The hotel seems to be situated in a quiet part of The Hague, at least this time of year (August). Compared to other hotels it might look dated, but in return you get the peace and quiet you expect. The hallways and floors were carpeted, meaning I couldn't hear other guests or staff outside of my room conversing, which is important to me. The bed was also very comfortable. The bathroom came with a bathtub which I always appreciate.

The Wi-Fi was very spotty, it very often lost connection or was very slow when it stayed connected. I had to use my phone's data plan. One of the bedside's lamps was flickering and the power over USB did not work on that side. Once per hour or per two hours the airco would turn on with a loud bang even when it was turned off. The trick was to set it to ventilation (without cooling). I wish that this was communicated to me beforehand, and that I didn't have to figure this out on my own.

Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Stored our bags for the day upon checkout so we could enjoy the city. Peace Palace is very close, as is the Panorama Mesdag. Tram stops are close by. Embassies all around make for a charming, quiet location. The room was large and comfortable. Decor is traditional. There is a restaurant on site with beautiful outdoor patio seating - we did not get a chance to try it.

The soap dish in the shower stall was not clean. I went to put my own bar of soap on the ledge and felt a slimy, white residue of previous soap. It was gross and I had to just use the tub ledge for my soap.

The staff were very helpful with telling us where to park, as the hotel carpark had been fully booked. We then also got upgraded to the Sophia Suite, which was wonderful. Sadly, we didn't have time to use the sauna in the suite, but having two bathrooms and a living room was wonderful. The bed was very comfy and the view from the wraparound balcony was nice.

The shared duvet. Can't stand them. It would be great to be offered the option of single duvets, as we never really sleep well when we're forever trying to snuggle into our share of the duvet, pulling it off each other in the process.

The neighborhood is great, the building itself is great. Beautiful terrace and good breakfast.

It feels like it has seen better days and is behind in maintenance. Naturally, it is a challenge with these big, old buildings, but you should manage that as hotel group. Staff at check in was a bit uninvolved, not really welcoming. Our room on the first floor was quite noisy, due to it being more or less directly above the entrance. Not sure if glass could be improved, but found it a bit annoying. It is a quiet street, so as long as no one is getting in or out of the hotel, it is fine.

Attractivep hotel, very good breakfast, nice room, very central but quiet. Staff were very polite and friendly. Room very clean. Hotel has a nice old fashooned feel, but is very up.to date.

Up to date except for bathroom. Shower in the bath is really a no-no nowadays. This one was also dangerous as bathroom very small, which made getting under the shower even more difficult and dangerous. Bath itself also slippy and no bathmat or rubber strips to help. This really should have been better.

Very charming boutique hotel. The decor everywhere is beautiful, and the rooms are no exception. We had dinner in the restaurant after sightseeing all day, the food was delicious and somewhat reasonably priced. The bed was super comfy. Bathroom was spotless.

The windows are old, and while this definitely adds to the charm of the hotel, they were not properly closing at all... as a result the room was noisy and cold. Thank god for the warm duvet, I guess ? It was fine for our stay as the weather was okay-ish, but I can't imagine what temperatures you get in winter. Completely avoidable and unacceptable, in our opinion.

It's well located in the city, in a very quiet, desirable avenue and within easy reach of major tourist attractions on foot. Well served by public transport too. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well serviced with a fridge and manageable air conditioning. Delicious food served both at breakfast and for evening meals in the restaurant at a fair price. Staff are very warm and welcoming.

Payment via booking.com is treated as a deposit. Need to be clear on whether you're breakfasting on booking or not to be mindful that the daily room rate and tourist tax change accordingly, despite paying ahead. Do not fret if you don't book breakfast. It can be easily sorted. More coathangers, please!

Lovely hotel will beautifully appointed rooms. A generous and spacious welcome to this historic town. Breakfast was good!

the general overwhelm - utter traffic jam - at reception could be better dealt with on our apparently very busy arrival time. Check in took forever. Also the knowledge of the layout could have been better dealt with when offering one person in the party a room that necessitated an extra full staircase when it was obvious the guest - an elderly lady - did not walk well.

I am already a regulat customer of this hotel, given the fact that every 2-3 months I book a room there. I like very much the location, the view from the hotel, the size of the rooms.

Despite the fact that I always require a room with balcony at the moment of booking, sometimes (rare, I have to admit) I don't get a room with a balcony. I know that this cannot be guarantee well ahead, but being someone coming quite often in this hotel, I would appreciate if the staff will remember me and my request.

Location was delightful, quiet and elegant surroundings. Hotel terrace and dining area lovely, food was good, breakfast had an extensive choice and sevice was excellent. The front desk staff were very good, efficient friendly and very helpful, useful information.

One evening the waiter forgot our food order but as soon as we made them aware it was put right and we were not charged for the meal so they put it right. No complaints.
