We loved everything about our short stay at Kinross. It's outside queenstown, which is amazing - we came in the off peak season and it is CHAOTIC. The wine tasting was incredible, Charles gave us an excellent explanation of the local wines we tried, and they were all very nice. The food was also amazing, very well priced and we got to look across at the mountains while we ate. Finally, the room, supremely comfortable and quiet. Soft bed, lovely bathroom, and of course, more wine in the room to purchase at very good prices!
Nothing.

Nice clean and tidy well presented cottage. Good facilities . Excellent wine tasting experience. Good area to walk around to view magnificent views and take magic photographs of scenery. Bonus hot tub to relax in and very handy to cottage we stayed in (Pisa 1).
on check out left premises about 9.45 am and office not yet open, so let key in lock box , but unable to check and verify account before leaving so will have to chase up a receipt. Also not able to advise staff of a minor issue re bedding arrangements, had requested single beds, but found large king size bed.

Love the experience staying at a winery. So many wild rabbits played at our backyard! We had a great walk around the winery, there was a lovely little lake and hot tub facility. Kitchen was well equipped for simple meals. Free wine tasting was added bonus
There was no food services after 530pm and no food delivery available either. Wished we knew beforehand so we could be prepared. Luckily we had some food with us. One of the connecting door didn't work. Overall stay was memorable!

We spent two nights here and loved it. The B&B cottages are distributed across the grounds at the Kinross Vineyard, with delightful views across the vines and valley to the mountains beyond. it's an extremely attractive and restful setting. We were about 80 yards from the bistro for breakfast. The cottages have lovely verandahs for sitting out and also provide picnic rugs for use on the lawns. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, beautifully presented and serviced daily. The capacious shower was excellent. The bed was so comfortable that the first night I slept for an unbroken 8 hours, most unusual at my age. The complementary tutored wine tasting is outstanding, covering a range of first class wines, including the internationally renowned Valli Gibbston and the Wild Irishman (4 times winners of the world Pinot Noir ranking) The greatest strength of Kinross is the staff - young, cheerful, infectiously enthusiastic, and in the case of those promoting the wines (Caera and Clio), professional, knowledgeable and utterly charming.
It's a pity that the bistro closes so early in the evening, closing at 1630, which drives you off-site for supper.

The Kinross Hotel was located perfectly within the wine region of Gibbston valley - giving you equal access to the many wineries surrounding it (as well, of course, to the one on their property. The grounds were beautiful: plenty of spaces to relax outside - on picnic tables, bean bags, etc. - room to explore the grounds that were replete with bunnies, ducks, and other birds. Their dinner (which you need to book ahead of time - by 4:30!) was delicious with a bottle of their wine (which you need to purchase from your room!). The room was very spacious, if a bit sparsely furnished (especially the bathroom). Overall, definitely recommend though!
The breakfast was not worth the extra price - the buffet was a bit sparse for the cost ($20/pp). The property is right by the road, so you can hear passing cars on the highway (not super loud, but audible). The hot tub, which we paid extra for, was not hot. We tried adding extra water as they instructed, but it didn’t really make an impact.

This property was secluded yet accessible. Had a good amount of amenities and well located. The swings, hot tub, bocce set, restaurant, picnic areas and cellar door meant that there was so much to do on site. Loved our say here as a couple.
The staff were a bit hard to deal with due to the language barrier.

Classy place to stay, unique experience with lots of facilities, very pleasant staff. High quality accommodation about 30min drive into Queenstown. Beautiful location. Stunning.
We both booked Kinross, for the facility of the restaurant and bar, to chill out after busy days sightseeing, and felt let down by the early closing time of 5:30pm. Too early for us to enjoy

Very airy cottages with lots of light. Breakfast tray was well done, guest wine tasting was enjoyable
Head banging music from the bistro DJ on Sat evening. It was going from when we arrived at 3:30 until 7:40 when we left for dinner. Used noise cancelling headphones in my room and could still hear the “beats.” You hear the music throughout the property. The bistro closed at 6pm but the music played on and on.

Liked · Location was beautiful! The European buffet breakfast was great, small selection but very flavourful! Staff and other guest were pleasant. Wine tasting is a must do and the hot tub was great on a clear night, lots of nature about.
Disliked · The rooms are not very sound proof, they are 2 separate rooms joined in the middle, but also had an internal access door, assuming for if someone needed both rooms. The door has quite a big gab under it and we could hear our neighbouring guest a little too clearly.

Wow!! I visited Kinross with my husband on our honeymoon, and every part of the experience was incredible. From the beautifully architectural design, to the extremely comfy beds, to the delicious wine and food, and very friendly staff, our experience could not have been better! 10/10! Highly recommend staying at The Cottages at Kinross!
