We booked a double studio in the lodge and room was well appointed for a lodge room - It was tidy, warm, bed was large and comfortable, tea and coffee with kettle / fridge, tv provided. Room was made up each day by service. Shared facilities were good, bathroom was kept clean and kitchen was well appointed. Everything we needed for a short stay. Adjacent restaurant was available for all meals and they were very good - large meals so be prepared. Staff were excellent and accommodated our group well. Bealey Quarter was very handy and a short walk to town. Would stay again if in Christchurch

Comfy bed and private bathroom, hot showers were nice.. We stayed in The Lodge, which had shared facilities. The communal kitchen came in handy when I needed some bowls & cutlery. I should of booked the garden studio for a bit more privacy. We ordered room service from the on-site restaurant. Big portions for the amount paid i could not finish and food was delicious. Breakfast buffet was also a bonus, very nice but you choose from either continental cereals, fruit & toast or hot farmers brekky. They have a menu if you are after something else. Staff were very polite and friendly.

You could hear the noise and snoring through the walls. Could do with a new iron and ironing board in the laundry room, from overuse and leaking water. Other guests not tidying up after themselves in the communal kitchen. No allocated carpark space, first in first serve, street parking is available.

Very clean and new hostel. Out of the city centre but the 44 bus stop is right there every 30 mins, recommend getting the metro card at the bus interchange. Towels were changed daily when I hung them from the bed, showers were separate to the room and were very clean. Large kitchen and fridges in rooms rather than in there. Pub next door with discount. The bedspaces each have a shelf with charging block and light. Large lockers next to bed.

Not many washing machines, rooms are narrow. No curtains on beds and the bunks are metal framed and wobble when you move. Could be better if they were fixed to the wall with dividers for privacy. The distance to city centre wasn't ideal but the bus was frequent and on time. You have to pay cash for the bus if you don't have a metrocard.

Staff were nice and we had breakfast included which was a huge bonus. Some buy one get one free vouchers for their bar next door too. There’s some nice common areas including outdoor seating. A good 15-20 minute walk into town which we enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay barring the room temperature. Cleaners came and changed our towels each day.

Room was different to the pictures and wooden walls throughout. It made our room like a sauna so the fan was needed all day. As our building was also a hostel, there was plates etc. left about which was annoying and unhygienic seeing them for over a day - staff should have probably be cleaned.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, which was a big plus. Having a fridge and lockers in the room was super convenient for keeping my things organized. The location is also ideal: just a 20-minute walk to the city, with a bar next door that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The vibe was fantastic, with lots of backpackers, making it easy to connect with others.

On the downside, the beds could be more comfortable, and there’s no real common area like a big table to sit down or play games. But overall, it’s a great option for travelers looking for affordable and friendly accommodation.

Location very handy to hospital where partner had surgery. Room was well appointed, lovely large bed. Loved the balcony room and the ability to open the slider for fresh air. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Reception staff lovely.

Quite a bit of dust accumulates after aircon has been on, maybe filters need changing or washing, I'd wipe the bedside table and within a few hours the dust had reaccumulated. Also a bit of dust on the crockery/cutlery and the tray they sit on, I suspect from the aircon as well. The room was very clean apart from the aircon dust.

Being greeted by friendly face as it was first trip to Christchurch & with no prior knowledge of the city location etc & it warm warm welcome.

No biggie but staying in the shared facilities water (toilets showers kitchen) I found the the signage for 'Male/Female' bathrooms weren't adequately visible unless you knew this, as newbie I walked into a male facility then only realizing when seeing the urinary for male lol & wondered looking very hard at signage which was hard to spot & if you're desperate .. maybe lager coloured gender signs could help.

My room was clean. I had a single room with ensuite bathroom.

Even though I had a single room with ensuite bathroom, there was no hair dryer in my room. I communicated it with the reception and they found me one. My second night i was locked out of the premises cause the receptionist when I did the check-in activated my key card for one night... There is an emergency number out of the reception door, and someone came in the middle of the night (as the reception closes at 23.00) to give me access again. The problem was solved but it was an unpleasant situation.

This was really very nice for the price, I was very impressed! I liked how there was a functioning restaurant on the premises, we had a beautiful breakfast there after check out. Definitely coming back to stay here and really want to do dinner at the restaurant as well the menu is so scrumptious!

I didn't like how when we paid for the meal at the restaurant, they had forgotten i stayed at the Bealey Quarter and didn't give me the discount. Also a spa/sauna would've been a good facility to offer if there's nothing already available in close proximity.

I really liked the facilities, good ventilation because there are so many people in one room, good ventilation is better. The kitchen is well equipped for those of us who are passing through, the bathrooms are clean and they have a hair dryer, which is good. The bed linen is clean, they provide towels, which is also a plus, and they have a drinks vending machine. Good location, you can walk to the center. Well WiFi

I didn't like that the beds make a lot of noise, they need to put oil on them because if you move your foot it makes too much noise, the refrigerator in the room was dirty,
