This motel was absolutely spotless and perfectly located - just a short walk to lovely cafes and restaurants. The private parking courtyard was super convenient. But what really made our stay extraordinary was the host's exceptional kindness. When we had a minor car accident in Christchurch, they became our guardian angel - patiently guiding us through everything, offering warm support, and even driving us to the hospital and back. Their compassion turned a stressful situation into a bearable one. We can't thank them enough for their generosity. Highly recommend this wonderful accommodation!"

The proximity to the city center was great. The unit I stayed in was very clean, exceptionally warm with good, thick curtains in the bedroom and lounge area. The bed was soooo comfy, complete with an electric blanket, comfy pillows, and the lighting in the bedroom was great which meant I could read. Bathroom and kitchen facilities were great too- completely spotless and the provided coffee, tea and sugar was much appreciated. The provided towels were lovely and plush and it was fantastic that everything I needed was provided including a hair dryer, a luggage rack, towels, an extra blanket and soap and toiletries. I highly recommend staying here. It's clean and well run; I found it quiet enough to get a good night's sleep and thought it was great value for money!

Lovely clean apartment room, beautifully renovated bathroom with huge spa bathtub. Room was back from the road so didn't hear a lot of road noise the area is known for. Felt safe and secure. Easy check in and check out process, amazingly helpful and attentive staff - came with to room to turn on the heaters and show how tv and bath etc work. Housekeeping service each day if you want it. Will definitely stay here again.

The staff were absolutely amazing so helpful and friendly. Very accommodating for our family with young kids. They gave us a bowl of fresh fruit which my daughter was so excited about. When we decided to extend our stay they gave us a great deal and although we had to change rooms we were still very happy with where they put us. The proposal within walking distance to many places including the Margaret Mahy playground which was a hit for the kids. Also walking distance to lots of places to eat. Walking distance to the casino.

Honestly nothing to fult

The onsite parking was immediately outside the rooms and the spaces were generously wide. The room (#2) was well equipped overall and very comfortable. The microwave was very good and I'd like to find out the brand (which I didn't see on the actual unit) and get the same model for home. The woman staffing the desk - Iris, was exceptionally helpful. I had requested a ground floor room, justifying the request by noting I'd come of a total knee replacement in the past few months. Based on that information, she generously offered help with the bags and getting me settled in. This was my first time at Salerno Motel Apartments but certainly will not be my last as I live in NZ and go to Christchurch from time to time.

Not a big deal for me as I am a hot tea drinker but there were no glasses provided in the room, only ceramic cups. That was likely a one off housekeeping oversight as there were plates, cutlery, and all other basics.

The owners were super lovely from the time we arrived, they showed us to our room with complementary fruits then gave us a run down on how things worked, very awesome beautiful people and clean comfortable tidy rooms, the location of the motel is perfect which made our stay extra nice, would definitely be back to stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone that’s needing accommodation close to the city.

Nothing it was very nice

Great location. Fabulous helpful friendly staff. No laundry facilities in the room but they did it for me at a very reasonable cost and because they have commercial machines I could combine two loads into one. Loved the spa bath, TV with all the streaming platforms and strong Wi-Fi. Easy accessible parking.

I would have liked the kitchen to be a bit better equipped- really can only use it for making tea or reheating things not trying to cook anything.

Salerno is our go-to for the 5 of us when we come up to Chch. We get the two bedroom apartment as everyone has a bed. There is loads of space for us to spread out, two bathrooms, a full kitchen. The staff are always so helpful and kind. Years ago upon checking in on a really hot day, the kids were given an ice block! The rooms are always super clean.

The only downside is the street noise, in particular, ambulance sirens.

They had Netflix and I do not usually watch them, but I wanted to see one of the series so, it was nice. Most of the Hotel have TV but not connected these pay views...

The enterance of the Hotel is very difficult to find when driving and passed the entrance. If you miss the enterance, then you have to go around again but it is very busy road so that it is troublesome to go back again....it is my mistake but if the road is more quiet road, it could be much better but this is something we could not complain....

We have stayed at this accommodation before and chose to book here again due to the good experience we had previously, we had room 9 again and it was just as we remembered. Super happy with the stay, clean, comfortable, friendly reception, good selection of tea, coffee etc… washing machine in our room included complementary washing powder. Ordering door dash was super easy for the dashers.
