Wonderful experience. Beautiful boutique hotel located in a forest with extensive grounds. Loved the antiques and castle decor with heavy beams, black and white tiles, elegant furnishings. The restaurant was excellent. Pricing was good value for the quality provided. All staff were charming and helpful. Rooms were elegant and very comfortable. The building is historic so obviously you need to be able manage a staircase. The location is in a very pretty and green suburb, close to Leiden. The area is perfect for cycling, although a car is needed to reach the hotel. We would highly recommend the hotel and will return.

The hotel has huge historical interest and set in its own well maintained grounds. The room was large enough to relax and enjoy and exceptionally cosy and warm and lends the intimate feeling of a family home. Kim and Sophie are fabulous hosts, very knowledgeable and attentive and communicate with enthusiasm, very polite and professional which made our stay extremely enjoyable from the moment we arrived. The bedding was particularly comfortable tc, first class, I was happy to share my experience with family and friends, Brilliant and very well managed !!

Probably needs a knight in shinning armour

Rooms were lovely, well set out and clean. Bathroom was large with a shower and a bath with toiletries, slippers and robes. A minibar was in the room plus a kettle, coffee maker and coffee etc. We had a lovely view of the rear gardens, lake and fountains. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was a good continental served to the table with choice of breads, ham and cheese. Juice was fresh orange. They went out of their way to find something suitable for our vegan daughter - gluten free bread, soy milk.

The walls seemed quite thin. We heard a lot of coughing from the room next door. Would have preferred a choice of cereal, yoghurts and juice rather than just plain yoghurt with granola on the table and orange juice.

We received a lovely warm welcome after a long day of travelling. The restaurant staff went above and beyond, despite the late hour, to make our unexpected and delicious dinner a wonderful experience. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made us feel like valued guests. The building itself is stunning, the room really comfortable. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom!

We didn't much like all the stairs, but were most grateful for the help with our luggage.

The room was very large and comfortable with beautiful views over the garden. It is a very peaceful location in a stunning surrounding. Breakfast was tasty and very generous, good selection of food and drink. Again, service was excellent and very friendly.

We've been to this amazing castle three times already and each time is very special. This time we came to celebtare Valentine's Day and we were met with the glass of prosecco and our room was nicely decorated. Dinner, as usual, was pleasant and delicious.

Breakfast was quite sad and not varied. There were no hot options. Just one boiled egg and muesli. Last time we booked a luxe room, the privacy was perfect, but this time we decided to try to look at other rooms. But the audibility from the next room was as if there was no wall between.

The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Coffee and capucino was freshly made. The hotel was very elegant on quiet beautiful grounds and centrally located. The dinner at the restaurant was excellent and we highly recommend a visit.

The old building did have thin walls so noise from adjacent rooms could be heard. There is no elevator but the staff helped us with our luggage to the second floor.

Staff friendly, beautiful environment, good food, lovely place

When we check in we put already stuff into the room they assigned us. We went downstairs to took some other bag and when we come back the door of our room was open. Three people were there.. apparently they needed to change the phone.. but they should give us a room with zero problem or ask us/tell us some people will come… The situation wasn’t pleasant at all…

Everything about the accommodation was wonderful and lived up to expectations. I was looking for a special and romantic place for a weekend getaway with my partner, and staying in this castle was perfect for this. Parking at its park was simple and easy, the staff were very helpful and accommodating, and the room was delightful. I booked the luxury suite, and it definitely fit the bill! Very spacious room, comfortable bed, great bathroom facilities (shower and bath), and overall beautiful décor. We also had dinner and breakfast at its restaurant, and I would recommend them both!

Nothing of particular note to point out, other than maybe the fact the room was a bit cold.

Magical night with the largest room including sauna and jacuzzi. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed ever, and the spacious suit was relaxing and fresh. The shower soap and cremes smelled amazing! Like bergamot. Plenty of towels, sturdy wifi, quiet and privet.

Very minor but the coffee machine didn’t work well with pods and produce only water
