Location checked! I like the location it's near to a lot of leisure activities in the heart of the CBD. Just 2 minutes' walk to the grocery store, bank with ATM machine, 24/7 restaurant, bars and 2 to 3 minutes' walk to Sky Tower Auckland. I have booked this place four times now, and I still love it very much. Price and location wise. The staff are both friendly and very nice. The atmosphere in the lobby/reception is great. I highly recommend this one. Their price is very affordable compared to the other 3 backpackers I have been to nearby. They have a nice and well-ventilated reception/lobby, which is superior to the others.

It is located in a great area in the city centre, next to Queen Street. The rooms are clean, spacious with good ventilation windows that are opening from the top. The people in the reception are really very helpful, very polite, and will do their best to accommodate your needs. Antonio and Rio are really wonderful, very friendly and do their best to feel comfortable. They will advise you in all matters in relation to the accommodation and also in relation to the city, sightseeing. They go above and beyond to help you with everything you need. They are very organised, social and always with a smile. Jimmy, the supervisor, is very good is passing down knowledge and teaching the team. A big thank you to everyone!

For value and location you cannot beat this place. I always stay here when I’m in Auckland. (The Skytower photo is taken from my bedroom window!) *It’s very close to the Intercity bus stop and connecting buses to the airport. *The beautiful waterfront is just a stroll away. *Queens St is just a couple of minutes away with plenty of shops, bars and eating places. *The beds are comfortable.

The kitchen is grubby and very crowded, especially at certain times of the day. The housekeeping staff try to keep the toilets & showers clean but sadly some of the guests don’t!

Location, everything I need is in the premises, toilet, washing machine and dryer so good, kitchen, fridge and freezer and off course people,staffs, great atmosphere . I do believe that the best people on earth are those from different countries who loves to go places I have never have this experience before in my life yeah I'm enjoying very much being amongst n most of All I sleep well which is important to me.

Snoring not many though

I've stayed at this backpackers several times, and it ticks the boxes well for me. The mattress is comfortable, linen is clean. I felt very safe. I also had a couple of issues during the stay where I arrived back after midnight and my bag was locked in the luggage area, the owner kindly came down very early the next morning (5:20am) to open up the luggage area so that I could get my bag. I also forgot to drop off the key, but I put it on a courier, the staff were very understanding about this situation.

I love coming here, because of the friendly staff and the consistency with their service. Even though the facilities are pretty average, you get really good deals here and can stay in a dorm for a very very cheap price. So it balances everything out, if you don't mind :)

Everytime I stay the water in the showers is cold, I don't mind :) But I know for some it can be an issue :) I usually don't use the kitchen there. That's the only area I find very messy and dirty all the time :)

Love the location and that receiption offer supplies at a great price. Staff were great and very accomodating. The other people staying were very friendly. Great amount of facilities on each floor.

Bedding was stained/dirty (i imagine it would have been washed beforehand though!) And mattress was quite uncomfortable (i understand good ones are expensive), we ended up buying second pillows as the ones we had were thin. Also window is unable to close so was quite a breeze as it was raining and added noise, otherwise a good stay :) Our mistake for not saying anything on the first night of course, I am sure they would have helped us out with these issues as they were great people.

Excellent location. I had a solo room. The key was a little bit difficult to get into the room, but it would’ve been safe getting out in an emergency. There was no outside or street noise but in the early part of the evening there was some water gurgling in pipes but this stopped and did not affect my sleep. Staff were very helpful and I was amazed at how inexpensive it was for a solo room in the centre of town. I would definitely stay there again.

Surf N Snow location is the best! Reception staff is super nice and helpful! I have been in this hostel almost 2 months now!

Not the cleanest hostel but it’s old building amd lot of backpackers coming through all the time. Def will recommend this hostel even for longer visit (I have been in 4-Bed room.

I had a great stay at this hostel. It's in an excellent location, close to everything I needed. I stayed in a private room, which was spacious and very clean—exactly what I was hoping for. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
