So, the Cranford Oak was not our first choice. It was the backup plan. More on the reasons for that in another post elsewhere... First off, just want to say that the management (Tony and John) really went over and above to deliver on service. Highly recommended 👌 👍. They went out of their way for us, and I've not forgotten that curtesy. The motel itself is actually OK. The bed is spacious and comfy, and the shower runs hot. To be fair, it's an older building, so it has older building wear n tear. The big draws for us, spa Bath 🛁, close enough to airport 🛫, and price $. In that order. And we were not disappointed. The laundry was nice n clean and accessible. The single biggest question my wife had, why did they have brown flannels and hand towels? (Admittedly unusual, but not a deal breaker.) The not-so-hot stuff, roadnoise, and late arrivals driving in and their headlights lighting up unit like noon day sun. Its just the layout. The wall heater wasn't working, but there was a replacement heater that worked perfectly fine. All-in-all, satisfied with a 3 night stay and recommended.

Good location and very reasonably priced for our little family. Lovely people! Our little boy was unwell and they were very understanding and helpful. Despite being on a busy road, the double glazing means you don't hear road noise. We were in the closest unit to the road too. Very warm.

I personally didn't mind, but I know I have friends that expect rooms to be serviced to a higher level during the day...eg beds made, coffee and tea topped up daily etc. I think this motel is great value for money and recommend it

The bathroom was really nice and spacious, and the place was neat and tidy when I checked in. I loved that there was an electric blanket on the bed. I didn't use it but would be very useful when travelling in the winter.

The bed was a little too soft for me but that's just a personal preference. It was still very comfortable though. I also would've liked a pair of slippers, just because I was travelling light and didn't bring any with me :)

We have stayed at this motel many times and keep going back because it is excellent value, in a great location, and is modern, clean, and comfortable. There is a good pub across the road with great meals. The motel is in a great location if you are continuing your travel north as it has easy access to the Northern Motorway. We will stay there next time we are in Christchurch.

We hjave stayed at Cranford Oak many times and keep going back as it is very good value. The unit we had was well equipped modern and clean. It has a great location and is handy to the northbound SH1. There is a good quality cafe nearby and the Cranford Ale House is just across the road and offers great meals and drinks at a very reasonable price. We will stay here again next time we are in Christchurch.

Comfy and quiet from road noise. Slept really well.

Shower over the bath a real hazard as I have nerve damage in my leg which causes balance issues. Dryer in laundry next to my room was going really late and someone was banging around in there just before midnight. Can hear people upstairs walking around late. I booked really late and at the last minute due to unforseen circumstances so took the room that was offered and was appreciative of that.

Very helpful and friendly host, nice room, huge ensuite, comfortable bed, great location near relatives and shopping centres, 5 minutes drive to city centre, free car parking

All good. The electric hot plate either didn't work or it's complex. The electric fry pan was dirty. But we didn't need to use in the end, just used the microwave instead

The staff service was excellent. Despite my late check-in, special arrangements were made. The room was clean and had everything I needed.

I can't think of anything to be dissatisfied with. Although I only stayed for one night, the arrangements were very thoughtful. At this price, there is nothing to complain about; it exceeded my expectations.

We have stayed at this motel five or six times. We keep going back because it has a great location, it is well appointed clean and comfortable. There is a good pub across the road that has very reasonable meals, a cafe within walking distance and a dairy just around the corner. The host is always welcoming and ensures you have a comfortable stay We will continue to use this motel whenever we are in Christchurch.

The room was good had every thing we needed, parking was available and close to the room, every thing was close by and staff were very helpful. Had a very enjoyable stay and would stay again.
