On arrival I was very pleased a friendly young lady offered to carry my heavy bag to my room on the first floor. The room was well-equipped with condiments, towels, pillows and so on.

On checkout, I asked if I could have some help in bringing down my heavy bag from the first floor. I had arranged for that on check-in. The reception attendant on duty at that time was very short with me - there was no smile and I felt I shouldn't have asked because it was inconvenient and a bother to find someone. I asked one of the cleaning team in the end and the man was very kind to assist.

Greeted by a friendly staff member on arrival. Off-street parking was provided. Very comfortable, clean, and roomy studio with lovely view into private courtyard and beyond. Plenty of bench space and room for putting things away. No air conditioning, so slept with windows open. This wasn't a problem as the street area is mostly quiet and the fridge is exceptionally quiet, too. Didn't need to use earplugs. Although there is a large mirror in the bathroom, a full-length mirror could perhaps be useful on a spare wall. I needed scissors and was delighted to find some provided. A lovely staff member helped carry my bags to my car. A great stay... I will return!

Loved the hotel, it was close to.the beach, lots of running and biking options around as well as cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The room was large and tidy with enough stuff to make breakfast or heat some takeaway. The staff were friendly and nice and plenty of parking..

My only quib was that there was no heat pump / AC in the room. I would have expected that in a place like this. There were nights when it got really warm and I would have slept better if I could cool the room down. There was a fan and a heater provided but a heat pump is pretty much standard these days even in cheap hotels, so not sure why this one doesn't have them.

The staff were very welcoming 🙏. The room was very clean, The location was perfect, close for activities and yet not noisy when it was bedtime. The beds were supercomfy, and the linen was crisp and clean. They have on-site parking and overall one of the best places we have stayed. In comparison to the motels in Sydney and Perth that we have stayed at, this is definitely the best so far, and the price was definitely great value for money. I already told everyone in my family and we will be booking our next stay there again when we go back to Nelson. Thanks to the team at THE BEACHCOMBER for an awesome hassle free stay. 😁

The room was cozy and comfortable and catered to our needs for a one night stay. The heater was in well working order and warmed up the room nicely. Shower water pressure was brilliant and has all the bathroom necessities you need.

The sink hole in the bathroom basin needs drain-o or bleach to dissolve the brown silt sitting in hindsight. The walls in the bathroom were dirty and obvious mold in the shower that could've done with some jif and a brush. Some of the cutlery were dirty from last guests? And had some rust. Other than that, it was still an overall great stay.

Location was perfect, we were in the centre of where we needed to be. 5min drive from the airport, the Popular Tahunanui Beach within walking distance. Surrounded by Bars & Eatery places. Plenty of parking spaces, our room was the perfect size for us. Coffee & Tea - Bathroom toiletries provided. Place was clean & tidy. Love the shower pressure, the Pool was a bonus, the kids loved it. Continental Breakfast every morning. Oohh Bonus espresso Machine. absolutely enjoyed our stay, amazing hospitality from the team at Beachcomber Hotel. Especially Alana & Lisa. top star lovely ladies deserve a pay rise. you guys have a positive attitude towards customers service, a great sense of humour with Friendly service. Value for money, Thank you for your hospitality. Will definitely be back - definitely recommend this place based on the service provided by all the workers. Goes to show you how they care for their customers

Comfortable room, All the facilities we needed. Staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Having Sky was great! Close to eateries and walking tracks

Not, "didn't like," but thoughts for improvement for comfort - Would have liked a side table beside the bed on the window side. Tiles in the kitchen very greasy, hadn't been cleaned properly previously. Large mirror behind the tv could have been reduced and tv put on the wall, to allow for extra storage space.

I booked the room with the sauna with optimism that I would get back into yoga in our holiday - however, I didn't get as far to use it. Regardless of this, the Beachcomber was an absolutely excellent choice. Not only was it in a prime location, with the bus route junction, beach and zoo at our doorstep, but the room and spa was excellent. The cleaners I came across on my route to the laundry room were as warm and friendly as the reception staff. I also very much appreciated that the amenities of bathroom products and milk were provided in single, large sustainable options. What was undersold before our trip was the gardens - the courtyard was beautiful. Also shout out to the shower pressure, which felt like a free massage. All in all we will absolutely be staying at the Beachcomber directly any time we visit Nelson.

The only fault I could ever push to think of was not knowing how long the washing machine cycle would take - trivial, when compared to everything else that was absolutely astounding.

Nice accommodation, facilities good. Only few minutes walk to the beach. Free laundry was great. Only downsides we found was the bathroom was very dated compared to relatively newly renovated room. Also there was a parking space outside our room for us which we never could use as 3 different cars were parked there at various times which was annoying for carrying our heavy bags to and from the car, it wasn’t a big deal as there was lots of spaces in the main car park.

Awesome bed. Good sized room for a studio room, and small separate kitchenette. Spotlessly clean. This is an older style motel block which I am guessing was top of the range when it was built, and while now a bit dated, is still very functional. Great location, minutes from the beach, and close to a range of eateries.

The bathroom was narrow and a bit awkward, but the water pressure in the shower was awesome :-)
