We had an amazing 3-night stay at Centre Point on Colombo Motel! The location was perfect—right in the heart of Christchurch, making it easy to get around. Our room was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy, and little touches like the toiletries and plenty of tea and coffee made it feel extra welcoming. The staff were fantastic—so friendly and helpful. They gave us great tips on places to visit and made sure we had everything we needed. Even though it’s in the city, the motel was surprisingly quiet, and having secure parking was really handy. Overall, it was a great experience. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Christchurch and would love to stay here again!

The location was perfect—central, quiet, and very convenient for exploring Christchurch. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with thoughtful touches like a cozy couch, quality linen, and a handy kitchenette. The staff were welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Parking was easy, and we felt safe and well looked after. Great value for money!

There was honestly nothing fault!

Clean and spacious unit on a ground floor with king bed. Had everything we needed for our two nights stay. No hot plate to cook for those we want to cook other than the standard microwave and fridge. Love the comfy recliner chairs to watch TV. About 10 to 15 mins walk to city centre. Very convenient as there are plenty to see and do without the hassle of finding car parking. Parking is available at motel. Please make sure your booking includes free parking. Save it for proof. If not you will be asked to pay $10. The owner is nice and helpful.

Great location, clean rooms and very friendly staff. There was a fire nearby in an adjacent street, and we could all go and watch the drama unfold. The Linden trees (a number of Tilia species are represented) on the lawn behind the Town Hall were in full bloom. We foraged their fragrant flowers to use as a herbal tea in the colder months. So yes, we had a brilliant time just a hop & skip away from our motel.

I wish there was a way to find out if the booked room had many stairs to contend with or not. My 92 year old mum finds it difficult to go up stairs, and the unit we were assigned had one set of stairs just to reach it, PLUS another set of stairs to get to the bedroom. I might make my booking next time directly with the motel staff, so I can ask the necessary questions before proceeding.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful, and the location was perfect within easy walking distance to the centre of town. The room was comfortable and spacious. There was only a thin long window in our corner room but that was fine for us. The shower was good. We also used the laundry on the ground floor, $4 for the washing machine and $2 to buy a washing powder sachet from reception.

Overall I was happy and would stay again. Some small details I didn't like: the bed was a little uncomfortable as I could feel the springs and would have been improved with a mattress topper, but it was still fine as is. The room also had a slight unpleasant smell which might have been from cleaning products? We aired out the room but it lingered in the bathroom.

This property has ranging reviews however our experience was sensational. The host is super friendly and helpful. The room is described as compact but it isn’t. Walking distance to CBD. Great bed and pillows, everything you need - and very clean and comfortable. There are even lounge type chairs for watching TV.

Not dislikes but they do charge for parking even though there is a park for each room. In saying that they only charge a flat fee of $10, which is very minor if you are getting a good deal on your room cost and saving on parking fees.

Clean property and well maintained. If you need something done just talk to John at Reception and he will organize things without delay. Closer walk to city area with cafes, restaurants and pubs. And all the attractions including tram stop to get around the city. Would like to highlight how John helped with all the little things like last minute organizing my airport shuttle, giving me coins to pay for the bus just in case bus driver didn't have any, organizing a quick make up of my room as I missed it due to sleep in. Amazing customer service and very attentive to needs of people living away from home and new to the locality.

Lovely warm room with a kitchenette. They even have electric blankets. The owners are very friendly, especially the lovely lady from Fiji who cleaned our room. Location is just a 10 minute walk from the Center. I highly recommend this motel 10/10 from me❤️

Nothing not to like about the property..even they can’t control the weather and it did rain😞 I have no negative thoughts on the accommodation and I’d definitely stay there again ❤️

Location near to restraunts, theaters within walking distance, but quiet room

For some reason we had to pay $10 extra to park our vehicle at motel car park which we thought strange. Also when I booked accommodation through booking.com it cost me $302 for 2 nights, on checking the accommodation own website a few days before we arrived it was only $218 so a lot cheaper. Next time I will check.their website first before booking via booking.com

The motel was easy to get to and easy to access. Check-in was seamless and organised as was check out. The people running reception were so friendly. My room was upgraded and upon walking in I was met with a lovely fresh floral scent. The room had been aired out and was extremely clean. The room was spacious with seating, desks, a wardrobe, and drawers. Shower was great. I just cannot fault my stay; its one of the nicest places I've stayed.
