Check-in is easy. They will send you the message with code and information book about the hostel. Kitchen have many tools. The location is great, you can walk around the city easily. There nearby supermarket. not far from train station.

My room (no.10) has windows that open to the common terrace. some guest smoked there and the smell of the cigarette get in the room. Just mind that if you're allergic to cigarette smoke.

After reading bad reviews about this place I thought it would be worst. The place was big and clean. The entrance to the building, just in the city center, was decorated with cozy lights, which made it nicer to go in there, but the area is nice too. The codes for entering the building were easy to use. You see staff cleaning from 10am on. The kitchen had two ovens and two stoves, so many people could cook at the same time. However, although the hostel was fully booked, we didn't find many people cooking at the same time. Toilets were clean and showers worked well. If there's lots of people you may have to wait a little to use the bathroom. The room had clean sheets (with blanket and duvet), towels and good heating pump (up to 35C°). It is true you can hear everyone from the other side of the wall so they provide with ear plugs.

- On our 2n night someone had put the washing machine in the middle of the night and it was very noisy so I couldn't sleep for a while. I'm not sure the staff is staying there through the night so they couldn't know, but still there should be a prohibition to go into the washing room after some hour at night... - Although they tell you beforehand, it is not practical that you cannot leave the luggage before or after check-in/out times.

It was clean, comfortable and the room with the double bed was a good size. And great location. So great value for the money.

I arrived from abroad, and if I did not buy a SIM card immediately to get my emails, I had no way to enter the room because there is noone on site, and no email with the codes before the arrival day. The information to tell me where to leave the key when I left was sent at 11h30 when checkout is 11h. On the bed there were some ear plugs, because yes, walls are very thin and the common areas are next to the rooms. In the summer, when it is busy, it must be a problem. But at this time of the year, it was quiet and guests were respectful.

Great location. I didn’t mind the doors too much. Just keep a reminder of all the codes; most of the doors were open most of the time anyway, like the gates during the daytime. The fridges were spacious. The shower water pressure was good. Cleaning happens every day. There’s plenty of space in the bathroom. I never ran out of supplies. Laundry is free. The common room is cute and has enough space for many people to sit. My bed felt amazing. I loved sleeping in here.

Host wasn’t very responsive. Asked questions several times and either got replies hours later or completely ignored. No stairs so be mindful if you have luggage. Again, there’s like 5 doors with 5 codes you need to remember. Sometimes noisy with people outdoors and birds. One of the nights, the water wasn’t clearing in the shower so it built up and had blockage. Lastly the walls are PAPER THIN. You will hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are doing. This was a bit annoying.

This wooden house in the heart of the city felt like a little adventure and a chance to experience real Bergen-style living. I felt truly at home here. Communication with the hosts was smooth from the beginning, and the self check-in/check-out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our double room on the second floor was clean and spacious. The beds were narrow but surprisingly comfortable, with soft pillows and warm blankets. Towels were provided, and everything was fresh and in good condition. There was always hot water in the shower — really hot, which is a blessing when you come home after a rainy Bergen day! Soap and shampoo were also available. The kitchen was cozy and had everything we needed for cooking — a stove, microwave, and dishes. Also, Bergen supermarkets have a great selection of affordable ready-to-eat meals (my favorite was the unbeatable rice porridge — adding a photo, highly recommend! :)). I'm totally happy with my choice and will definitely stay here again when I return to Bergen for hiking next year!

Would be great if all guests used the toilet brush after themselves (it’s there for a reason!), but of course, that’s not the host’s fault :)

Staff were great, always helpful where they could be. Location was just as good, couldn't ask for a more central location. Kitchen was well equiped and the bathroom and lounge were very clean. Outdoor areas were exceptional, on the sunny days, and if its rains, the accomodation was nice enough to supply a couple of umbrellas but first come first serve.

My room was nice but it was hard to find - as you had to go through the laundry room, it can be a bit noisey but they did provide ear plugs. I didn't have trouble sleeping as the room was perfect temperature, but I know my nextdoor neighbours could hear me snoring. Lastly, the showers are great, but overtime, the shower drains don't take the water away fast enough, there was a couple of times where my feet were submerged in the water, but just bring flip flops.

Location is very good and close to the harbour and old town. Well equipped kitchen with two stoves and ovens and dish washers. Comfortable common area. Free coffee. Laundry room with washing machine and dryer and provision of washing powder. Bathroom is clean and spacious shower gel.

No lifts, not great if you have heavy luggage. There’s 5 different codes for entry. Too many before you get the key for the room. Room has dormer window which has no blinds so very bright. The walls are rather thin and room opens to common area so can be noisy if other residents congregate and talk.

First of all, the location was perfect - being right in the centre of Bergen. The property was well secured with a multitude of codes and locks. Inside, it felt cosy and welcoming with a sitting area supplied with board games, a TV, sofas and a message board. It had all the facilities we could need, with many bathrooms and one opposite our room. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. The balcony outside was a lovely touch. We would’ve loved to stay here longer, as we could imagine meeting lots of interesting people in the communal areas!

We really liked the hostel, the furnishing was very nice and the „living room“ was cozy. The seperate rooms with two single beds were great and also very clean. The kitchen was also clean and nicely equipped. The fact that there were three bathrooms, each with a toilet and a shower was great too!

Two of the three showers had a sticky note on it that told us they shouldn‘t be used at the moment. It wasn‘t a big problem during our stay due to one functioning shower, but you always had to wait until the other person was finished.

The location was excellent. The hostel was clean and comfortable. The couple who managed the hostel were nice. There were no bed bugs. There is some building work next door, but I did not experience any noise or disturbance from this.

There are good coffee shops nearby, but I wanted to make a coffee in the morning before going out - it would be nice to have a plunger etc in kitchen (not just instant coffee!) The pleasantness of a hostel stay depends on other guests being respectful. My room shared a wall with the kitchen and I had some issues with noise and banging cupboard doors late one night. But those people left and the rest of my stay was very peaceful and friendly.
