What I really liked was the friendly and welcoming treatment provided by the staff! Everyone was very accommodating, respectful and professional. Having the restaurant downstairs was a huge perk and the food is delicious as well. I have loved the location which is near everything one needs for a great time in this vibrant city. Including transportation, food, entertainment and even a police station.

The four flights of narrow stairs are not for the faint of heart! People with mobility issues may want an alternative solution. But we managed. And a few details didn't quite add up. i.e. TVs in our rooms were not working, toilet seat cover being way too lose, the electronic key card was temperamental and didn't always allowed me into my room... Hello stairs!!! All of these minor and mild annoyances are part of the experience of travelling anyway, I was happy to overlook, specially once I met the hotel owners! Wonderful, hard working and most generous people.

The food was good. Staff lovely and on arrival carried cases to rooms. Loved having the cafe so close. Good choice food and drink. Amali the waitress was lovely. Plenty of lovely clean white towels in the rooms.

Even though we are and drank in the cafe they refused us tap water in order to make you purchase bottled water One of our group asked for a piece of toast to take her medication with. Even though it was on the menu with breakfast they said they couldn’t do it and offered garlic bread!!! There are a lot of steep stairs to the rooms. We knew this and it wasn’t a problem but could be for some people.

Fantastic location, very central, right next to the Nieuwe Kerk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, cosy and comfortable. The food in the cafe downstairs was good. And compared with other hotels in central Amsterdam, the price was excellent.

The room was up on the 4th floor, and there is no lift, so be prepared to go up a lot of flights of stairs! The room was very small, though not missing anything vital. It gets warm in summer, and the window blind didn’t fully block out the light, so I was woken up early by the sun. And there were a couple of minor technical issues with the facilities. None of these points spoiled my stay.

The room was spacious maximising all available space. The bed was comfortable and I had an excellent night's sleep. The staff were super helpful and friendly and willing to answer any questions. The check in is inside the restaurant so you will need to go in through the restaurant entrance to check in. The facilities in the room were excellent, convenient plug sockets, easy to reach from the bed light switches and a window that opens (on the 4th floor where I stayed) to allow cool air to flow in. The food menu in the cafe is nice and it is a reasonable price that won't bankrupt you.

Only a minor complaint but first world problems. If you are assigned a room on the 4th floor it is 64 steps to climb (tiring with luggage). Due to age of building no lift available. The bed whilst comfortable was a bit low to the floor for me. It was a struggle to stand up.in the morning.

The position fabulous near all the main sights and shopping street. Cafe cosy and good to linger. Room a good size and apart from the pillows very comfortable.

The pillows in a shocking state. Very old and lumpy. My pillow although a clean pillow cover smelled off so I put a clean towel over it. The feature pillows cheap and nasty. For a few Euros you can get something nicer.

The beds were super comfy, the location was brilliant, the staff were great! I had emailed in advance to let them know I was pregnant and flying in from Sydney and asked for an early check in which was facilitated thankfully!

The only downside was no lifts and no storage area for baggage after check out. Two of our group were in their 60s and 70s and struggled a bit with the stairs so if you have any mobility issues this would be a challenge/barrier for you.

Other than the lack of kettle, there was nothing else negative about our stay. The accommodation was easy to find and only a short 10 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station - trams also run to the hotel every few minutes. The room was super clean, the beds were comfortable and, when it was wet outside, the view from our window meant we could sit and walk the world go by. I will definitely be returning. There was no breakfast in the deal.

The traditional narrow stairs up to the second floor was a bit of a challenge but we just took our time. The serious disappointment was the lack of kettle in the room. Such a shame as everything else was we needed was there.

Excellent central location, right near Dam Square and easy walking distance to major attractions Clean room with classic Amsterdam character Surprisingly quiet with windows shut, even in a busy area Friendly check-in process and charming atmosphere

Beds were a bit too firm for our preference No air conditioning, which made the warmer nights a bit uncomfortable Very steep stairs and no lift — common in Amsterdam, but may be difficult for some Basic amenities overall — more of a budget stay

The location is ideal . Close to the central station and the walking distance to shops and restaurants . Room was on the small side but very clean . Didn’t spend much time in the room anyway.

We were in the 4th floor with 2 large suitcases . The walk up and down with the luggages was difficult . The stairs are tight and narrow . In our room the hook for the shower head was broken so it became a hand held shower . Water temperature wasn’t consistent for the duration of the shower. Made it a little frustrating . Our bathroom door lock was completely missing . I would have preferred a door that could close firmly.

Amazing location , right in the centre of Amsterdam , around the corner from dam square , 10 minutes from the train station , all staff were absolutely lovely , friendly and really accommodating. We also had breakfast and dinner at the hotel on a couple of occasions, the pizzas and full English breakfast were fabulous . We booked the quadruple room for our girls trip , huge room , comfy beds and fresh towels each day . The stairs are steep and not level in places as mentioned in other reviews , but they are really not as bad as everyone had made out and we quickly learnt all Amsterdam building are tall and thin with steep staircases ! We really enjoyed our stay at the corner house and would recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the centre of Amsterdam. Loads of supermarkets close by , bike rentals and close to shops and red light district .

Nothing at all , would stay here again if we returned to Amsterdam
