I have stayed in the same room previously. I like it because it has a spa bath.
When I stayed previously, about 1 to 2 years ago I had the same room. The taps for shower/bath do not work very satisfactory. Sometimes they come on together when I was running a bath. The only other thing I would like to suggest is having a small armchair in the room. Otherwise, everything was fine. I have stayed in the Honest Lawyer many times over the years and have no serious complaints.

Nice rooms, very clean. Great location
Huge disappointment checking in. Booking .com let us down big time. Our booking said including breakfast. This booking was for 4 people. Booked 8 months prior. On arrival the poor lady had to tell us, breakfast not included. She was stressed and to wear our disappointment hugely. She said booking .com will not update their web page. Offered us free drinks instead. She was awesome. Not her fault. Booking .com do something fast. Poor staff have to put up with upset confused customers. 😕

Wow what a gem accommodation, it had so much character. The facilities were lovely & the staff were so friendly & welcoming. Great location if you need to fly in or out of Nelson. We had dinner a couple of times in the restaurant downstairs & the food was delicious. When they ran out of one particular dessert the Manager made me up a special dessert as a replacement which was such a lovely touch. Highly recommend.
Nothing, we were happy with everything.

Property is well maintained, and I liked the room I was staying at. It was sunny and clean! The rooms also had the kettle and coffee, milk, wanted and some cutlery. The bed was ready comfy and I slept well :)
There are just minor things to mention, which don’t necessarily mean I didn’t like it. As I had a large suitcase it was a bit challenging to bring it up upstairs. However, the lady at the reception offered me help which I declined. The air suction in the bathroom wasn’t working properly, as I smelled food/ kitchen odors. I guess, it was because the room was located right on top of the kitchen? I am unsure.

We were recommended to stay here by a local, and it was a good call. This is a popular venue for functions, meals and a drink, not just as a place to stay. We were accommodated in a very nice , quirky "olde worlde" style room with decent facilities. The grounds are special and scenic, particularly at sunset. Nice walks in the local area too. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make us welcome. Dinner was excellent and the serving staff on the ball. After our hearty dinner, the complimentary DIY breakfast was all we needed. The bar is very convivial with friendly locals making us feel at home, indeed it was hard to get away! We wish we'd stayed for longer. Highly recommended and we'd certainly stay here again.
Having to wait until 9:00 am to check out was inconvenient as we'd hoped to get away early. My fault maybe, as I missed the sign telling me this.

We met up with family for dinner in the restaurant. Great food, wine and atmosphere. We didn't have breakfast there as we needed to get to Picton for the midday ferry crossing but the menu looked great.
We would have stayed for breakfast there but it started a bit late in the morning and we needed to get to Picton for the midday ferry crossing. The menu looked great though so would recommend waiting if you have the time.

This is such a cool spot for anyone travelling to/through Nelson! Great value for money and our room was incredible - think tudor style lodgings, classic and cosy. Our room even had a claw foot bath! Our room had a lovely view of the harbour too. I wish I could have enjoyed it even more but was so tired from a long day of driving I passed out on top of the bed at maybe 7pm?? Goes to show how peaceful and comfortable the room is as usually I am a fussy sleeper. Had a real good sleep that night. The food at the tavern there was delicious too, and staff friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

the room had all the facilities that I required
On the Monday and Tuesday nights when I arrived back there was no parking. Monday night a lot of Summit cars in the car park so Summit must have had a meeting. Same thing on Tuesday night (but not Summit). Parking area set aside for Hotel quests would be great

Great bed and good outdoor seating area by the water
It's nowhere near anywhere for a full breakfast unless you have a car or bike with you. They only open at 10am for coffee and some basic counter food so no good if you want a good meal and to be on the road from there. The public transport isnt good in Nelson and this hotel is quite far from CBD area. I wouldnt stay there again unless I had a car or e bike with me

The location was beautiful being situated next to the estuary in Monaco Nelson New Zealand. It was a very peaceful location, despite the rooms being above the pub/restaurant. The room was spacious, warm & comfortable.
It mentioned on booking.com that the breakfast was included in the price. We expected to at least get a continental breakfast but all that was supplied was a box of skippy cornflakes & a tiny plastic tub of fruit salad( not fresh) Very disappointing!
