Loved it! Stayed in the pod, super comfortable with all the small details catered to the functions you would need by the bed. The bed is very cozy. I especially enjoyed the common area! I loved the lounge chair and turns out they are a quite expensive purchase lol. I was tempted to buy one myself but the cost shook me, and then you have this new respect for LyLo😂 I stayed there for one night due to an early flight. But I reckon it’s also good to stay there in general if you want to explore nearby areas. There are things like supermarkets and restaurants right next to LyLo which is surprisingly convenient considering it’s so near the airport.

All the tasty food smell from the kitchen area does go over to the whole common area which can be a bit much if you just wanna chill there. So perhaps some sort of ventilation in the kitchen area might help.

A good community vibe with many travellers using Lylo as a hub before moving on to the next destination. Very easy check-in, which is important after a long flight when you just want to get to your room quickly. Great facilities for what one needs for such a stay. Value for money was excellent given that neighbouring hotels charge significantly more when most people are likely just after a place to sleep during an overnight layover.

The reception area isn't always manned, so getting help or renting a towel isn't as easy or convenient as it should be. Although the reception area doesn't look like a comfortable area for staff to work at, so I don't blame them.

The convenience of the location from the airport, friendliness, will to help with any questions.

Umm this is a hard question to answer, maybe it wasn’t something I didn’t like, but more of a suggestion….it would be great to have tea & coffee in the rooms that have the bed and bathrooms together as we came in after midnight and only stayed until 10am, which meant not been able to have our own tea & coffee, we had to go downstairs to find some and trying to make sure we didn’t use other people’s stuff, so it would be really nice to have the tea & coffee in the rooms

The common room/kitchen is probably the best of any hostel I've ever stayed in! Lovely spacious area with big windows and loads of comfy seating including hammocks. The rooms/pods were also great, comfy and clean, and just felt very well designed with places to put your things, plug in chargers etc. Really good value for the price, would definitely stay here again. Staff were also super friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful. Great location next to the airport and with shops nearby.

My only comment would be that the pods are not 'true' pods, they just have a blind that you pull down rather than a proper door so don't block out any noise. Having said that they are still much more self-contained, private and comfy than other standard hostel beds.

LyLo was well located to the airport, public transport and local shops. The beds were comfortable and the pods were great with large lockers underneath. Good showers, weekly movie nights and pool tournaments. Staff were friendly and helpful - make sure to ask for a discounted pass to the international Antarctic centre!

There wasn’t a lot of atmosphere - if you were travelling solo, it would be a difficult place to meet others. Whilst the location is great for the airport, if you don’t have a car it’s about 30 min by bus to the city and fares are $4. But the bus stop is right out the front :)

It is so convenient to have a hostel tight next to the airport! As there are no busses later in the night (after 22) and very early in the morning to eventually catch some very early flights, I definitely recommend this place for its perfect location

The pods are confy and private, however as they are in plastic, as the curtains, it can be really warl inside when the curtains are closed. There is AC inside, which you can switch on, but it is super loud, so beware of that. There is also a lot of light from the charger points in the pod, however that is very easily solved by just putting some clothes on it ;) Be aware the whole building uses quite dry AC if you are throat disiease sensitive. I recommend some cloth on your mouth or a comfy mask to keep your breathing system moist.

Our stay was very comfortable. We arrived very late at 1.30 a.m. walking from the terminal with heavy roller bags - it took 20 minutes, but was flat. There was somebody at the check in desk to welcome us. The room was small and compact, however, had all facilities and was comfortable. There was a tea making station at the end of our hall, which we found - we were not told about its existence. There is no breakfast served on site - it is available in a cafe a short walk away and the hotel does give a paid voucher.

We stayed in a Family Pod (8 of us), and it was an incredible experience! The kids absolutely loved it. The bed was very comfortable, and each pod is equipped with air conditioning and a convenient plug socket. The shared bathroom was clean, and we really loved the strong water pressure. My favorite part was the common area—it's an open space with full kitchen facilities, including all the necessary utensils. The lounge area was cozy and even had a hammock, plus there were plenty of board games and other activities available for everyone to enjoy.

The Family Pod Room could benefit from more space for luggage and movement, allowing for a more comfortable experience.

Well thought out room which although small works much better than say Ibis small rooms. The chill out lounge more than makes up for the lack of in room facilities (Kettles etc). The staff, in particular the night manager, were excellent and very helpfully. Local access to food outlets is very good, all within a short walk.

The advertising blurb says it is 10 minutes walk from the airport. Whilst this might be possible with no luggage and knowing all the shortcuts, It is not possible pushing a loaded baggage trolley.

I just had a pod in an 8-bed room, which gives great privacy for a dorm. Having a locker below is good to store luggage, while the charging port and power point in the pod are handy. Communal facilities of lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities were all clean and well-appointed. Free food & giveaway stuff as left by other travellers are a nice touch.

I don’t have any suggestions to make, as the only possible drawback I can see is the possibility of being woken by other guests making noise within a dorm, which didn’t happen anyway.
