Very friendly and a warm welcome. The reception area has a cosy relaxed feel about it. Intimate and not at all corporate. Plenty of parking. Our junior suite had a sofa and 2 comfortable chairs and a table and chairs. Good selection of teas and coffees. Clean. Lots of space for suitcases. We had dinner on one night which we really enjoyed and went back for dessert on another evening having had a main course elsewhere. Also delicious. Staff also gave us ideas on places to visit which proved to be helpful. Very close to Botanical Gardens and a short walk into main shopping area.

It was difficult to sleep in the middle of the bed. Two single beds joined to make a king meant the joins in the middle were uncomfortable. Also noticed that the cleaners did not wipe the dining table surface with each clean or replenish the tea and hot chocolate sachets. A suggestion to help those not from the city, provide a map to the carpark or the correct address on Kilmore for those checking in from the Montreal side. We went around in circles based on the vague verbal instructions given at reception.

Junior suite (×2) $242 per day Check-in 1400, Check-out 1100 We had a perfect 5 day stay at Hotel Montreal Christchurch. Initially, there was an issue with performing our own laundry as per TripAdvisor. The hotel manager was very responsive and took full accountability for the TripAdvisor hotel amenity description. The hotel is very well appointed and located centrally within the Christchurch cbd. Very well-appointed bar, lovely restaurant, very comfortable and spacious suites, great staff and professional management. The bathroom was spacious and very well laid out. The kitchen area, albiet small, was functional and well appointed. The lounge area was huge and very comfortable. The single television had to be swung around to be viewed from the bed or lounge. Channels were limited to free to air with casting of our Australian tv channel apps not available due to geoblocking restrictions. Overall, we had an awesome stay with Hotel Montreal Christchurch, we would definitely stay here again when being back in Christchurch.

The king bed (two king singles) was very comfortable separately, but not so great when slept on side-on.

I don’t publish reviews because we all have differing tastes. However this is an exception! This family owned and operated hotel ticked all our boxes. Yes, the facilities are excellent but the cheerfulness and helpfulness of the people who looked after us was outstanding and speaks of excellent relationships between the owners and staff and especially their commitment to make their guests comfortable and happy.

There was nothing to dislike! Of course it is an hotel not one’s own home but everything we needed was more than adequately provided

For breakfastI had the fruit platter with yogurt and honey - it was delicious. Just a little on the large side for me. I also had dinner one night - Caesar salad and sweet potato fries - again delicious but on the large side. Also wine (Chardonnay) was excellent as recommended by the wait staff. The restaurant is much better than compared to my last stay,

There was nothing I didn't like however a self service laundry would make the hotel perfect.

Great location. I can walk to the Hagley Park and the Riverside Market easily. The view is lovely. Lovely staff, all the receptions and waitress are kind and helpful. The ground floor has a really cozy atmosphere to enjoy a cup of tea and dinner. Food is great.

The floor under the bed was uncleaned. There are spider webs on the tables and chairs outside. The cleaner went straight into my room without permission.

Our room was perfect. Very spacious with great amenities. The heated bathroom tiles, wall-mounted tv and extra wide and very comfortable bed were all great touches. Definitely recommend this place for a Christchurch visit.

Was woken up at 6:30 in the morning on a Sunday to be informed daylight savings had kicked in for New Zealand. Though nice to know, it did wake us up. The hotel apologised for this though and noted they are reviewing these processes for the future.

Loved the location on edge of Cranmer Square - gave pleasant outlook from rooms on the courtyard side. Is only a 5-10 min walk to town centre and much closer to Hagley Park and the Arts Centre. Room was spacious and balcony was a delight. In-house Polo bar and restaurant had delicious food. Complementary arrival drink and e-bike hire was wonderful. Would definitely recommend.

We did get some noise from the Polo bar below and from the people outside (from 6.30 up till about 10 pm). If you are a light sleeper,or very noise-sensitive you might want to go for an upper storey ( we were on level 1) or the other end/side of the building. However, the suites above the bar and on the courtyard side/end have the nicest views, so it is a trade-off!

Loved the interior of our room, appreciated the thoughtful colour palette and furniture choices. It made for a very cozy stay. Great hotel for visiting the city. Easy walk to the Art Gallery and Saturday markets. We ate at the restaurant the first night and had room service the second, both times the food was delicious. All the staff were very helpful and upbeat. We'll have to stay longer next time!

Lovely boutique hotel which offers personalised service. We got upgraded to a junior suite which was an additional bonus. The bed was extremely comfortable giving a perfect nights sleep - the No1 priority in our book. The staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel offers onsite car parking and is well positioned, close to the centre of the city and its many facilities. Great place to stay.

We would have preferred more hanging space for clothing and the wardrobe system wasn’t able to accommodate our suitcases, as designed. Small point, but annoying to have suitcases littering the available floor space. Apart from that, all was perfect.
