Great hotel! Hotel was more like a business hotel so it didn’t have a kitchenette in the room. It had the basic coffee, tea and kettle but no microwave. Room did have an iron and ironing board and there were laundry machines and dryers on the 1st and 3rd floors. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion also smelled so nice. Staff were also friendly and accommodating - they gave me a welcome brownie as is customary in NZ (although they were the first hotel to do so during my stay). They also kept my luggage after check-out so I can do some sightseeing before I left. Also, check out if there are any offers at the Hoi Polloi, there was a steak night during my stay and the steak was cheaper than usual.

Hotel wasn’t in the central area but that’s okay considering value for money of the hotel. It was quite accessible since there were multiple bus stops nearby.

We actually stayed on longer, for 5 nights in total. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean. My towels were changed daily. I will stay there again and soon. However, the same crumbs were evident on the floor and bathroom for several days, meaning there was no vacuuming completed. For the duration of the stay sheets were not changed yet I understand it is to be done every 3rd day. On the last day cups were not cleaned and prep surfaces not wiped down. I passed on the above to reception upon departing and had hoped a wee email acknowledging would have popped up in my email. . Its only because of that lack of that courtesy, I call the hotel out here. I'm sure they will be onto it straight away.

Rooms were clean and tidy. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Location is ok, not central city but not too far to walk. It was good value for money.

Housekeeping missed our room one day (we were heading out when they were doing rooms on our floor and we had removed the do not disturb sign, but it was not serviced). Reception organised replacement towels for us though when we returned and notified them. On another day there was no body wash in the dispenser in the shower, but this was fixed by reception. Also the beds were a little short compared to other hotels we stayed at, so not as comfortable as they could be.

It delivers on every level for a mid-range hotel. The rooms are clean and functional. The bed, the pillows and the linen are all fresh and new. The a-c is great. Even the shower has plenty of room and with a little more pressure would be amazing. The location is on the fringe of central and very walkable to may good restaurants, bars and tourist sites. As someone who essentially lives in hotels and has done for 12 years, this place meets all your basic needs except for 1 large glaring issue that will stop me staying in the future.

The one large, terrible, woeful, glaring issue with this hotel is the 10.00am check-out time. Bloody ridiculous in this day and age to expect Guests to be out and about by 10.00am. At minimum it should be 11.00, at best, 12 noon. Catch-up Carnmore, the rest of the world ( except sleepy backwaters like NZ and Australia smaller towns ) Globally it's a 12 noon check-out and so should you. I will be coming in and out of Christchurch a lot over the next 12 months but unfortunately will have to stay elsewhere due to the ludicrous, early check-out time. Nuts people. It's a real shame because otherwise I love the hotel. I stayed a week this time, spent over 4 figures and they still insisted I leave at 10.00.

Good location to city and staff were friendly. Staff in restaurant and bar were super cool and friendly! When it’s comes to a busy night manager needs to keep a cool head on and ensure his customers are relaxed and looked after. Xmas dinner seemed hectic and funny enough didn’t get bread for a start. Food was rushed. Xmas dinner need to be more relaxed and fun! Staff need to be more involved as a lot of customers are away from their family and some of them do not know know the customs of Xmas especially Japanese and German. Fun and laughter not stress and chaos! That’s what I learned! You have great service but need to relax and more socialable! I will definitely come again. Sam was and the girls in the restaurant were accommodating and social. They were a laugh and made relax. I think the manager needs to relax too and make the staff feel stressed.

The bar area needs more relaxing chairs as they seem high off the ground. The artwork is outdated and not aspirational.

Location was great as we parked up and walked everywhere. Although parking on-site did cost $50 for the two nights it did provide us with peace of mind. Room was spacious and clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower was excellent, the water pressure and temperature was perfect. We were able to enjoy long hot showers without the water going cold like we've experienced elsewhere. The staff were very friendly from the front desk to housekeeping. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good. We'd definitely stay there again.

The pillows were to hard and high for me.

The environment meets my exception, which looks the same, just like the photos. Clean and tidy. Water in the shower room was strong and stable. This hotel provides the front desk service until 24:00, which is quite convenient for tourists who want to explore more about the city. Furthermore, the staff at the front desk and the restaurant are all quite nice and helpful. Especially thanks to James, the staff at the restaurant is super nice. I had my own food, which was a leftover from dinner last night. He helped put them out in one plate and microwaved it without any hesitation. That prevented a waste and also provided us with a wonderful breakfast. Very enjoy the stay and must recommend friends to stay.

Comfortable and relaxing. Convenient location to the city. Bedroom was modern and well presented.

Thought breakfast was a little too extensive as I only have a small breakfast. Bowl of cereal, two pieces of toast and a couple of tea on first day. A bowl of cereal and a cup of tea for second day. Take pastry for morning tea to make up for what I pay for! Thought the reception staff were at times not accommodating to my needs. Pay for my breakfast or dinner when the registering of catering has not come through the system. Due to my dealing with Booking.com they could not assist me with my enquiry. Was a little disappointed.

On arrival ready for us, didn’t need to show my booking just gave my name.. parking - always plenty outside or along the street. I like that I don’t have to pay for parking, although there are a limited amount available, I am fine with parking directly outside the Hotel. Daughter went down stairs to get some ice for a drink, they gave us an ice bucket full of ice to take to the room. Very accommodating, super friendly and this is the second time I have stayed here in a matter of months. Wall to a first table was only five mins walk to the Crowne Plaza. Easy walk to town and other bars!! love it at the Carnmore.

Nothing, every staff member smiled and greeted you in whatever their role.

The meals were very good, fresh and appalling, Buffet breakfast kept us going all day. Beds were very comfortable room size adequate for our needs and quite. Staff member Mercy was very helpful even when she was very busy. When the power points in our room were found to be not working she immediately suggested moving to another room. We really appreciated her quick response and her caring and friendly manner. We found all the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was walking distance to the city Great location. Thank you for a great stay.
