Stylish and clean property, very centrally located. Comfortable beds.

None of the British English TV channels worked in my room. Every day during my stay, I asked the front desk for help and every day, they were unable to get their IT person to reset my access. I would have thought the staff would follow up until resolution, but they seemed to just want to get through their shifts.

The room was well equipped and big enough, the bed was very comfortable and the sheets were changed daily, the curtains made so much dark in the room and allowed us to sleep like babies. It was really quiet and the personnel was very polite and helpful!

The tv didn’t work properly, but it didn’t bother us that much. Also in the bathroom was pretty cold due to ventilation.

Location is near to the central station and in shopping area. Bright corner room with big windows on 2 sides.

Room was longish and tight near the door. Very difficult to use clothes hanging area with a large luggage below. Gets in the way when opening room door. Block under construction in adjacent site is directly facing room window. No view nor privacy. Some hanging wall hooks will be useful as storage space was inadequate.

Everything was superb. Very nice facilities and very helpful staff. Great to have a fridge in the room and a fine little food market in the hotel. Also great that the hotel is in the center of Rotterdam. In walkable distance of Rotterdam Central Station and the Tram stops almost by the hotel.

Be aware that the parking garage might be fully booked. Contact the hotel beforehand if it's important for you to be able to park there. We used P+R Beverwaard, in the south of the city, which is free to use. From there the tram drives directly to the hotel in about 30 minutes which only costs a few euros.

I loved everything about this stay. It was myself as a lone female travelling with a young child. I felt safe and happy to wander at various times of the day, and in all areas around the hotel and further afield. I upgraded the room, so I had a bath (much easier with a little human for the bedtime routine), and I couldn't believe the size of the room. There was ample space to wander around, play, etc without bumping into furniture. The room was very clean, and well presented. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, and the location was perfect. Just a short walk from Central Station, loads of food choices and shops very close by, and also easy enough to walk further afield (like the Waterbus terminal) even with the little one tagging along on foot. I won't even look at other hotels when I return again (and that's a when, rather than if as Rotterdam itself was such a lovely city), I will just go straight to the James Hotel.

There was nothing not to like. Perfect stay!

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Spotless and spacious . Professional and friendly staff. The lounge, food court, and gym were great additions Breakfast was no more expensive when paying for each item. Far less waste, which was really good We would recommend this hotel

Whilst pay as you go breakfast was great for less waste etc, everything was prepacked. Better for hygiene, not better for packaging or taste The hotel had low lighting everywhere, which was too dark for us in certain areas. Staff were wonderful, except the lady with the short dyed red hair, who was rude, abrasive, and too "in your face" in the food court. Either have serve yourself based on trust or have someone to serve you.

The hotel is really amazing - great rooms, with all amenities you might need, including amazing beds and a coffee machine in the room; perfect location, really walking distance from everything; fantastic staff, super kind and willing to help and give recommendations; for those that like it, there is a gym that looked quite good and well equipped. Honestly, I would stay again at The James without doubt!

The only thing would be the parking, as we thought it would be readily available for guests but you need to reserve in advance. It is our fault for not having checked before, of course, but would recommend everyone that is coming by car to reserve it with the hotel immediately. Nonetheless, even if the hotel's parking was full, they helped us find an alternative close to the hotel. They were really great :)

We loved that this was a good looking hotel, with friendly staff and they upgraded our room for free upon arrival, which was great. The location could hardly be better. The decor, furnishings and furniture was very elegant and gives the impression of luxury and oppulence. There were gym facilities and a small but swanky shop come bar restroom area, which I could imagine chilling out if the weather turns bad and you couldn't get out into the streets.

The hotel was adjacent to another building that was still under construction, so from the outside it all looked a little like a building site. We didn't know how to change the volume on the tv, as the remote was a tiny little think with few buttons. Also, on the last day before flying home we mentioned about going to take a train to the Hague, and the staff told us that their was a partial train strike so we couldn't get to there, but that there would not be any issue getting to the airport. This was incorrect, it was a total train shutdown and we had to pay for an uber all the way to the airport, which was quite a bit more than the train, not to mention stressful.

I think your staff was very friendly and professional, and they were very helpful.

I am somewhat disappointed with the restaurant/ food section. I thought the items I had to buy were quite pricey; I would have loved to have received a coffee voucher or something similar. I could feel how the anxiety rose in me when I had to pay for every product available. I would also be grateful if there were more sandwiches and fresh food. The problem is that there are not many restaurants around, so if I left the hotel to walk out, there was nothing close enough.

This hotel is in a fantastic location — close to everything and super convenient for exploring the area. I appreciated the map of the city with highlights from the hotel plus the hotel app to help us find everything we needed. The room was large, beautifully maintained, and really comfortable.

The only downside to our stay was the car park across the street. Unfortunately, a car alarm started going off around 5 a.m. and continued for hours. It was incredibly frustrating, though I completely understand it was outside the hotel’s control. Despite that hiccup, the hotel itself was wonderful. I’d definitely consider staying again—hopefully without the early morning wake-up call next time!
