathroom was nice but also uncomfortable. Nowhere to hang a towel. Had to hang it on a door knob. Toilet paper was behind and above toilet. Very hard to reach

This is not the first time I've stayed here brilliant location staff always friendly, this is a no frills hotel rooms somewhere to put your head down at night clean and looked after. The only reason I haven't given a 10 is because the room I stayed in this time the toilet was in a very tight space and im 6'1 and i just about got in the space but its wasn't comfortable to say the least other than that spot on as always same staff have been there from at least 15 years ago and are always helpful.

As explained toilet space in that particular room number 211 so if get that and you're tall you may want to ask to change rooms id possible.

Under 10 minutes walk from station and hotel central to all facilities, as it's an old building (retains features & size of rooms) our bedroom on the small side, that was no problem as we were out most of the time and bed very comfortable. Breakfast better than expected, cold meats, eggs, juice, cereal, lovely bread & rolls and plenty of tea & coffee, dining room very clean. Because of the building layout, this hotel would not be suitable for physically impaired persons as it has stairs down to dining room and no ramp at front door. However they have a hotel next door with user friendly access, contact them for more information as location is great. PS there is a lift up to floors.

I was very happy with my stay, I did'nt want a 5 star hotel, I got character and very helpful staff.

The staff were very helpful, especially at check in and in previous communication. The location was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast was sufficient to get the day started. The beds were clean and comfortable.

The stairs! Omg it says steep but we weren’t expecting how very steep! Nothing in the kitchen, no cutlery or glasses or anything at all. Quite a basic apartment but it was sufficient for our needs which was more based on location than anything. We didn’t ask at reception for any kitchen stuff so not sure if it’s available on request or not.

Everything was good! I mean for less than 100Euros / night nowadays in central amsterdam is a rare gem. And free breakfast at this price, its a bargain! Breakfast is decent (for free of charge) You get boiled eggs, breads, cereals, hot tea and coffee, ham, cheese, fruit salad. These are more than enough for me. About the location, its excellent. If you looking for hotel in Ams, please look for hotels nearby central station ONLY! You've got everything in this area. Direct train from airport, red light district, lots of restaurants, shopping street, trams to go to other parts of city all of these in 5 min walk!! Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful and they are 24hr available.

This hotel is not for those who doesn't like to walk up the stairs. Since some rooms (like my single room) is between floor. So there is a lift to bring you up but still have to walk on stairs abit. Another thing is the bathroom is very small and there is no shelf to put my toiletteries when i shower. The bathroom has been renovated, the bedroom should be also. It's dated but its what you pay for. :)

Red beard and all other staff fantastic 👌 room was lovely and clean and warm considering the temperature outside, close to central station bonus, loads of bars and restaurants and food places on doorstep plus a few pubs and only a few kins walk from coffeeshops very central to the half circle layout if you don't know your around this is perfect plus they give you a city map but definitely recommend and breakfast is simply but nice and healthy few options.

Shower didn't drain very well, plug hole could just need unclogging abit. Nothing major tho Mattress very comfortable but abit mad on sides were you sorter roll off.

The room with the spa bath was excellent, largest room we’ve stayed in in Amsterdam. Spa bath was amazing. Room was cleaned each day and fresh towels provided. There’s a lift to the fourth floor then some stairs to the room but this wasn’t an issue as most hotels in Amsterdam don’t have a lift and the stairs are extremely steep.

Breakfast was included but selection wasn’t great, ok for a light snack. Teas and coffees included, bread, rolls, cheese, ham and some fruit. Howver, this did not affect our stay.

We spent 3 nights here. The accommodation corresponds to the price/performance ratio. The furnishings are older and the windows were facing the courtyard without natural light. Since we only spent the night here, it didn't matter. Breakfast was not plentiful but adequate and sufficient. The location of the hotel was absolutely exceptional. The quality of service was elevated by the excellent receptionists. If we were going to Amsterdam again, I would have no problem choosing this hotel again.

The location of the hotel is super, located in the city center, very close to the railway station, shopping street and the royal palace so there is a brisk nightlife (we didn't hear much noise to our room). In the vicinity of the hotel, our several excursions out of the city also began. Hotel: the attendants are very nice and helpful, the building is historical, the stairs are narrow and steep (there is also an elevator), the rooms and beds are comfortable, the bed linen are clean. Breakfast is ordinary, the stomach can be full (porridge, etc., it makes no sense to count on).

our room overlooked the opposite wall, the window was open but the room could not be ventilated through it.

Good location, close to central train station, ship port, plenty of eatery places, supermarket up the street. Included breakfast was good - cereals, toast, hot drinks, fruit, cheese and ham, boiled eggs and juice. My friend and I had single rooms, located at back of property, so quiet from street. Window to open, for fresh air. space for luggage. Good little ensuite. Swipe locking on doors, so felt secure. Able to store luggage, if arrive early.

Though there is a lift, if you are in the back area, you still have a few steps to negotiate with your luggage, to get to your room. Can hear church bells ring, but finish at 11am and don’t start back up till after 8 am.
