Great location

Paying $59 for parking

I loved the convenience (just a street away from Queen Street/everything central), the room I was given had a nice view, I was able to adjust the room temperature every time, the bed was comfortable, the facilities were great, the convertible bathroom and shower by just one door was unique, I enjoyed the free access to the gym and breakfast buffet, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I also loved how they emphasised water conservation regarding towel usage.

There was always a ticking noise every night located near the top shelf above the clothes rack and in my first night it lasted for so long, not sure what that was. I was also slightly confused about the door signs because I had cleaners go in my room when I didn't put up a sign but they never came to clean the room when I hung the "Housekeeping Please" door sign side.

Wonderful breakfast and liked the dining room, plenty of tables. Didn’t feel like “express” hotels. Great location to explore the downtown area by foot.

Could use better signage for elevator access from street to reception. Awkward.

The room was very spacious and our bed was surprisingly heaps bigger than what I expected. The hotel is located to everything we need and really close to shops.

Hopefully there would be variations on the set of breakfast being served per day.

The breakfast selection was great, but would love a more varied option for guests that stay a while as some of the food gets tiring after a while. Beds were nice and I liked the AC and the view we got was nice as well.

The first couple of days our room wasn't made up up until 4-5pm onwards which was annoying as we wanted to come back and rest, but we had to leave again as we noted the cleaning staff were just making the rooms up on the floor we stayed on at that time. We were also not a big of the bathroom door as it was really annoying regarding the water flowing out to the toilet area.

Location was very conducive. Right in Auckland CBD where everything is accessible. Room I had was large and spacious, bed was very comfortable allowing us to rest well.

The room that was initially given to was not the room type that we booked. But they were able to change it right away when we brought it to the attention of the front desk. But we had to lounge our heavy luggage by ourselves when we changed rooms which was very inconvenient. Breakfast also doesn't seem to change. It's the same breakfast menu they served during the entire duration of our stay. This was also the exact same breakfast menu served the entire duration during the last time we stayed in 2023.

The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful. The location was so close to everything - a 5 minute walk to the Sky Tower and right in down town Auckland. The facilities were really clean. The breakfast was really good. So much selection. We travel a lot and this place far exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to stay again and will be recommeding it to our friends. We travel a lot and the staff at the Holiday Inn were some of the best that we have ever encountered. Nothing was a problem. You would be hard pressed to find a place this good for the price right in the central city.

Our daughter didn't like frosted glass bathroom in the room. You can't see through it but she didn't like the thought of it. I think putting a thin layer of gib on the bedroom side would be a good idea in some of the rooms.

We've enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the Princes Wharf, along Queen Street, however the entrance is located on a slope. You then have to take two sets of elevators to get to reception. Staff at reception are helpful and courteous. However they are harder to reach over the phone. We have three rooms in total, only two rooms were ready by 3pm. It could be a busy day for them as there were many cruise passengers checking in that day. Rooms are spacious and clean. Plenty of power outlets to charge devices. Couldn't hear any noise from the streets nor from the corridor. Only downside is that the bathroom window is made of frosted glass and it's still fairly see through in the shower! Breakfast spread is simple and the dining area is a nice space to spend time in if you don't want to be in the room. Queen Street is only a minute walk away. Many good restaurants and shops nearby.
