We stayed in deluxe 2 twins bed room for 3 nights. The bed and pillows were very comfortable to sleep. The room was clean and big enough for 3 of us. The bathroom was clean . Staff service was good . There is coin washer and dryer self service it was good if you need to wash your clothes. Per wash/dryer was NZ$6. The hotel nearby there is Northland shopping mall but you need to walk 15mins. But there were few eateries cafe/ KFC nearby. If you need to go to CBD, you can take bus 1, travel time about 15-20mins. Overall experience with Hotel Elms were good and will return in the near future.

Extended our 2 night stay to 4 nights in an upgraded deluxe room. Large spacious accommodation, comfortable queen bed, walk in shower and newly refurbished rooms. Great buffet breakfast and good bar and restaurant. Very helpful and friendly staff, in particular duty manager Karan who helped with our travel arrangements and sorted out our booking when we extended our stay. The hotel is conveniently located to Northlands shopping centre as well as local shops and eateries. It’s only a 20 minute bus journey to Christchurch centre which is more convenient than driving in.

This was a well appointed hotel that provided everything I needed. Excellent bathroom facilities; good desk to work at; very good coffee making facilities. There were two large beds in the room! Very good heat pump. The dinner meal was superb.

The lighting was mostly good but a desk light on the desk would have been helpful. The interconnection between the TV remote and the screen did not seem to work well and was not intuitive to use. I found it frustrating as I could not get to the channel I wanted easily.! Otherwise all was well.

It is located very near to the Christchurch airport (within 15 mins drive) and so it was convenient for us who needed to fly home the next day.

We were placed on a floor with noisy tour/group travellers. The hotel walls are pretty thin and we could hear the loud conversations along the corridor. Perhaps the hotel management can consider putting big group travellers and couple/single travellers in separate floors. The other thing is that the signboard indicating the entrance to the hotel is too small and easily missed. This can also be improved.

The hotel looked modern and the rooms were cosy. Bathroom was great. There is a restaurant in the ground floor if you want to grab a meal. The location was good....there were a few place to ear outside...but not a huge selection. It was close to the airport.

The hotel charges parking and they have only a few parking spots on premises. Street parking is available for free, if you can find a spot.

The hotel is conveniently located on upper Papanui Road, so walking to shops/mall turned out to be very practical. The whole complex is clean, well maintained and well presented, and the rooms were the same. Big guest carpark. Caters to tours and groups as well as single travelers. They will shuttle you to the airport if you request. Complex has an attached bar/restaurant and garden bar. I didn't eat there but the menu looked good, so next time. The room was a good size for single or couple, had a very clean bathroom (shower & bath). The bed mattress was amazingly comfortable. The TV system had movies channels or you could access your own Netflix. The real gems for this place are the staff. All of them were friendly and incredibly helpful.

A stalwart in Christchurch accommodation, which has been thoughtfully refurbished. The reception still looks pretty plain, but the room I was in on the 4th floor was tastefully decorated, modern and super comfortable. The bathroom and shower were very nice, a nice touch was an automatic motion detection light for a late night toilet visit. The staff were accommodating and even cleared the next night in the event I needed to extend my stay, which I did. Really well located in Papanui, about 4km from the airport and 5km from centre city. Plenty of places to eat with 5 mins drive.

Great staff. Very nice breakfast with lots of options. Could leave luggage after checking out. Shuttle van to the airport - this was our main reason for booking this hotel, and it's proximity to Northlands Shopping Centre where we could walk to to while away a couple of hours before taking the shuttle to the airport. Good price too.

Very noisy air conditioner and right beside a bed.. No walk-in shower. No tap for jug at the jug counter - had to go into the bathroom to fill the jug but this is a minor issue. TV difficult to find your way around. Beds seem to be memory foam and the indents from previous bodies didn't work for us a we like a flatter sleeping surface.

The room was a good size, very clean, and the bed, pillows, and duvet were comfortable. The staff were friendly and greeted us warmly whenever we came and went. The location was excellent—just a short walk to the shops and a quick drive to the city center. The TV had a great selection of channels, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly.

The toilet roll kept slipping off the holder, but it was a minor issue and the only flaw in an otherwise excellent experience.

Very spacious apartment. Very clean and had all the amenities needed for a very enjoyable holiday. It also had a powder room at the entrance with a toilet so most convenient to use instead of using main bathroom.

The Rubgy boys running up and down the corridors, very loud as our room was next to check in counter on the bottom floor. When we advised the front counter no-one did anything about it.
