This was our second stay at the Britannia. It was as absolutely fabulous as the first time - if not better! This is a hotel that is worthy of its five stars. The attention to detail from room amenities, to the cleanliness (everywhere), to the lack of scuff marks/stains on carpets/furniture, to an amazing breakfast in the most beautiful room, and to the most incredibly friendly and helpful staff …the list could go on! The location is perfect - great for sightseeing. The choice of restaurants either within the hotel or nearby is great. We chose to return to Trondheim and the Britannia, specifically, to celebrate our anniversary - it did not disappoint! Thank you to all at the Britannia for making our stay so special!!

Absolutely nothing - it was as perfect as a hotel can be!

Location, breakfast, amenities, were all top notch! Beautiful location and wonderful bathroom. We had the smallest rooms, but had plenty of space. Bose speakers in the bathroom for the win!

The mattress was fairly stiff, which I know is a a matter of personal preference. Also, while the in-mirror television was cool, it is housed in a very large floor-to-ceiling mirror facing the bed which may or may not turn people off, depending on the vibe of the visit.

The hotel is in a great location, with many sights, restaurants, bars and shops close-by. The rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The beds are comfortable, the mattresses are of medium hardness. The bathroom is spacious, the shower has great water pressure. The hotel has 3 onsite restaurants, I tried the brasserie which was good but there are also a number of other good restaurants within walking distance to the hotel. Don't miss the hotel spa, which has 5 different types of saunas a decent pool and a seawater hot tub, not too mention the great treatments, cosmetic products etc. Breakfast is amazing as well.

There were a few minor issues: when booking always specify that you want a street facing room, otherwise you will be looking at an unimpressive internal courtyard and you will be looking at it through small windows. I was staying in a superior 1897 room which had very (and I mean very) limited closet space. It had space for maybe 5-6 items. The toilet paper and the tissues felt a little bit of a cheap quality, this would be such an easy upgrade and would better fit with the whole experience.

The staff was great. We had to completely cancel and reschedule our train to Bergen at the last minute and Florence Echarri took the time to help us get it all arranged. We also had to get a new booking for a hotel in Oslo for one night due to the changes and she found us a lovely room at the Hotel Bristol. Just over the top customer service. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the room was lovely. Bottom line is that the Britannia Hotel was the best hotel of the seven we stayed in during our trip to Norway.

Nothing. A aspects of what you would want from a hotel stay were excellent.

Words cannot describe adequately the experience in Britannia and the vision of the owner that goes down to the guests. This is a hotel we will surely remember and try to bring friends to enjoy it. The details make the difference and the ambience of the place is truly unique. We have been to Four Seasons in 3 different cities, but we did not feel the same. As for the breakfast, there is little you can say. Unparalleled. The variety and the quality of the food offered is superb. Lastly, the staff was very polite, helpful and attentive in a simple, nice way. Above all, you get all these at an affordable price. I would rate it 11 if I could. The fact that this hotel is in Trondheim with the magnificent Nidaros Cathedral in less than 5 minutes away, makes it a real must. We will try visiting again in Christmas time.

If you're seeking a little spot of luxury then you'll find it here! From the staff to the shower and everything in between is superb! I can't recommend highly enough. Plus, the bed, pillows and duvet were like how I imagine sleeping on clouds - incredible.

I'm saying this tongue in cheek - I wanted to purchase the pillows but it wasn't possible. I'd urge the hotel to rethink this, particularly with international visitors who're unable to get them shipped outside of Norway.

Great breakfast and the staff at the breakfast are also very service minded and super friendly. Nice hotel and facilities. Good location.

Very nice hotel, but we honestly expected more. For example (all very minor points, just not up to standard if you want to be an excellent five star hotel) - we in advance had agreed with the hotel that they would provide a baby cot. This was not installed at check in (room not available before 15:00) and when we got to the room there was no cot. Went back to reception and they said it would be installed between 19-21:00. They then agreed that this was a bit late for a toddler with bedtime 20:00 at the latest and made sure housekeeping came by with the bed. - The tea in the room is cheap quality twinging's (in the spa however there are much better options) - Restaurant: barbecue in the cellar and bistro were below average and service not great.

The room was spacious and superbly clean, with a sizeable en-suite. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful and the valet parking couldn’t have been easier. The breakfast selection had everything you would expect for a continental breakfast, and the bar was adequately stocked with a range of drinks.

Nothing - the whole stay was exceptional.

Everything was as you would expect from a 5 star hotel

The hotel had no parking. For the price one pays it is expected that parking should be available or have an arrangement with a nearby garage for reasonable parking fee.

It is obviously a premium class hotel, so you expect great service, comfortable rooms, and a beautiful spa area. And Britannia certainly offers all of it. The breakfast buffet is also exceptional!

Just 1 star reduction as the hotel is actually huge! I didn't expect that. So obviously the spa area is actually rather packed, and the standard rooms don't have any view at all.
