Convenient for rail station, budget accommodation. I booked a small single room, a kind of slopey-ceiling loft room with a comfortable bed and sink. Shared shower/toilet.

Getting what you pay for, I feel this was accurately represented. The shower and toilet is a kind of wet room set up and maybe to reduce water left on floor for other users a device (mop or squidgee) to push water away from toilet space would be an idea. I think I was lucky with other quiet guests but the walls are thin and at 3am it was unavoidable that u can hear people coming up narrow stairs.

Very centrally located (close to Dam Square) and great service at reception. It is a good place for the price. There is a basin in the room and a window that opens, there is also a heater. House keeping came on day 3 and are very friendly. The bed in room 7 is bigger than a single bed so it is spacious.

The stairs are very steep so you will struggle to get a large suitcase up the stairs, but the website does inform you. The people in the other rooms were generally quiet, but if you have a noisey crowd you will hear them.

Location is fantastic; easy walk from Amsterdam Centraal and very accessible by public transport. Fabulous neighbourhood to explore and wander around the canal streets (photos were taken from the room). The room was small but comfortable. The neighbourhood is quite noisy, but there's a fan in the room which works wonders to block out street noise (a great touch!). A kettle and a coffee mug would have been fantastic additions, though. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was decent. Pay attention to the warnings about the steepness of the stairs! They are indeed incredibly vertical, to the point where they can essentially be climbed like a ladder. It's absolutely doable, but big, solid, wheely suitcases not recommended :p Ultimately, it's a backpacker hostel in the centre of Amsterdam - it's not fancy, but it's clean, it's comfortable, and I would absolutely stay here again.

The only thing that would have elevated my stay would have been a tea/coffee station in my room or in a common area, but that's a very minor comment in the grand scheme of things.

Oct 20-24, private room (shared bathroom) Great Location 9/10: Near / almost fronting tram station. Beside there’s a nice korean restaurant. Near Dam Square and Royal Palace like less than 5 minute walk. Comfort 9/10: with electric fan and heater. Nice blanket / comforter. Facilities 8/10: I like that there’s a sink inside the room. I love that there are CCTV cameras for every floor, makes me feel safe. Host 9/10: responsive in booking . Com chat. Hostel staff are kind. The reception is in Xplore Hostel which is just like around 50 meters away, they are both on the same side of the street. Cleanliness 9/10 room, bathroom, WC, are clean. WiFi 8/10: wifi signal, sometimes a little weak around 8-10 mbps only (i am at the 3rd floor) but most of the time like 90% of the time wifi is okey and enough. Value for money 8/10: expensive for private room but within standards, I guess all Hostels’ private rooms in Amsterdam being in the center, are all expensive.

These are just minor / petty versus the good points. I am at the 3rd floor, the room is not sound proof, you’ll here doors closing sounds from the other rooms. I use my earphones with white noise so i could sleep soundly. The shower water pressure is not strong during peak hours when tourists are showering in the morning, but almost ok, it will only take you a little extra minutes to rinse the soap on your body. I suggest don’t bring too heavy luggage, as common in all hostels in Amsterdam, stairs are steep and narrow and no lifts. All in all the strong points outweighs all these, I would still rate the place like 9/10.

Well, for the price, it was quite cool, you can't expect much. It's really original and the view was great. BUT not all rooms in this facility have a good view, I asked per mail in advance If I could have a view to the front and they immediately answered positive.

The bed, the mattress was sagging a bit.

The staff was very hostile and it seemed like they were scamming us at first when all the 'additional' expenses were presented to us.

Steep stairs those made difficult to carry big luggage. No hot water in the sink inside the room

location was spot on, 4 young lads in a private room, cheap and cheerful, good sleep, one of the best coffee shops below.. what more could you ask for?

to be honest, for the price.. there is nothing I can complain about. The stairs are steep, didn’t bother us, the rooms are a bit rough, didn’t bother us.. as I say, you get what you pay for.. I personally think it was worth every penny and would definitely return with my friends.

Perfect location, just between dam square and central station. Wooden floor and not carpets. Quite clean.

The sink in the room has only cold water, so you kind need to use the shower for warm water but is fine for me.

Location is awesome. the staff were also very helpful.

The stairs are a killer but it's to be expected from amsterdam. Oh and i forgot that coffeeshop means weed so i thought the reviews that said it's above a coffee shop meant it was above a cafe.
