Recent renovated, nicely fitted and decorated hotel and room. Rooms are - typical vd Valk - far above market standard spacious. Sufficient and free car and bicycle parking spaces. Good food and very pleasant and attentive service in the restaurant. The rooms were very quiet except the shaking wall - see below. Big monitors were placed in the large restaurant to allow customers to watch European Championship football matches. Very good breakfast and large choice of very tasty and fresh products.

I found the staff at the check in desk ok but very formal. I did not get the impression that there was something good and exciting to be expected, unlike their happy and friendly colleagues in the restaurant. One of the walls was quite heavily shaking/ vibrating every time the neighbours closed their door. This was rather annoying and surprised to experience in a freshly renovated hotel. I have a room on the 2nd floor with only one very narrow window.

Nice hotel located a short car journey from The Hague and 40 km from Amsterdam. We stayed there to visit the Keukenhof tulip gardens. Our room was lovely and big and the bed was comfortable and my husband was impressed with the built in wireless chargers on the bedside tables. Even though we didn’t eat there, the restaurant looked nice and we had drinks there one night. There was a small area in the reception area where you could buy snacks and drinks, and there was also a coffee shop that had delicious pastries and breads/croissants.

If I were to be picky then the shower needs to be higher up for those who don‘t like the showers on the ceiling. Also, for those like me who are vertically challenged ( short ), then also it would be nice to have a mirror in the bathroom that extends out.

Room was spacious and comfortable, staff were friendly and very helpful, restaurant was good and the breakfast was delicious. I didn't get a chance to use the gym facilities but they looked great from what i could see

I was staying solo, but if travelling with a partner I wouldn't have liked the fact that the double bed was two single beds pushed together. It would have been good if there was more of a room service menu (sandwiches etc) rather than just being able to order from the restaurant menu

Nicely renovated space, beautiful rooms, great location, helpful staff. Oh- phone charger built into the night stand- Genius!!! All hotels should have this!

The parking situation could definitely be better, long walk from the car to the room due to not many entrances to the hotel. We had a few miscommunications with staff that could easily be cleared up with more training. Hotel should have bell staff or more luggage carts.

The hotel is being rebuilt, and they warn that at the moment it is a bit of a construction site, but that was no problem at all for us. We had a large room on the ground floor which was nice as there are no elevators just now (I'm sure they will be back soon, but check if you are booking in 2023 and you need one). Breakfasts were good, and the hotel dining room was a fine place for dinner. When our plans changed and we stayed an extra three days the hotel staff were very accommodating in finding a room for us. The location is great if you are driving to mutliple places in Holland as we were, but it is not walking distance to anything. That said, the village of Wassenaar is a nearby delight, and you can enjoy walks in the dunes and a lunch or dinner by the seaside in nearby Scheveningen, Wassenaar or Katwijk ann Zee.

We appreciated a lot of things: from outstanding facilities and exterior design; to spacious parking with fast charging stations; to very welcoming staff; and surprisingly tasty breakfasts.

The only drawbacks: an air vent (above the shower) felt off all of a sudden; the layout of Junior Suite was a bit unconventional to me (bathtub in the middle of a room, without any separating wall).

Breakfast great as usual. room/bathroom clean, tidy and well fitted out. Balcony was clean and a wonderfull faility to sit in on what was a sunny vacation.

For the english tea drinkers some milk pods would have been nice but we need to admit the dutch drink all their tea black.

Very stylish and spacious hotel with superb breakfast. Warm welcome on arrival and attentive staff throughout our stay. Great to have free easy parking.

We only realised on our last day that they have bikes available to guests. The journey into the centre is quick by tram but it is a 20 minute walk to the stop.

Location was less than ten minutes away from our meetings. Front desk and housekeeping were friendly and very helpful. We liked very much the 2 bottles of water in our fridge that were replenished daily. The lobby had unlimited coffee until that machine was used to replace the broken one in the dining area.

Limited selection at the restaurant. Breakfast was great but it was the same everyday. We were there for 5 mornings… so we had the same things every day. On the third day, we’d have loved something different. The restaurant had very limited selection. On nights when we were very tired and would have just preferred to dine there, we had to reconsider. Ate twice at the restaurant for dinner and that was pushing it. A real pity because the location was really close for our meetings. The place is under construction so even though we paid for a room with a terrace, we were given one that was facing a construction site and a garden that needs sprucing up. I would have loved a quieter side with a better view.

I spent little time on the property because I had outside events but staff were excellent. Very friendly and extremely attentive.

Ironing services were available at only some locations and sometimes this is inconvenient. However when I called to ask for iron and board it was quickly provided. I think the hotel should provide this availability.
