Great stay overall at the parkside motel. Staff were very friendly. All the amenities in your room you would expect. Kitchenette had two smallish glass hobs, a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, cookware, cooking utensils (chopping board and knife), plates, cups and cutlery etc. Water from the tap tasted good as wemm. The bathroom had great shower pressure, a heater towel rails and fan. The pool is a nice addition as well. Our kids really enjoyed a dip in there. The motel is located close to the Richmond mall which is handy for supermarket shopping. We got pool toys from the kmart there. There is also a good carpark.

The motel is located on a busy street. I dont think the windows are double glazed so you can hear street noise. If you're a light sleeper you'll notice this.

We thought the room and general property was fabulous. The hosts were great, and were helpful at every turn - from checking room configuration in advance, to answering queries etc. The room we had was lovely, and the beds were super comfy! We utilised the laundry which was great too. The property is right on a main road - so easy to get around the area.

We thought it might be nice to use the heated pool - but it was only heated in summer. Not a deal breaker, but would have been nice!

Brian the manger made us feel welcome when we arrived and upgraded us to an executive at no extra charge, thank you so much. We enjoyed having a relaxing swim in the pool after traveling around all day. The room was very nice inside, comfortable bed, large walk-in shower, and with everything we needed to cook our dinner. Plenty of parking onsite and we were able to do a load of washing as well.

Very friendly and helpful staff member who showed us how to use the laundry facilities (price was very reasonable too). The pool area is lovely, our apartment was spacious and very clean. We especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony, in the sun and watching the planes fly overhead.

Only a minor thing, but the motel is on a very busy main road and it always took us a while to get out of the driveway.

Exceptional stay. Much better then the couch at my daughters place. But in all seriousness staff are friendly, rooms are spacious and clean and bed was so comfy as well as the pillows. Very happy

If I had to pick something then it would be the stairs just because they are stairs

Very helpful staff, nice comfortable bed. Happy to facilitate our late check in as we were out enjoying our time in the west coast. It is a very good social environment at this lodge or you can be more private if you wish. Great place for younger people traveling nz

Kitchen taps were Luke warm at there hottest. Not a big deal, but I like hot water when doing dishes, soup etc was provided so it's still okay and I used the jug to make the water in the sink hotter. Honestly just picking at straws here, really enjoyed my stay and will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

The room was very clean and comfortable. Although we were on a busy road, we didn’t hear traffic noise. The pool looked inviting though we didn’t have time to enjoy it. The motel backed up to a soccer field and the great taste trail which gave us a lovely morning walk. The manager provided us with fresh milk for our coffee in the morning.

The hosts ( owner / manager) were so welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The grounds looked very inviting as did the poor but we didn’t swim due to the poor weather. We will recommend this Motel to anyone visiting Nelson/ Richmond area.5 stars!

The place is relaxing and convenient. Clean and equipped with the things you need when you are far away from home. The staff and owners of the accommodation are approachable and friendly, giving us a warm welcome upon check in. Highly recommended, giving overall excellent service.

The 1 bedroom apartment was huge!!! So much room, awesome shower pressure, fantastic spa bath, comfortable bed, lots of natural light, warm, very clean, good size balcony that was private. Lovely hosts too, friendly as well. Great place to stay and I travel a lot!!!
