There are countless things to be desired about the Thuis bij Schell. First, it is located right at the heart of Rotterdam, surrounded by bars, cafes, and restaurants. Very close to shops, metro, tram, and train stations. Proximity to popular Maktaal is less than 10 minutes by walk. Again, getting to Rotterdam Centraal (Rotterdam Central Train Station) is about 20 minutes by walk. It is also closer to the Rotterdam port (Eurospoort). Popular museums include the Marital Museum. In addition to all this beautiful scenery, the Thuis bij Schell is affordable, meeting everyone's budget needs. You are free to go out and return any time that pleases you. Sanitation was also excellent. Cleaners clean the rooms every single day, and at your request, they will change your bedspread at any time. There is absolute freedom.

Actually, in mixed rooms, sometimes some occupants could be noisy, disturbing your peace of mind. Difficult to get microwave to warm your cold dishes. There are fridges in all the rooms, but not too big to contain the number of people who occupy, for instance a 1o-bedroom dorm.

Great location and really suited my budget. You are right in the centre and everything is really close by. The staff are all really helpful and kind.

There were 2 young boys in the room for 2 nights during my 1 month stay and they were really noisy. But this is kinda what you might expect sleeping in a room for 10 people. The staff did kick them out for being too noisy which I think was actually really good of them.

The receptionist was very friendly, my first day of stay the bed was dirty without the sheets changed, she was attentive to solve the problem and assigned me a new bed that was clean and comfortable. the staff was friendly and attentive.

The hostel is located in centre, in one the principal street. Room and bathroom were cleaned everyday and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I recommend this accommodation. Un saludo muchachos 🤗

It is only a short walk to the hostel from Rotterdam Centraal. It’s very near to where the statue of the Kabouter/Gnome holding an Ice lolly mould is now sited (that’s what it looks like to me and I’m happy with that) but is actually meant to represent Santa Claus as well as being amongst other things a commentary on material consumption in the Western world and an opportunity to interpret the art in your own way. The Hostel is the Bar and Restaurant in between Tapperij De Vijgeboom and SLA, opposite Velvet Music… The rooms are fine and the beds are the ones you get in hostels - the facilities also. Once again, I was impressed to find there was a fridge in the room - very handy especially for the Gulpener four-grain wheat beer & a (Limited edition) Grolsch Blond rather than just the obligatory bottle of water. It’s not all that far to Blaak and the market there and Rotterdam has Kringloop/Thrift shops as well as Primark and TK Maxx.

The staff is super helpful. The rooms are big abd very clean. The bathrooms are cleaned every day. A small but very peaceful motel. This motel is highly recommended.
