Nice free buffet breakfast. Room was better than expected (Big TV, 3 beds in the room). Air con was great. Worth the price we paid. Love how we had a fridge and microwave in the room. Location is awesome (Woolworths couple of doors down).

Having to wait around during checkout to get our cash deposit back. Needs flannels in room. Got dust (paint) all on our clothes from the right elevator. (Should've had a sign) Little tiny milks not enough for 2 coffees. Anyone can go to any floor (not secure)

President Hotel is definitely value for money. The hotel's location is super central and has easy access to everything that you need being directly next to Countdown. The breakfast included is basic but still good, boasting hashbrowns, eggs, sausages, bacon and juices. I would definitely recommend staying here based on value for your money.

While President Hotel was overall excellent for what you're paying, please keep in mind that there are a few wacky things about the hotel. The elevators are very problematic at times, they often won't work when you need them and will detour to other floors without prompting. There is a maximum of 15 minutes of hot water in the showers so just be mindful of that, the windows in our room didn't open so it often got very hot easily. Overall these were just smaller details that I think could be improved upon but a still an overall nice stay.

Convenient to all shops. They store luggage for free.

Luggage storage feels a bit not secured. Anyone can pick up bags or luggage.

The room was standard - had everything you would expect but nothing special. The location is great. You can reach everything by foot. When we arrived there was a wonderful staff member from Australia (forgot his name) who gave a lot of recommendations for the area and wanted to make sure we had a great time. Thank you for this! Rest of the staff at reception was Ok. For the price a very good choice

The included breakfast was not vegetarian friendly and not very good at all. As vegetarian you can just eat bread with butter/jam and oats. No non-dairy milk. Furthermore they didn't put these little sign up that say what the food is. So we thought it is hashbrown but it was fish. Staff in the kitchen/breakfast area also didn't seem to know what they serve (is the sausage chicken/pork?) and couldn't help at all when asked something and also didn't seem to care. The shower makes a really loud noise when using it - the person showering can't hear it but the other person in the room. No clue what that was.

I had never stayed there prior and took a free breakfast offer from Booking.com. The room wasn't massive but very clean, comfortable bed, plenty of storage, easy to use heat-pump that was strong enough to keep the whole room warm - and good pressure in the shower. The building is not new but well maintained, there were no weird noises at night, the door locked well. The breakfast was plentiful and filling. I just wish they'd had some tomatoes or a salad or soup to balance the meat and carbs, but I'm not going to complain about hash browns and bacon. The personnel was very efficient at check-in, check-out, good at giving directions and very friendly, both with me and one another. Hospitality is not easy, but they genuinely seemed happy to be there working together.

This is definitely not in the best part of the city at the moment. The Auckland CBD has really gone downhill in the past few years - but of course that has nothing to do with the hotel itself. One has to wonder when the construction works in the area are finally going to be complete.

The location is absolutely ideal — right in the city center with everything you need nearby. There’s a supermarket just next door, and major attractions like the Sky Tower and Queen Street are only a few minutes' walk away. It also takes just around 10 minutes to get to the harbor. I've stayed here a few times now. The location is great, and the pricing is usually pretty good. The free breakfast won't suit every customer but is a great addition to an already affordable stay. I had one of the newly renovated rooms which is looking nice, and had a big TV with Sky Sports (I prefer sky to the streaming services offered at most hotels these days). I hope after renovations the pricing doesn't shoot up because I like this level of accommodation, in the middle between cheap and fancy.

There was no aircon remote in a windowless room. I had to ask the front desk twice to get it sorted but eventually they found one for me. The elevators are slow and noisy, which I heard constantly in my room on the 4th floor near the lifts.

Well located, not flash but very comfortable. I think we had a room upgrade as it was very spacious and we had a king-sized bed with a choice of two pillows each. I welcomed the ironing equipment and the kitchenette. There was a good breakfast available - choice of cereal, yogurt, cooked food etc. Regarding dislikes, nothing of consequence - e.g. the hairdryer was one of those things stuck to the wall in the bathroom rather than a proper appliance you could use in the bedroom. Hotel doesn’t have anything like a pool or gym room - we didn’t need that but others might miss them.

When we checked in, we were given lots of helpful advice about our trip from Robert at reception. He was extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room itself was large and beautiful and we found the beds and bathroom to be very good. There was a little kitchenette which came in handy as we had pizza in our room. The breakfast was very nice. We had scrambled eggs, sausage, mushrooms, beans and hash browns. There was also a range of cereals and toast, fruit and yogurt. The hotel is a five minute walk downhill to the harbour and Sky Tower is very close.

During the reservation process, we selected the twin beds option, but we were given a king bed. We had to get linen from reception and remake the beds ourselves as housekeeping services weren't available. Our room was on floor 13, with a great view of Sky Tower. Unfortunately there was a loud humming noise all night. The air con was welcome and effective, but the other noise meant it took us a while to get to sleep. I would recommend taking earplugs just in case.

The family room was spacious, plenty of room for a 6ft teenager, Mum & Dad. It was nice to be able to open a window too. Bathroom was a little tired but the main area were great. Clean & good kitchette. Perfect for our needs. Brilliant location.

We were on the 5th floor in rm 501 & could hear the 3 lifts grinding up & down. it wasn't annoying but just noticeable. There was a huge group of Chilean students checking out as we arrived & they took up the whole foyer & were loud & mucking around but soon they lined up outside so we could then sit down - it was fine - we could see the Adults were getting it under control. It looked like the reception was temporary & the roads works out the front will be there for a while but all in all it was a nice stay.
