I liked the location, a short walk from the train station. The lobby was quaint, with big old comfy leather chairs. Elevator had a double set of doors, adding to the old-time charm. The room was fair sized, with enough storage space that I was not tripping over our bags. The express bus stops just outside. Thankfully, it is electric, so no fumes or noise.. Breakfast, included with the room, has a surprisingly large choice for a small establishment. The bread was still hot, fresh from the oven. Yummers! Checkin/out was simple and conducted with a smile. There were coupons for several local restaurants on the counter. The Egon restaurant, a couple of blocks away, was excellent.

The room was hot and couldn't control the heat. The room faced the street and you can imagine the noise on a Friday night. These people party late, until 4am.

Location amazing, helpful staff, price/quality ratio is amazing, probably one of the best in Norway. Breakfast buffet has just awesome selection and everything's tasty. I stayed in a single room, had enough mirrors, bathroom good, soft bed as everywhere in Norway, but better pillows then many other places and it was warm in room/bathroom.

The only thing that can be complained about (not me), The whole hotel is old, you can see that. In my opinion it gives it some special charm actually and would it be renovated, spending millions on it - you as a customer would pay twice as much. If not even more.

The staff were unexpectedly friendly: receptionists, cleaners and not the least in the breakfast room. They made Chesterfield a place I would very much like to return to. I had chosen the hotel for its location, which was perfect for me, close to the railway station, and with busses to the airport just outside the hotel lobby. The breakfast buffet was very good, indeed excellent.

The hotel would need a handyman who, room by room, checks and fixes small details that have broken, e.g. towel racks.

charming hotel that bears the mark of time. could use some renovation but not a major project. Located in perfect walking distance from absolutely everything. Train station 5 minutes away, airport bus stops right outside the door and many different nightlife and dining options in the immediate vicinity. The breakfast table is just perfect, not too much as it usually is everywhere, but the most important thing. You get full. will go back when needed. highly recommended!!!

I was very satified!!!

Good sized room and bathroom, I like the more old-fashioned style of the hotel rather than the typical 'chain' hotels of today. Very impressed with the breakfast spread! Staff very helpful in explaining the online intricacies of the local bus services. Very close to the inbound stop for the airport bus, and the outbound bus stop is right outside the door (and goes every 15 mins). Also very grateful for staff responding rapidly to me when SAS arbitrarily cancelled my arriving flight to Trondheim late in the evening and hence I could not arrive until the next morning. They provide afternoon tea and waffles :)

I'm perfectly happy with the stay. My only tiny comment is that the lift is a bit historic and unpredictable!

Absolutely incredible service and apartments, and I'd I come back to Trondheim, I'll definitely stay there again. Reception was very friendly and helpful, even make small notes on city maps what should we definitely see due short staying in Trondheim. Free waffles at the evening, tea and coffee, very tasty breakfast with a lot of different food, comfy beds and super view from the window of our room. Also we were offered to keep baggage after checkout. Thank you Chesterfield hotel.

Maybe you think about changing shower curtains to doors?)

Excellent location 5 mins walk from station. We booked for a family room which was really a small apartment with two rooms, sofa bed, table and large bathroom. All-in-all a very comfy room. Breakfast buffet was included and superb with a great a range including so many meats, fish and cheeses as well as the usual things like cereal and yogurt, fruit etc. Well recommended for a stay in Trondheim.

Breakfast was lovely! A great variety and delicious food. The interior was cosy and welcoming, and the stuff incredibly friendly. The location was superb to someone traveling alone and not wanting to walk too long distances, especially at night.

Sound isolation wasn't the best and there were some crumbs and dust in the cabinets. The skylights would've been splendid had they been clean. Some of the foods could've used labels, as in what they are and allergens.

The staff in this hotel were so helpful! They went above and beyond to make sure we had the best stay in Trondheim. The location was great (close to town and the station). The rooms themselves were large and had everything you needed, if a little dated. Breakfast had lots of hot and cold options with well-labelled gluten-free options. They had waffles every evening between 5 and 7 for the guests and tea and coffee available in reception throughout the day.

We stayed in a family room the first night and this had a limited view (although this was pointed out at booking). The rooms higher up had a great view of the harbour and mountains

Very friendly and helpful front-desk staff. Free breakfast with hot and cold selections. My room was very clean. Located very close to the train station. My bathroom was very roomy (especially relative to the tightness of the bedroom). The electric kettle (with instant coffee) was also a huge plus for me.
