A very warm welcome at Reception. The room was ready and was warm with a lovely sunshine shining through the front. The parking was right at the front door without seeming to crown the entrance. Plenty of space to be able to unload with ease. The restaurant menu was excellent and great value for money. I would say that the popularity of the locals in the restaurant speaks well for the quality of the food. Breakfast was good and as early as you want it. Plenty of choice. Although there was not really a kitchen as such there were tea making facilities with tea and coffee, crockery, cutlery and a fridge and microwave in the room.

Room was clean, but it did have a smell like someone had smoked in that room. My asthma flared up and my nose blocked straight away, even though it did say it was a smoke free room. Lots of dust on the desk but otherwise very clean. Restaurant roast meal was awesome but lots of deep-fried food.

The checking in process was not great, had to go through the pub as I arrived at 6 pm. No signage was told to go outside and down the road to the pub entrance. Not a great welcome, then had to wait for someone to help as the lady behind the bar did not know how to check me in.

The shower pressure was great! It wasn’t just little drips and draps like some other places. Convenient parking right outside the room. Super friendly staff, receptionist was really lovely.

One big downfall was the heater always had a 2 hour timer on every time you turned it on so throughout the night it was freezing unless someone got up to turn the heater back on.

On arrival I thought the place would be loud and unruly as it was a Thursday night and the sports bar was full as well as the carpark with trucks. I was pleasantly surprised as to how quiet it was - I’m not sure how the trucks got out of the carpark so quietly in the wee hours!

The shower water didn’t heat up to really hot but it was still doable and not worth the walk to go and tell someone about it. The only thing I hated was walking into the full sports bar on my own with my pack and standing awkwardly at the bar while signing in (as it was about 6.30pm). I didn’t enjoy it and hated the feeling of not knowing who I should be talking to.

Was travelling through so was ideal as a stopover. Close to the highway so easy start in the morning. On site bar, restaurant, TAB so no need to go anywhere else. Comfy bed. Morning coffee and a good price for what I was after. It's a stopover for trucks but I didn't notice any extra noise. Although I was up about 7am. Right on the doorstep to riccarton Racecourse as well, if you're looking for accomms for a race day.

Nothing really. I wanted a spot to crash before carrying on north in the morning and it was bang on.

Very nice and quiet, trucks park in grounds but you really wouldn’t know as they were considerate when leaving. Close to Chch central , Hornby and Riccarton.Nice and clean and comfortable especially the bed!.

Not really something that I didn’t like but was a bit difficult to find checking desk from the car park,So rang the receptionist and she told me how to find it.

Overall it was nice to have two rooms connected to each other as we booked two rooms for our group. The fascilities and location were great and staff was accomodating as well.

the beds that we had smells like smoke or it felt like it was not washed/clean. When you went into the room it smells like smoke as well.

Great location Bar and restaurant on site makes it an ideal place to stay

The noisy car club that we’re staying beside us that got up and revved their engines early in the morning. Beyond the hotel’s control though I guess

The rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable - excellent value for money. Perfect launch pad for a New Zealand holiday. Easy parking, great nights sleep and fantastic meals after afternoon flights in.

Some travelers may not like filling up the kettle or doing dishes from the bathroom sink. Everything is very clean so for an overnight trip and only really making coffee and washing up a cup or two this was not of any real consequence to me.

I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room and facilities. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. The room was warm and cozy, and the added convenience of being able to park right in front of the apartment was a bonus. Despite it being a race weekend, the surroundings were surprisingly quiet during the night. Additionally, having access to Sky Sports, was a fantastic feature, and the restaurant offered delightful coffee options. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
