This room far exceeded our expectations. Our room was large and well appointed (including large wardrobe, iron and ironing board), and was bright and attractive, had a comfy large king size bed (plus a twin that we didn't use), a gorgeous large bathroom with walk-in shower, hair dryer, and towel warmer, and a kitchenette that included everything needed, including a very cold fridge with small but very effective freezer, a built-in cook-top and all the pots/pans/utensils needed for basic meals. The office person was also helpful with all of our questions. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations and value. A plus was the free airport shuttle with a pleasant and helpful lady driver who made multiple pickups at approximately 3:30am to accommodate those of us with early flights. We would absolutely book here again if we visit NZ again!

I was delighted with the size of the room, which featured lots of space, a kitchenette that could be screened off, a spacious bathroom (complete with bath sheets & fluffy robes) and a huge, comfy bed with plenty of pillows to choose from. Fresh milk, a coffee pot, tea & hot chocolate selection, plus heaps of options for charging devices AND a complementary wake up call & airport shuttle made it exceptional value and impressively comfortable.

It appears some disrespectful guests in the past have stained the carpet in a few places which is a shame as the room is lovely besides that. I imagine if it was raining you'd get soaked going to & from the rooms as there wasn't a covered walkway.

I am beyond satisfied with my stay. This is probably one of the best hotels I've stayed at in New Zealand. I rarely write reviews, but this place deserves a 5-star rating. Initially, I didn’t have high expectations, thinking it was just a standard motel, but I was pleasantly surprised. To start, Keith was incredibly kind. He picked me up from the airport, carried my bag to the room, and even heated the room so I could order food before the restaurant closed. He then walked me to my room and opened the door for me. The receptionist and staff were very friendly. I had food delivered to my room, which was spacious and clean. I can tell the place is well taken care of, and I truly felt welcomed. What I really want to say is that it is rare to come across people who genuinely enjoy their jobs and are sincere, as opposed to providing just standard service. The staff here go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Their genuine care and attention to detail are evident in everything they do. From the warm welcome to the attentive service, they truly make you feel like a valued guest rather than just another customer. This level of service is a rarity, and it made my stay memorable and exceptional. On top of all that, the price is very affordable, making the exceptional service even more impressive.

Well organised. The beautiful restaurant in the centre of this property was magnificent. The delightful (3) staff waitress/ Bar attendant, waiter/kitchen assistant-and chef were exceptional. There were extremely busy yet they all stayed polite, calm and streamlined. The meals that the chef prepared were amazing definitely 5+ stars. Absolutely top quality. An establishment is only as good as its staff and the owners are very lucky to have such talented and caring staff. We hope they are paid their worth or they well certainly be poached. The grounds were well maintained and a playground for children. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Congratulations to all.

Great service - Georgia was a hoot! - and very helpful. Nice new room, but a bit on the squeezy side for the price I think is fair to say. Convenient with the car parked right outside the door, especially as we had tons of luggage. late checkout was much appreciated too!

Well, we've stayed here quite a few times before, so we know that we are always looked after, and this time was no exception. But we're pretty low maintenance and had everything we needed to be comfortable, so didn't need for much. The unit's information booklet really needs to be proof-read by someone who knows their stuff. Some of the commentary is nonsensical - ask Georgia to show you what I mean...

Excellent from start to finish. Shuttle bus to pick you up and drop you back from airport... very fast and efficient and free! Lovely driver. I paid an extra $25 to get into the room a couple of hours early which worked for us. Food in the restaurant is absolutely delicious. The chef is highly skilled . Ate there for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend. Rooms are very large, clean and have everything you need. Very comfy beds. Quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Staff are lovely, shuttle a breeze, great rooms, unbelievable food in the restaurant.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The airport shuttle was handy. Also, having a restaurant on the premises was a bonus. As a woman traveling alone, I found this place safe n secure. Near to the airport and central christchurch. Sarah picked me up from the airport, she was really nice, also asked me if I needed towels etc. Fresh milk in a glass bottle was cute. The appliances were all in good working condition. My room was superb. The pillows and sheets were excellent. No nasty smells. Clean refreshing and relaxing.

At the reception, the lady asked me to pay for my 2 day stay upfront on arrival.. is that normal? Shouldn't we be paying at the time of checkout. I found that a bit off/ odd. At the restaurant, I asked for butter, and I was told the butter is already on the toast... I, as an adult, would like to spread butter myself on my toast. I had ordered a pot of english breakfast tea. Cup came without a saucer. I got up n and found a saucer. These things aren't a major. However, it mattered to me.

Payment is an issue. Although it is clearly explained in the fine print, that bond thing sucks. You make the booking online using your credit card and no money comes out, until the day of your stay. THEN on the day of your stay, two payments come out! One for the actual room cost and then another one of $200, which apparently gets refunded the day you leave anyway. Like, just charge me ONCE, on the day it's booked! Make some interest in the meantime. It cost nearly $800 to book 2 rooms costing $400.

Great little 'old school charm motel' only 2.2,km from the airport and they pick you up and drop you off to the airport 24/7. Staff were really friendly, genuine and helpful, true hospitality. Very nicely outfitted restaurant, I had a great meal. Washing machines available, back patio area, clean, warm room, fantastic hot shower, real milk in a glass bottle for your coffee, it's the little things.... I recommend, especially if you're travelling.

There's not much not to like, the room is a little dated but it is spacious, clean, warm and had a great shower. Bed was comfy, big telly, all the usual stuff. I was on ground level so easy access and with a back patio, was nice to be able to sit outside.

The room was awesome and the people were awesome and more than willing to help with anything I may have needed! They organised a shuttle at 3.30am to the airport which turned up early and got me there on time which goes along way when travling lol.

Can’t fault the room or the people at all! However the restaurant that is on site was a massive let down,I ordered the large steak Chinese salad type meal in a large option for 33$,the meal literally had 3 paper thin slices of steak in it and 3 small prawns,I’m 6ft and 120kg I need my food so I asked for the chef to correct it they spoke between them selfs for over 5 minutes like it was summit issue to then tell me they couldn’t cook extra meat because it goes against the chefs receipe 😂I don’t usually winge but issues like this are almost certainly always fixed however they would not.so I’ll avoid them from now on!
