The location is perfect, right in the heart of Britomart with the train station next by and the Commercial Bay shopping centre less than 5 min away. The hotel boasts of tasteful presentation and clever design. The Library Lounge is an excellent room for a quite drink with extensive drink selection to choose from. I appreciated the good quality shampoo/body wash provided. The best quality of the hotel is the staff members, they were very friendly and helpful, always courteous with smiles on their faces.

If I have to pick one thing, that would be the tea from the room service breakfast was in a takeaway cup. Would prefer a teapot and tea cup but the tea was hot and strong so not complaining.

We enjoyed breakfast in the Kingi restaurant, requested a small meal option and loved the chef's toasted 'Southland cheese roll' which was just perfect. Wait staff were all friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed a martini and olives in 'The libraries' each evening. Again, the staff member there was very welcoming and attentive and knew how to mix martinis! Front desk and concierge staff were helpful and friendly and helped with handling luggage for us. The fabric of the hotel, with wood, stones and exposed bricks - and a 5 star energy rating - was our reason for staying there and we were not disappointed.

Location is excellent. Hotel is well maintained.

Room is quite small. There are no drawers for your clothes and very few hangers are provided. Ice buckets not provided and when requested you get one without a top. Ice melts very quickly. I had reserved room INCLUDING breakfast but was told breakfast was not included. I had to provide my confirmation email to prove that breakfast was indeed included. Hotel added an additional charge for using credit card to pay bill which was not mentioned anywhere in my booking.

Beautifully designed with sleek, modern interiors offer a refined and stylish atmosphere. The staff were exceptional—professional, friendly, and genuinely courteous. The location is unbeatable. Nestled in a vibrant area, the hotel is surrounded by fabulous restaurants, chic cafés, and a premium shopping mall just steps away.

Basic room is priced somewhat premium considering the room size and would be a stretch for value-conscious guests.

I love the contemporary looking and feel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant was lovely and good value. Fantastic location.

My rain shower didn’t work particularly well. The lights were overcomplicated and difficult to use. But the most important thing that was missing was storage space. There is room to hang up shirt, jackets, and trousers, but no drawers for other items of clothing. Also, if you are traveling for work, there isn’t actually a desk to sit and use.

Great rooms with comfortable beds and blackout blinds - for people who struggle to get sleep, the britomart may be where the struggle ends. Staff were very accommodating and super friendly. Stayed here for my birthday and was generously provided with drink vouchers during my stay. Excellent location, and I appreciate the measures taken to reduce unnecessary waste. A lovely hotel overall, I would happily recommend it.

Bar fridge was very well stocked but everything came at an additional cost and very little was included in the price of the room. For what it costs to stay a night, I would expect more. Complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are available, but that's it. Also, the degree to which the fridge was stocked meant there was no room to keep anything brought in personally, making it more of an inconvenience than anything. Lastly a bond was required of $50 per night, which is reasonable, but I don't recall this ever being communicated prior to my stay.

The location of the Hotel Britomart can't be beat -- the Saturday market is just outside, it's in a largely pedestrian area so there's little traffic noise, you can easily walk to the ferry, to shopping, to many delightful restaurants, to the starting point for the Explorer hop on - hop off bus around the city. The staff is accommodating, friendly and pleasant. The rooms are clean, well-designed and the view from ours (9th floor) was spectacular. The elevators are fast. The restaurant, Kingi, offers superb breakfasts. A great base camp for exploring Auckland, Waiheke Island and much more.

The room size is a little snug, especially if you're a couple on a long trip (9 weeks) and have 2 large suitcases plus a few smaller bags with you. Maneuvering around the luggage on the way to the bathroom took some caution and coordination. And it took 3 tries to get extra covers for our king bed so we didn't have to share them, which doesn't work well for us. But the staff were nice about it and I think the core of the problem was that we didn't explain exactly what we needed well enough.

We enjoyed everything about our staycation at the Hotel Britomart. The public foyer is welcoming and beautifully designed, and the rooms are an extension of that first impression. As returning guests, we enjoyed the comfort of the compact room, the amenities and the cosy shower room. The sansceuticals toiletries are wonderful and suit the vibe of the hotel. The location of the hotel makes exploring lots of different areas around town very easy and we were glad we could utilise the hotel bicycles. We felt rested and rejuvenated after our long-weekend staycation and would easily consider returning again.

A sauna in the gym area would be a great addition.

Location was perfect, in-house restaurant was lovely and waitstaff were fantastic. Lovely overall design and the actual beds were comfortable. Room was lovely and dark for sleeping.......except the noise.

For the age and rating of the hotel rooms were noticeably a bit shabby. The parquet floor was not put down properly and whenever one of us went to the bathroom at night we woke each other up as it was soooo loud, did not make for a restful sleep. I expressed our concern to the front desk and apart from coming to look at the floor no one ever spoke to us about it again, they just acted like nothing happened. So although beds were comfortable and room was dark, I am disappointed that our concerns were in no way addressed, not even an apology. Hotel rooms also had no drawers.....never ever experienced that, just a bit odd.

The photos make the rooms seem darker than they really are, particularly those facing the outside. If you prefer more natural light, select the outside (versus lane) facing rooms. The rooms are a bit small, but very well designed, appointed, easy to use, and luxurious for the price. Location is excellent. The seafood restaurant downstairs, kingi, has a great vibe, food, and drinks, as does cafe hanoi, which is next door, but not affiliated with the hotel. We requested adjoining rooms, and got two at the end of the hall with a central door, so felt like a suite (could put our luggage and other items in the shared vestibule). The staff are extremely helpful, friendly, and polite, including reception, concierge, and housekeeping. Service is excellent.

Not much.
