We loved the fact it had a spabath washing machine and dryer and we were able to extend on a daily basis as we didn't know how long we would be in Christchurch the rooms were extremely clean and the staff were amazing very helpful and they had a great sense of humour one of the best places we have stayed in the 5 years we have been traveling for work can't wait to stay there again either for work or a holiday highly recommend if ur going to be staying in Christchurch we could not fault anything that's how amazing this place is

There was nothing we didn't like

Ok, Nice and comfortable enough Motel, near bus stops and supermarket and other services. Some furniture is a bit out dated, otherwise rooms are nice enough. Would need some maintenance like change of broken lightbalbs etc. Not a single hanger for clothes in the room. Noisy fan in bathroom which turns on with the lights, was something that did not like. Cleaning schedules would need provement as they only clean the rooms early in the morning

It was located on a nice quiet street and there was plenty of privacy. Shower pressure was awesome room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable as and extremely large.the owners were extremely helpful. Going to use this place as my regular motel whenever I goto Christchurch. Highly recommend staying there as ther a shopping center 2 minutes walking. Also there is a awesome bar/restaurant (BAILEY'S) just across the road who do extremely nice meals.

Can't pick anything wrong with the place.

* Very comfortable room. * There was a washer and dryer * Had a problem with the heat pump, but this got sorted out by the owner very promptly. * The staff were lovely and very obliging. 👍💛

*There were some things which needed maintenance....eg bathroom wall tiles broken. *The bathroom fan made a hell of a noise...this happened every time the light was switched on...in the end, I just used the kitchen light! I'm sure they will be fixed in due course. *Lack of storage in the bathroom. *Parking was very tight...you had to back in off a very busy road. The spaces should have #s corresponding to each unit, rather than hoping there would be a space somewhere. (It may seem that the motel was average, but it wasn't....just some things need addressing promptly.)

The manager Barry! He was really helpful to us - booking a cab for us, keeping us supplied with tea bags and providing lots of useful local advice. Room was spacious, with a balcony, and had good cooking facilities as well as free Sky Sports!

We did know in advance that it is a 30-minute straight walk into the city centre. Rooms felt a bit worn but were comfortable.

John accommodated us earlier than the check in time. Very easy to deal with. Thanks John. We booked a standard studio but got an upgrade with spa bath. The place was clean, everything needed is provided (milk for tea, laundry powder, dishwashing soap, cooking utensils). Close to gas station and shops.

It ticks all the boxes for a home away from home plus plus!! ✅free parking ✅kitchen which is good when you do your own food ✅washing machine and dryer, helped us not to take home all our laundry ✅heated floor ✅hair dryer ✅electric blanket ✅spacious ✅lovely people ✅accessible to BP, fresh choice, some restaurants ✅balcony ✅Neat and quiet ✅towels replaced everyday

Maybe need an upgrade with pillows

After a long flight we were relieved to get to Azena and we received a lovely, warm welcome which included a brief explanation of local shops and restaurants 🙏. We had chosen Azena primarily because rooms had a washing machine and after 3 weeks on the road it was needed! With temperatures of 33 degrees in Christchurch the air con in our spacious room worked a treat. The shower was great as were the WiFi and Sky TV channels. The kitchenette came with everything we needed to cook some simple meals and the bed was really comfy. We'd happily go back again.

We were relieved to get parking, there didn't seem to be enough space for the number of rooms, but I could be wrong on that. It could have been a little cleaner, those darn spiders had left a few cobwebs above the bed

Very nice motel. A bonus to have a washer and dryer in the unit, that I took advantage of. Washing powder was also supplied. Each guest was given a hand towel, which is a nice touch. On a very busy road, we were down the back and did not have any road noise.

Everything met our needs

Barry was very helpful. Close to grocery and other food. Close to bus for direct line into city centre. Washer and dryer worked well. Nice touch with towel warmer.

Road noise, but definitely quiet later at night. Pillows were too big.
