Absolutely loved the cottages. We had 2 side by side overlooking a beautiful little garden. They were private with no others looking into you. They were equipped with small kitchen space and had all the things you may need to make a quick meal. Carparking was provided onsite with no additional charge. Hosts were friendly and happy to assist in any way. Location is great to CBD and airport. We stayed 2 nights but would have been happy to stay longer and explore Christchurch more. Will definitely be coming back to stay next time I come to NZ.

Only thing is there was nowhere to hang anything. Perhaps a small hanging rail could be considered for the rooms. Otherwise great place to stay.

Having stayed here previously i did not hesitate to book again. Lovely little cottages that have their own little sitting areas outside. Tranquil yet convenient to everything. The hosts are lovely and very friendly and helpful.

Just a suggestion not a complaint to check the runners on the sliding doors particularly the accessible cottage as it is quite heavy and awkward to slide for a frailer person. Understanding there had been some terrible weather the days prior maybe some grit had got stuck in them.

The Deluxe cottages are amazing to stay in and I look forward to my trips to Christchurch to stay in them. They're close enough to town to make getting in there easy, but far enough away that you don't get the hustle and bustle of the CBD. The bed was great to sleep in, the shower was amazing if you like that full pressure spray (so good!). The heat pump in the room worked well and having a nice big TV meant I could easily watch tv while doing work emails on the wifi, which offered good speed. The couple running it were great to deal with and I look forward to staying again soon.

Very comfortable stay, bed so nice, lovely sheets, good pillows. Place very clean. Fantastic location. Our host was lovely and friendly and helpful.

Some of the facilities in the room needed attention, like the stove, which didn’t work, but our host assured us it would be attended to. Also the lighting was not great. Some stronger bulbs would make a huge difference. Apart from that everything else was great.

Room was nice and warm when we arrived, thanks to the amazing and considerate owner. Cottage was comfortable, the enclosed area for our dog was great. Close to some great food places and supermarket. Park nearby for walking the dog. We've stayed before when we travel with our dog, and from now on, Cranford Cottage and Motel will be our number #1 choice.

The motel was close to the city centre and major shopping precincts which made driving super easy. The owners were super friendly and paid close attention to detail and were very welcoming and hospitable. Highly enjoyable stay.

The shower was a little small and the metal base was awkward- i was not used I seeing that design.

Location was great- not far from city and bus stop right outside. The unit was very clean, well equipped, shower good and the bed was very comfortable. Lovely friendly, helpful owners and staff. Very private unit with water feature off the patio, easy parking and although it’s on a busy road it was very quiet.

Servicing of the unit was not as good as expected. I had said not to worry about it for the first couple of days but because I was staying for a week I did expect it to be done after that without me having to ask for fresh towels etc. However, everything was replenished when I asked the cleaner. Lots of leaves covering the patio which could have been swept off.

The photos didn't lie, it was beautiful and peaceful. The bed was very comfortable and the courage was the perfect size for us. We only met the host once who was very friendly. Loved the atmosphere amongst the greenery. Would recommend for a getaway for visitors and even for those who call Christchurch home.

It was too short a stay for us. It's on a busy road and if you're coming in at rush hour, like we did, expect delays. But once we were in we forgot we were on a main road.

The unit was clean and heating on when I arrived on a cold day. Very comfortable and great for my little dog I was travelling with. Lovely owners and nothing a problem

The only thing I would have liked was some hangers to hang my good clothes on as no wardrobe and just hooks.

The very private setting that the cottage offered made for a relaxing time. I especially enjoyed having a morning coffee on the covered deck. The room with queen bed, sofa and full kitchen just offers options for eating in and not having to rush off to get a kick-start coffee. Very clean and cosy.

There is a bit of traffic noise near this cottage so maybe ask for one over if you need to.
