Very central, easy walking distance to shops/eateries. Staff were super friendy and helpful. Basic accommodation, you get what you pay for.

The awful Chinese woman who started to complain to the receptionist when she got there and was still complaining when I got back from my event 6 hours later with her mobile phone interpreter. Poor man on duty, was being so nice while she was being atrocious. Felt like gagging her and chucking her out but not worth the ankle bracelet jewellery, she might have known Kung Fu too but I don't. What did she expect for little over $100 per night central city...The Langham?

Generally, I usually do not like backpacker accommodation but this was close to where I needed to be. It was clean, location was perfect not far from places to eat and just around the corner from where I needed to be the next day. The room itself was a bit bigger than other backpacker's i have stayed in and cleaned. The ensuite was great. The guy at reception was polite, friendly and socialable which helps when you are travelling on your own. !! I would stay here again if needing to be somewhere in their vicinity. Thank you for a pleasant trip.

Only downside, the lift stopped working so I had to walk up to the fifth floor. To their credit though it was working the next day - yay!

The first room allocated was fine but the bed too short. So we got a room with kingsize bed- 2 singles made together which was great. It is not a romantic hostel. Long termers cook in the communal kitchen but they are nice people. The location is great for dining. We enjoyed the korean food at Bamboo just around the corner. Easy walk to the Tower and other sights. It has strict rules on noise etc.

I didn't expect it to be flash, and it isn't. I didn't like that I couldn't remember how to score in billiards. In the lounge is a free snooker table and I was trying to teach my wife. We had fun.

The staff and residents were lovely, great kitchen on the top floor.

My bathroom wasn't very clean but honestly, I would just buy a bottle of jif at the local new world and clean it myself for the low cost, location and really nice staff. I have stayed at a few hostels in Auckland and I found this one to be a great location and value for money.

Very friendly staff. Warm, clean and safe rooms. No construction going on nearby. A nice atmosphere and friendly people staying there. Close to every thing including buses, trains and Ferry ⛴. A good kitchen. No key deposit and can pay on booking.com or at the hostel.

The room I booked was the double king on the 6th floor. A nice view of the street below.. Nothing negative to report. No bugs in the bed. Clean sheets. Very hygienic. A good heater in the room. A closet with plenty of storage.

after reading so many bad reviews I was a bit afraid. I booked it because of the great discount they were doing and the amazing location. well, you know what? it went beyond my expectation. Of course, it is a hostel, so you can't expect a 5 stars hotel, but for the value, it was more than great. Huge room, lots of toilets and showers, 24h reception, amazing location, and super cheap! you can't find anything better. very satisfy

maybe you can send someone to clean the bathroom a bit more often...

The staff are very friendly. The lady on reception was really lovely and professional. The location is really good.

Our room had some furnishings that were of no use. The table was a bit small and only one chair. White paint on the carpet. The elevator was turned off at night throughout the early morning. The bed is made up of two separate beds put together and they are on wheels so that the beds separate during the night.

Room was cleaner than majority of reviews made me expect, beds were comfy, great location and cheap, staff were friendly.

The toilets and showers need a bit of a clean, toilets and showers were out of order on our floor so we had to go to different floor

The room was dirty, tv sreen doesnt work, you can hear everything even from other floors, we heard a couple having sex like if they were on the same room.. kitchen was dirty and no clutery...

Very nice staff, nice rooftop area, We booked the private room without a window but it had a skylight window which was perfect and better than expected! Also the room was nicely prepared with towels and soap
